The purpose of this study was to investigate the wearing sensation and satisfaction of high school girls' winter uniform jackets according to the fabrics and the shapes. The fabrics were divided into four parts of stretch and non-stretch woven fabrics. The shapes were divided into two parts of tight and general types. The results were as followings: 1. In the aspect of the appearance evaluation for the uniform jackets, silhouette and length item showed significant differences in fabric and shape. The non-stretch woven fabric and tight type was more satisfying than the stretch fabric and general type because its silhouette and length were shorter and fitter than the stretch one and general type. The jackets of non-stretch woven fabric of tight type were evaluated as the thinnest in the silhouette and were evaluated as the shortest in the length. Conversely, the jackets of stretch woven fabric of general type were evaluated as the thickest and longest. 2. As for the wearing sensation of school uniform jacket, all test items showed significant differences in fabric and shape. The stretch fabric and general type was more satisfying than the non-stretch woven fabric and tight type because the jacket of stretch fabric and general type was felt more comfortable in activities, and wearing. Accordingly, the appearance evaluation for uniforms' jacket is in sharp contrast with that of wearing sensation.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between five aspects of clothing behavior and needs for exhibition and autonomy among high schoolgirls. Five aspects of clothing behavior were studied: fashion interest, clothing exhibition, attitudes toward the abolition of the school uniform and control of school dress. A questionnaire of 20 items prepared by Kahng, Lee, and Creekmore was used to assess fashion interest and clothing exhibition. Assessment of attitudes toward the abolition of school uniform and control of school dress was made with questions devised for this study and included several modified items from Kim's questionnaire. Preferences for fashion style were determined by line drawings representing current fashion and outdated fashion. The questionnaires were administered to 341 second year senior high school girls from three types of schools. Statistical analysis was performed using the correlation coefficient, chi-square test, ANOVA, The results were: 1) The need for exhibition was positively related to clothing exhibition and fashion interest, that is, students who had a higher need for exhibition were more interested in clothing exhibition and fashion. 2) The need for autonomy was positively related to attitudes toward the abolition of school uniform and control of school dress that is, students who had a higher need for autonomy wanted the abolition of school uniform and less control of school dress. 3) Fashion interest was positively related to preference for fashion style, that is, students who a higher fashion interest prefered fashinable styles in the selection of new clothes. 4) Scores of clothing exhibition and attitudes toward loosening of control of school dress were significantly different among three types of school. The orders from highest to lowest are following: single-sex preparatory, coeducational preparatory, vocational high school.
The purpose of this thesis is presenting desirable design of uniform which could reflect high school girls' demands with the researches on their consciousness of fashion and actual state of uniforms. Methods to accomplish this research include first, examinationson characteristics of high school girls and their consciousness of fashion with relevant articles, second, interviews with designers from major domestic uniform brands - ELITE, IVY, SMART - and third, analysis on related internet sites. Practical researches are followed by design analysis and proposal of improvement on high school girls' uniform, accompanied by collection of photographs from field studies, major uniform brands' shops and uniform related internet sites. Korean high school girls in the digital era are able to express themselves in each different fashion with own individuality, preference or intention, as they are particularly interested in clothes or their appearances. Their consciousness of fashion became visible in a shape of negative attitude and dissatisfaction with uniforms due to its out-of-date design, lack of features and inconvenience in action. Besides more than half of high school girls already experienced reforming it for better looks. As a result of current analysis on references of uniform designs, various levels of refinement were noticed even in uniform of similar details, design, fabric textile and color due to differences on size & length of jacket collar, dart, cutting line, size of details, decorative line, easiness in fit, length of clothes, and etc. To provide students of more refined and desired designs which reflect their demands, current uniforms are to begin acquiring delicate changes with present vogue and feature such as size of details, silhouette, cutting line, decorative line and etc. In addition newly designed uniforms are to present desirable design with image of refinement and neat as they actively comprehend students' needs within its symbolic, functional, economic and aesthetic characteristics by nature.
