Analysis on the Relation between Major Subjects of Architecture & Civil Engineering and Mathematics in Korean Industrial Circle High School (공업계 고등학교 토목.건축 학과의 전문 교과와 수학 교과와의 연관성 분석 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relation between major subjects of industrial circle high school and mathematics matched with present 2007 revision curriculum. We compare and analyze learning contents in industrial circle's math education via various aspects including methods of explanations, contents domains, and contents levels. The analysis followed by the research study performed with literature study of curriculums and text books. Our research indicates that school curriculum should be reflected relation between industrial high school's each major course and mathematics, so each major course curriculum should be different. Many contents beyond high school mathematics were founded. Hence suitable mathematical maturity and levels within standard high school math curriculum should be considered when one make text books of major course in industrial circle high school.

An Analysis on the Relationship of Computer Curriculums Between Dept. of Computer Education in Universities and IT-Related High Schools (컴퓨터교육과와 IT 관련 고등학교간 교과과정의 연관성 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore relationship of computer curriculums between department of computer education in universities and specialized vocational high schools. We sampled 15 computer curriculums from department of computer education, 17 computer curriculums from specialized high schools and 41 curriculums from vocational high schools. And we compare and analyze the number of subjects and times on all of curriculums. As a result, curriculums in department of computer education is lacking in subjects for domains of multimedia, computer graphics and practical computer graphics. It is low on the relationship of computer curriculums between department of computer educations and IT-related high schools. Therefore, this study concludes by proposing computer curriculums of department of computer education which should reflect the subjects.

The Relationship between Major Subjects of Information & Communication Department and Mathematics in Technical High School, Busan metropolitan city (부산광역시 공업계 고등학교 정보 통신과의 전문 교과와 수학 교과의 연관성)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose the new direction in the curriculum and framework of information & communication department in technical high schools through analyzing the propriety of curriculum contents, the relationship among the subjects and the time difference in major subjects and mathematics, respectively. The main results of this study are as follows: (1) The common curriculum to include the number of selective and major subjects were different according to the curriculum and studying hours in each school. The differences were caused by the results of managing the curriculum by which was considered characteristics of schools, department and so on. (2) Mathematical contents are evenly found in 3 units in general communication subjects. The mathematical factors are shown similarly in every item in mathematics10-A, mathematics10-B, and mathematics I. The mathematical contents are found most frequently by 41.2% in the communication basis unit, also there were four items which do not exist in the technical high school mathematics. (3) Mathematical contents are evenly found in every unit of electron circuit subject. The mathematical factors in mathematics10-A are shown more than in mathematics I by 8 items. Mathematical contents are found most frequently in the amplification circuit unit by 22.2% of the electron circuit subject.

A Study on the Correlation between MSC and major curriculum for Efficient Engineering Education (효율적인 공학 교육을 위한 MSC 교과목과 전공 교과목의 연관성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to improve the curriculum efficiently and to raise the level of students's satisfaction by studying the correlation between MSC and major courses. For this, we compared the student's grades for those courses. Furthermore the level of satisfaction of the MSC subjects was surveyed. We found that one of dissatisfactions was due to the student's low recognition about the Accredited Program. So efforts to raise the student's satisfaction abouts the program should be done continuously and an in-depth study about MSC and major courses is necessary instead of just offering the required subjects.

A Study of Analysis Current state of the Apprenticeship Curriculum in Vocational Education and Training High Schools Participating in the Apprenticeship System (산학일체형 도제학교의 도제 교육과정 편성 현황 분석 연구)

  • This study aimed to make proposals to develop an apprenticeship program and organize the apprenticeship curriculum by conducting an overall analysis of how vocational education and training high schools participating in the apprenticeship system(apprenticeship schools) organized the apprenticeship program in the school curriculum. To that end, the study analyzed the current state of the apprenticeship curriculum of 33 apprenticeship schools and came up with the following results: First, the apprenticeship class and the general class had a similar relevance between 'departments' and 'areas and goals of student training' and between 'departments' and 'qualifications,' while the apprenticeship class had a higher relevance between 'areas and goals of student training' and 'qualifications' than the general class. Second, both the required and optional competency units of the apprenticeship program were relatively evenly included in the Off-JT and OJT. Third, the competency units of the apprentice program were included in the technical subjects of the 2009 revised curriculum as well as the NCS practical subjects of the 2015 revised curriculum. Fourth, although most of the competency units of the apprenticeship program have a high correlation with the technical subjects of the school curriculum, there were also many schools showing a low correlation. Fifth, although the hierarchy of organizing the competency units of the apprenticeship program by semester was mostly high, there were a considerable number of schools with a low hierarchy. As a result, this study made the following policy proposals: granting a grace period for approval of the changes in the curriculum of the apprenticeship, distributing the matching table before and after the revision of the NCS competency units, organizing subjects not included in the national curriculum, creating subjects specialized for companies, and monitoring and consulting the curriculum of the apprenticeship schools.

