EFFECT OF A FLUORIDE VARNISH ON THE ENAMEL DEMINERALIZATION (불소바니쉬가 법랑질 탈회에 미치는 영향)

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of fluoride varnish application on enamel decalcification. Eighty bovine enamel blocks divided randomly into 4 groups. Group I is the control group. Group II was treated with the APF gel and washed after 4 minutes. Group III and IV was treated with Fluor $Protector^{(R)}$ and $CavityShield^{TM}$ and washed after 1 minutes. Decalcification were created by placing all specimen into artificial acidic solution(pH 4.0). Then the optical density of the lesions were measured by visible light fluorescence and the lesion depths were measured. The results were : 1. The optical density of group II was higher than group I but lower than group III, IV(p<0.05) and there was no difference between group III, IV(p>0.05) at 48 hours. 2. The optical density of group IV was highest at 72 hours(p<0.05). 3. Mean lesion depths were $205.36{\pm}42.85{\mu}m$ and $210.81{\pm}44.60{\mu}m$ in group I, II but no significant difference between two groups(p>0.05). 4. Mean lesion depths were $80.03{\pm}21.66{\mu}m$ and $77.46{\pm}27.72{\mu}m$ in group III, IV but no significant difference between two groups(p>0.05). Fluoride varnish treatment resulted in a significant reduction in lesion depth compared with APF gel. Fluor $Protector^{(R)}$ and $CavityShield^{TM}$ provided the similar effect.

  • Density of a dye or pigment teduces by radiant energym and dinsity change induces color change. In this paper, we habe worked out an equation to predict the color change by the radiant energy under the assumption of colorant density changing pattern by radiant energy and the color changing pattern by colorant density chane. And the damaging factors in the equation was established by experiments. To evaluate the efectiveness of the equation and the method, several samples were irradiated by common light source and color change was measured. Good coincidence between the ceasured and the calculated color change was found. And it was also found that there is a close relationhaip between the spectral damaging factor and the spectral absorptance in visible wavelength range.

Generation of Large-scale Map of Surface Sedimentary Facies in Intertidal Zone by Using UAV Data and Object-based Image Analysis (OBIA) (UAV 자료와 객체기반영상분석을 활용한 대축척 갯벌 표층 퇴적상 분류도 작성)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose the possibility of precise surface sedimentary facies classification and a more accurate classification method by generating the large-scale map of surface sedimentary facies based on UAV data and object-based image analysis (OBIA) for Hwang-do tidal flat in Cheonsu bay. The very high resolution UAV data extracted factors that affect the classification of surface sedimentary facies, such as RGB ortho imagery, Digital elevation model (DEM), and tidal channel density, and analyzed the principal components of surface sedimentary facies through statistical analysis methods. Based on principal components, input data to be used for classification of surface sedimentary facies were divided into three cases such as (1) visible band spectrum, (2) topographical elevation and tidal channel density, (3) visible band spectrum and topographical elevation, tidal channel density. The object-based image analysis classification method was applied to map the classification of surface sedimentary facies according to conditions of input data. The surface sedimentary facies could be classified into a total of six sedimentary facies following the folk classification criteria. In addition, the use of visible band spectrum, topographical elevation, and tidal channel density enabled the most effective classification of surface sedimentary facies with a total accuracy of 63.04% and the Kappa coefficient of 0.54.

  • 하천 수심 계측은 수심을 사람이 직접 계측하거나 초음파 기반 유속계 (ADCP) 등 최신 계측기기를 이용하여 간접적으로 계측을 실시하고 있다. 하지만 사람이 직접 하천에서 수심을 측정하는 것은 위험이 동반되고, 수심자료의 측정오차가 크게 발생한다. 따라서 수심측정에서 직접 측정 방식의 한계를 극복하기 위해, 초분광 영상의 반사도와 수심이 높은 상관관계를 보이는 것을 활용하여, 초분광 영상 기반 수심 산정 기법을 개발하였다. 초분광 영상 기반 수심 산정 기법은 복수의 파장이 존재하는 초분광영상으로부터 두 개의 파장대의 밴드를 추출하여 모든 경우의 수에 대해 밴드비를 산정한 후, 실측수심과 밴드비 간의 회귀분석을 실시하여 상관계수가 가장 높은 회귀식을 찾아내는 방식이 최적 밴드비 분석법에 기반한다. 최적 밴드비 분석법을 통해 획득된 높은 상관성의 밴드비-수심 관계식을 이용하여 수심을 추정할 수 있다. 이러한 방법은 직접 수심 측정 방식에 비해, 높은 해상도와 밀도, 양질의 데이터를 수집할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 과거 연구에 따르면 저수심부에서의 높은 정확도의 수심추정 결과를 보였지만, 고수심부에서는 실측수심과의 오차도 높아지는 등 정확성이 떨어지는 경향을 보인다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 보다 효율적인 수심계측을 할 수 있도록 최적 밴드비 분석법을 활용한 수심추정에서 신뢰성 있는 수심의 범위를 파악할 수 있는 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 대상지역으로 낙동강 본류와 황강 지류 합류부로 선정하였고, 초음파 기반 유속계(ADCP)와 드론을 활용하여 실측수심과 초분광 영상을 취득하였다. 민감도 분석을 위한 수심자료를 0.5m 단위로 분할하였으며, 구간별로 최적 밴드비 분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 구간별로 산정된 상관계수와 평균제곱근오차 (RMSE)를 통해 정확도가 높은 구간을 구별할 수 있었다. 또한 해당 구간을 초과하는 수심은 초분광 영상을 통해 추정이 어려운 것으로 판단되며, 분석한 구간까지를 최대 추정 가능 수심으로 정의하였다. 마지막으로 검증을 위해 최대추정가능수심으로 판단된 구간까지의 데이터만 활용하여 최적 밴드비 분석법을 적용하여 상관계수나 평균제곱근오차 결과의 개선여부 확인을 통해, 본 연구에서 제시한 방법이 정확한 최대추정가능수심 구간을 산정할 수 있는지 확인하였다.