This study was carried out to Investigate the biochemical characteristics, antibiotic susceptibility, serogroups and pili producibility test of enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli(ETEC) isolated from piglets with diarrhea in Kangwon province from March to October 1996. 1. Sixty eight E coli strains were isolated from 72 piglets with diarrhea and the biochemical and cultural reaction were compared with the classification criteria of Edwards and Ewing. 2. The serogroups of 26 isolates were classified as 08 : K87 6(8.8%), O20 : K1O1 4(5.9%), O141 : K85 4(5.9%), 09 : K103 : P987 3(4.4%), O45 : K 2(2.9%) 0139 : K82 2(2.9%), O64 : $K^{-}$2(2.9%), O149 : K91 1(1.5%), O157 : K88ac 1(1.5%) and O115 : $K^{-}$1(1.5%), respectively. 3. In antibiotic susceptibility test, the isolates showed high susceptible to Ak, Eno, Na, Gm, Am and Km, whereas resistance to Tc, Sm and Cf. 4. Sixty one strains(89.7%) of 68 I coli Isolates were resistant to one or more drugs. The isolates resistant to 2 and 3 or more drugs were 60.3% and 19.1%, respectively. Amog the 16 multiple resistant patterns, Sm Tc(11.5% ), Cf Sm Tc(11.5% ), Cf Cp Sm Su Tc(9.8% ) and Cf Cp Sm Su Tc(8.2%) patterns were frequently observed. 5. MRHA of guinea pig erythrocytes was detected in 9 out of 26 OK serotype and 9 out of 42 unidentified serotypes. MRHA titers of serotypes showed from 16 to 32 in O141 : K85 and no titers in O139 : K82. 6. By the GM1 ganglioside ELISA, $\beta$-, $\alpha$-, and $\gamma$-hemolysin producing strains was detected as 36, 6, and 5 from heat labile enterotoxin(LT) of 47 ETEC, respectively. The distribution of LT toxin from 112 isolates was showed $\beta$- hemolysin, 2 isolates $\alpha$-hemolysin and 3 isolates $\gamma$-hemol-ysin from 26 OK serotypes.
This study is to present a female high school summer blouse with high movement functionality and satisfying appearance. For the experimental research 6 subjects with closest average body shapes and their body surface was measured at beginning and after selecting a representative movement the tested uniform was worn and the appearance and movement functionality was evaluated. The results of this research are as follows. In the research with the aims to improve the sleeve designed the height in 3 types as A.H/4+3, A.H/4+2, A.H/4+1 and their evaluation showed that in the order of best appearance was A.H/4+2, A.H/4+1, A.H/4+3. In the order of best comfort was A.H/4+2, A.H/4+3, A.H/4+1 and the best order for movement functionality was A.H/4+1, A.H/4+2, A.H/4+3. Additional height types designed produced from elastic materials were A.H/4+3, A.H/4+2, A.H/4+1 and the resulting order of appearance was A.H/4+3, A.H/4+2, A.H/4+1, order of comfort was A.H/4+3, A.H/4+2, A.H/4+1 and the order of movement functionality was A.H/4+1, A.H/4+2, A.H/4+3. Integrating these results shows that in using the same concurrent materials, the experiment pattern of setting the sleeve height as A.H/4+2 was the best while in using elastic materials, the experiment pattern of setting the sleeve height as A.H/4+3 was the best.

This study was planned to provide basic information to help teachers guide lookism-prone students in their home and school life, and to guide them in the unit relating to clothing in school curriculums. To carry out this experiment questionnaires were administered to 481 students in their first and second year in middle and high schools in Gwangju city. The questionnaires are composed of 3 themes; 'general matters', 'attitudes about and recognition of appearance management' and 'school adaptation'. The collected data was analyzed with Component analysis(Varimax rotation) and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, T-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan-test, Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS WIN 14.0(Kr). The results of this study were as follows; 1. The more they managed their behavior relating to appearance and cleanliness, the better they felt their friendships. 2. The less they concentrated management relating to appearance, the better they felt about their relationships with their teachers. 3. The less they concentrated management relating to appearance but the more they managed cleanliness the easier they adjusted to school rules. 4. The less they pursued a trendy appearance but the more they managed cleanliness, the better they studied.

In terms of junior high school girls' growth patterns during early adolescence, are unlike childhood when relatively balanced growth patterns are found and high school years in which the normal adult body type is nearly reached, growth patterns displayed are imbalanced and rapid. In fact, diverse size changes by body part growth occur significantly different from individual to individual. Therefore, it has been hard for junior high school students to select their proper size when buying school uniforms. This study attempted to acquire basic data needed to address adolescent body shapes and school uniform patterns for junior high school girls, using the data from the 7th Size Korea Survey (2015). Specifically, it provides basic data for the development of school uniform patterns through the classification of their body into particular types, After extracting body shape components and a cluster analysis using ANOVA. According to a factor analysis conducted to determine body shape components, six factors were obtained: Factor 1: bulk and horizontal size, Factor 2: body height and length, Factor 3: shoulder shape and length, Factor 4: shape of upper body, Factor 5: lower drop, Factor 6: upper drop with a variance of 81.46%. To classify junior high school girls' body shape and determine their characteristics, a cluster analysis was performed with the variables obtained using factor analysis. Body shape was classified into three different types: Type 1 accounted for 30.7%. This was a short, slender body with the smallest bulk, size, and upper drop. Type 2 accounted for 24.9%. This was the largest in bulk and horizontal size and highest and length as well. Type 3 accounted for 44.5%. This type was close to average in terms of horizontal size, length and height, and high drop values. To develop school uniforms with great accuracy and body fit for junior high school students, there should be further studies on changes in body shape and their causes. The study results can serve as basic data for comparing branded school uniform patterns for junior high school girls and developing school uniform patterns based on body shape, using 3D virtual clothing simulations.