Suggestion of the Developing the Dance Major Curriculum on the Basis of Employment (시장중심 무용학과 교과과정 모형 개발 제안)

  • The purpose of this study is to make proposal an oriented-market curriculum of related dance major through analyzing the current curriculum and graduates' employment rate and occupational category of ten universities for last 3 years. This study suggested that Employment rate of the related-dance department graduates decreased considerably last year, which frist asked health insurance for calculating employment rate compared with 2008, 2009 year. The occupational category which is related dance occupied over half of whole occupation and office and sport job were taken to scale. It was necessarily to set up subjects such as body structure and function, administration, management, IT, integration, performance project, pedologics, and gerontology to meet the demand of times. The development of new job market which is connected with related-job subjects will be needed to increase employment rate and variety of occupational category of graduates from dance department.

A Study on Teaching Perpendicularity and Parallelity in Elementary School Mathematics (초등학교 수학에서 수직과 평행의 지도 방안 탐색)

  • Perpendicularity and parallelity are important concepts in Mathematics as well as real-life contexts. However, those concepts are rather reduced in 2015 revised curriculum compared to previous 2009 revised curriculum. This study firstly analyzed teaching method related to perpendicularity and parallelity in a series of mathematics textbooks of Korea, Singapore and Japan. Moreover, the unit of perpendicularity and parallel was redesigned in a way to understand the concepts meaningfully and to give opportunities for students to explore how to make perpendicular and parallel lines. The results showed that noticeable changes has been as the curriculum was revised in Korea. Also, three countries showed some differences in concepts definition and learning activities. This study is expected to suggest implications for how to teach perpendicularity and parallelity in elementary school mathematics.

  • The purpose of this study was to understand on management and problems in the instruction of the subject of Technology and Home Economics, and to suggest the effective implementation schemes under 7th national curriculum guideline. The major results of this study were as follows. First, the teachers perceived the first reason why the subject of Technology and Home economics is being more unpopular is because the subject becomes not to include in the subjects of the national examinations for the Universities. Second. the teachers regarded the main problem in the present instruction of the subject of Technology and Home economics under 7th curriculum as the incorporation of the subject between Technology and Home economics, namely, no relation and organization with two majors. Third, which the teachers regarded as important tasks for effective management of the subject of Technology and Home economics were to lesser the extra charges except instruction related work of the teachers, and to increase the supply of the teachers itself.

  • Professional Engineers for Building Electrical Facility is required to have both theoretical background and field experiences as an expert for managing a building electrical facility. In order to cultivate many Professional Engineers with both theoretical and practical basis, it is necessary to analyze the past examinations and develop an efficient cultivating plan. In this work, we analyzed the tendency of past and recent 4 year's examinations and the relation of examinations to the university curriculum. We suggest some methods that supplement the gap between curriculums of universities and qualification tests. Also, this paper introduces some advanced education programs of the reeducation agencies for these areas.

A Study on the Development and Application of Cryptography Teaching Program for Vocational High School Mathematics (상업 정보 계열 고등학교 암호 교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a contents when we are going to introduce cryptography and information security for vocational high school students. For this we do a survey of the students' level for understanding of information security and the 7th curriculum for school mathematics, 2007 revised curriculum for school mathematics, the curriculum for vocational high school, and we search for the material that connects between mathematics subjects and vocational subjects. We develop a text book that introduces information security and cryptography. After we teach vocational high school students by using this developed book, we get the result that learning cryptography with computer programming makes a good motivation of learning mathematics and roles a parameter between mathematics curriculum and vocational curriculum. As a result we propose that the developed contents can be used in 'Practical Mathematics' in the 7th curriculum for school mathematics or 'Application of Mathematics' in 2007 revised curriculum for school mathematics.
