For the purpose, casual hanbok school summer uniforms were made. They were made of 4 different textiles materials - P/R, P100, P/C, P/R/S for blouses, P/W, P100, P/R, P/W/F for skirts. Then their clothing microclimate, subjective sensation were tested at room temperature $25{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ and $50{\pm}10%$ R.H. Clothing Microclimates wearing on the blouses were good matched comfort temperature range. Subjective sensations wearing on the blouses were better than those of traditional koran clothes so called "Hanbok" and quite same for western style clothes. Thermal sensations were indicated some hot condition, and moisture sensations were indicated some wet condition but tactile sensations and comfortable sensations were agreeable. The temperatures of the forehead and the breast wearing on the skirts were indicated the same results with the cases of the blouses. Leg temperatures were some lower than the mean skin temperature, the other parts' temperatures were slightly higher than blouses but the mean skin temperatures were satisfied comfortable ranges. Subjective sensations wearing on the skirts were better than those of the other traditional clothes and even Western clothes. Thermal sensations and moisture sensations were resulted the same with the case of blouses. Currently, P/R material and P/W material seemed to be cool and respectively suitable for blouses and skirts in summer among the materials of modernized Korean traditional costumes and school uniforms, since those materials lowered skin temperature. But better, physiologically pleasant materials for summer clothes should be development in consideration of clothing microclimate and subjective sensation.

  • This study investigated the clothing easiness of movement when wearing casual Hanbok(Saenghwal Hanbok), as a high school student uniform, and produced some recommendations for improving the Hanbok. Casual summer-uniform Hanbok produced from different types of materials were produced for this study. They were P/R, P100, P/C, and P/R/S for the blouses, with P/W, P100, P/R, and P/W/F for the skirts. Their clothing easiness of movement were then tested at $25{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ and $50{\pm}10%$ R. H. The results were as follows: The easiness of movement for casual Hanbok was marked as $3.7l({\pm}1.03)$ on average which is higher than those of other garments, so it can be presumed that the easiness of movement for the tested clothes was quite good. The easiness of movement was lower, however, when students had their arms up front, right arms upright, arms crossed on the cheats, and bent forward whereas they were more comfortable when standing straight and sitting on a chair at 90 degrees. In terms of easiness of movement, the following ranking was revealed: waist, bust, shoulder, back, armhole, and upper arm. The easiness of movement for casual Hanbok skirts was quite good, and on average marked around $4.26({\pm}.77)$. Standing straight was the most comfortable position, when they bend forward 45 degree and 90 degree were the most uncomfortable positions. The buttocks area was also more comfortable than the waist area for casual Hanbok skirts.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the various signs seen on TV commercials for school uniforms since year 2000, thus uncovering the connotative meanings in them. For this study, the semiotic approach has been used. The signs seen on the TV commercials are separated into linguistic and visual signs. They are found to have symbolic connotations. The results are as follows: First, there are plenty of signs expressing the sense of belonging to the student group and sense of conformity to his or her peer group. They are intended to garner their collective identity in the peer group of teenagers. Second, the TV commercials express the self that is realizing one's value dynamically. The frequent designation of 'I', 'me' and 'myself' represents that I am at the center of the world. Furthermore, the suggestion of diverse student roles beyond mere academic pursuits symbolically shows the ideal self that most teenagers wish to have. Third, the TV commercials implied a commercial ideology. That is expressed in the emphasis on aesthetic value that teenagers can realize their self only by consuming expensive school uniform brands. Forth, there are many signs related to appearance and appearance care. They are expressed with very specific signs such as 3 : 7 proportion, long legs, small face, and so on. Repeating or emphasizing the importance of looks and a certain brand name as the tool to accomplish better looks indicates that it contains the ideology of appearance management.

  • This study aims to investigate purchase attitude towards uniforms, wear condition and their requirements for functional school uniforms for high school boy students, and to help to present basic data for the development of functional school uniforms by reflecting requirements from high school students. First, research on school uniform brands purchased in Busan, Ulsan, and Kyungnam regions showed 2 brands were preferred, and the school uniform purchase expenses are primarily between two hundred thousand won and three hundred thousand won. Second, in terms of differences among fabrics of summer and winter uniforms, many students answered that 'they are similar' or 'there is no difference'. As for complaints about winter uniforms, thermal insulation accounts for the highest rate. As a result of research on underwear worn primarily in the winter, boy students tend to wear underwear to keep their lower bodies warm rather than their upper bodies. They tend to keep their upper bodies warm with outerwear such as vests, cardigans, and padding jumper. According to a survey on experience and satisfaction of functional uniforms, students showed satisfaction with more than three points to all questions except for two, which means their satisfaction about the functions of uniforms that they wear currently is above the average. Third, many boy students complains about the thermokeeping of winter uniforms, especially thigh parts of pants. It is required to make research for the improvement of functional pants for boy students.

  • This experiment was carried out to detect the residues of sulfonamides in raw milk. Raw milks which does not contain sulfonamides was collected from one of the farm and fortified with 5 sulfonamides (sulfamerazine, sulfamethazine, sulfamonomethoxine, sulfadimethoxine, sulfaqinoxaline). The sulfonamides in the fortified sample were extracted and detected by High Performance Liquid Chromatography. UV /vis detector was used in this experiment. The results obtained were summarized as follows : 1. Chloroform was good as a extracting solution. 2. 15.5% methanol in PDP as a mobile phase solution was best detective condition for SMR, SMT, SMM. But for SDM and SQN the best condition was 23% methanol. 3. The detectable limits of SMR, SMT, SMM were 2ppb. but SDM and SQN were 20ppb because of delayed retention time and relatively low recovery rate. 4. The peaks of SMR, SMT, SMM and SDM were erected at baseline and the apexes were sharp but SQN was round shape.

As the result, the students wore 1~2 pieces of school uniform, which showed that it was hard to keep them clean by washing them often. The satisfaction level of school uniform was not high, The lowest item was the price. Therefore, to increase the satisfaction level of the school uniforms and also to increase the sanitary level of the school uniforms, it was advisable to purchase a recycled school uniform at cheaper prices to have an extra set. For a vitalization of the recycled school uniforms, the middle school technology/home economy subjects were reviewed. In the topic of "clothing acquisition plan and purchase", the themes of planned purchase, overconsumption of clothing and environmental pollution were discussed and included preferable behaviors for disposal. The topic of "clothing manufacturing and recycling" listed recycling the clothes that are not worn or exchanging them with neighbors as well as suggesting methods to illicit environment-friendly behaviors and carrying them out. However, some textbooks only briefly explained the methods of recycling and more detailed and practical methods need to be suggested in the curriculum. In addition, the contents regarding the environment in the clothing topic need to be supplemented more and more changes, such as related education plans or data development, are required.