  • Wigner functions and density matrices are computer simulated for various quantum mechanical states of light. Wigner function and density matrices are evaluated by filtered back projection which includes inverse Radon transform from the distribution function of the photocurrents, which are calculated in the balanced homodyne detection scheme. The density matrix is also directly obtained by using the pattern function from the simulated phase independent photocurrent distribution function. ction.

  • In order to effectively utilize the Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing(CWDM) technology in optical integrated devices, a design of a wavelength selective coupler structure between an optical fiber and an optical waveguide in a flat substrate is can be considered. In this paper, we consider the coupling between a silicon waveguide with an air trench and a single mode fiber. We investigated the tendency of coupling efficiency and its limitations according to the grating depth. For this purpose, the coupling efficiency of coupler structure designed through modeling based on coupled mode theory is predicted and quantitatively compared with simulation results using finite element method.

Effect of Light-Induced ROS Generation Unit on Inactivation of Foodborne Pathogenic Bacteria in Water (광유도 ROS 발생장치의 세척용수 중 식중독 세균에 대한 불활성화 효과)

  • As the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables increases, food poisoning caused by foodborne pathogen contamination is not decreasing. To prevent the contamination of produce, a quick and easy, low-cost, environmentally-safe disinfection method that does not affect produce freshness or quality is needed. This study demonstrates a new-concept, circulating-water disinfection system that purifies water by using newly developed 'LED-PS (photosensitizer)-induced ROS generation unit'. Using various types of LED-PS induced ROS generation units, we investigated the conditions for reducing the density of various pathogenic bacteria by more than 3 log CFU / mL in 1 hour. The major operational factors affecting the density reduction of the LED-PS-induced ROS generation unit were analyzed. Depending on bacteria species, the density reduction rate was varied. The effect of the units on reducing the density of Bacillus cereus and Pectobacterium carotovorum subsp. carotovorum was high, but the effect on foodborne bacteria such as Escherichia coli was relatively low. In this circulating water disinfection system, the density reduction effect tended to increase as the flow rate increased and the initial bacterial density decreased. As the amount of PS absorbed beads increased, the density reduction effect increased exponentially in some bacteria. Model 3280, a double cylindrical unit connecting two single cylindrical units, could completely sterilize more than 3 log CFU/mL of B. cereus and P. carotovorum subsp. carotovorum in 30 minutes of LED irradiation.

  • 우리나라의 대형 저수지에 담수된 수체는 여름에 온도가 높은 표수층과 온도가 낮은 심수층, 그리고 두 층 사이에서 온도가 크게 변화되는 변온층으로 나뉘게 된다. 여름 홍수기에 상류 하천에서 저수지로 유입되는 부유사는 큰 밀도를 가지기 때문에 저수지의 바닥을 타고 하층 밀도류의 형태로 저수지 하류로 전파된다. 그러나 밀도류가 성층화된 저수지의 변온층에 도달하면 심수층과 변온층 하층의 낮은 온도로 인해 발생하는 수체의 큰 밀도로 하층으로 더 침투하지 못하고 변온층이나 심수층 상층에서 남아 하류에 중층밀도류의 형태로 전파된다. 대량의 탁수를 하류에 방류하면 하류 수질에 문제가 발생되며 저수시키면 댐 수질 및 심수층 생물체의 태양광 차단 문제가 발생되므로 저수지에서 밀도류의 조절은 대형 저수지 운영에 매우 중요한 사항이다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 층적분 모형을 사용하여 대형 저수지에서 발생하는 중층밀도류의 전파 및 선택취수시설을 이용한 밀도류의 차단과 방류에 대해 수치모의하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 중층 밀도류를 수치모의하기 위한 1차원 수치모형을 제시하였으며 소양강댐 상류 소양호에 적용하여 적용성을 검토하고 밀도류의 전파 및 방류에 대해 분석하였다.