This paper looks at the readers and publishing strategies of paperback romance novels in the the 1980s based on the 'high-teen' concept. The purpose of this article is to examine the meaning the 'high-teen' concepts as expressed in the media through the publication of paperback romance series in the 1980s. Among paperback romance series, this paper was based on pirated/licensed version of novels published by Harlequin, a Canadian publisher, and the magazine media's advertising promotional phrases that were published targeting the same readers. Since the 1970s, mass media have referred to teenagers as high-teens and called them important consumers. High-teen was a term referring to teenagers in school uniforms, mostly girls, and in the 1980s, 'high-teen' was also introduced as a new consumer market, and the publishing market put forward a number of publishing strategies to attract them. The paperback romance, including , has identified 'high-teen' readers as late-teen girls, sensitive consumers for best-sellers/million-sellers, readers with a tendency to read stories of love, and readers that favor American and Western culture. Since the 1980s, the market for paperback romance has been in the recession, but readers have kept the romance genre alive by accepting and localizing the Harlequin series. With the rise of a new form of media called the 'Web Novel', interest in the romance genre is increasing, and we hope this study will serve as a starting point for a variety of discussions with (women) readers about romance reading/enjoyment.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the mediating effects of self-image on the relationship between experience of discrimination and self-esteem among the elderly in Korea. Furthermore, it is to explore whether these effects are moderated by social and economic activity participation. Data were collected from a cross-sectional survey of 543 community-dwelling Korean older adults (age≥65) drawn from community and senior centers in the mid-size city in Korea. The statistical analysis was performed by a structural equation modeling using LISREL statistical program. The results are fourfold. First, experiences of discrimination exerted the negative effects on physical, dispositional, and competent self-images of the elderly. Second, dispositional and competent self-image brought down by discriminative experiences lowered the levels of self-esteem. Third, social activity participation moderated the negative effects of discrimination experiences on physical and dispositional self-images. It also moderated the effects of dispositional self-image on self-esteem. Fourth, economic activity participation did not show moderating effects on the relationship between experience of discrimination and self-images. Meanwhile, it moderated the effect of competent self-image on self-esteem. These results demonstrate that to improve self-esteem of the elderly population, social welfare policies should make effort to reduce discrimination toward the elderly. Furthermore, social welfare organizations should also try to implement diverse community based programs geared for enhancing social and economic activities for elderly. Limitations and directions for future research are also discussed.
This study was done to find out the effects that group art therapy would have on low rank cognitive functions and the self-esteem of the elderly with dementia. The study subjects were four elderly females with light dementia symptoms who scored lower than 19 points on the MMSE-K(Mini Mental State Examination-Korea) test. They were chosen from the ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ Senior Welfare Service Center located in Seoul. A total of 15 sessions of a group art therapy were given once a week for 60 minutes from January 15th to April 30th of 2008, the research tools employed were the MMSE-K and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale on which a pre-test and a post-test were given. The results obtained are as follows. First, it was shown that group art therapy is effective to improve the cognitive functions of the elderly with dementia. According to the pre-tests and post -tests based on MMSE-K, the average score improved from 16.75 to 19.75, using Wilcoxon non-parameter statistics, verification resultant p-value which significant difference exhibited as .046, from the pre-tests and post-test, the average score improved in the subordinate areas of Orientation, Registration, Attention and Calculation, language function, understanding and judgment but there was no significant difference, memory recollection improved by a score of 0.70 according to the pre-test and post-test. using Wilcoxon non-parameter statistics, the verification resultant p-value which significant difference exhibited as .043. Second, it appeared with the fact that group art therapy effects the Self-Esteem of the elderly with dementia. From the verifications of a pre-test and post-test on Self-Esteem, the average score improved from 20.75 to 24.25, the effectiveness of the program was given proven by statistically considering the statistical resultant p-value of .048.
