The Effect of Consultant competency on the Project performance and Social-relational competency : focus on ICMCI competence framework (컨설턴트역량이 프로젝트성과와 사회관계역량에 미치는 영향 : ICMCI 역량프레임워크를 중심으로)

  • As the domestic consulting industry matured, consultants were required to have insight into customer's business and consulting business. Gaining these insights requires deep understanding of the business domains and high degree of competencies. This study empirically analyzed the data collected through the survey in order to apply the ICMCI competence model to domestic consultants. As a result of the study, it was found that business competency and technical competency had a positive effect on project performance, but values & behavior competency were not statistically significant. On the other hand, it was found that only technical competency, values & behavior competency had a positive effect on social-relational competency. Through this study, it was confirmed that a deep understanding and perception of the consulting business is necessary to grow into a professional consultant, but there is a limit to generalizing the research results because the characteristics of the population cannot be sufficiently reflected with a small sample.

An Empirical Study on the Relationship between the Capabilities and Sales Growth of Research-based Spin-off Companies (연구소기업의 역량과 매출성장 간의 관계에 관한 실증연구)

  • This study aims to analyze research-based spin-off companies, which are established in Innopolis to promote the commercialization of R&D outputs of public institutions. We analyzed 175 technology-based start-ups, which were founded before 2016, to examine how the companies' capabilities affect the sales growth rate. The results show that technological capability and entrepreneurial capability have positive relations with sales growth, while network capability and finance capability do not have significant associations. In addition, R&D intensity (R&D expenditure per employee) has moderating effects on the association between firm capabilities and sales growth rate since it strengthens the effect of technological capability and entrepreneurial capability but weakens the influence of network capability. This study contributes to widening the understanding of the importance of capabilities of research-based spin-off companies and their performance, and differs from most previous literature since it uses objective and quantitative data. It further suggests policy implications that the enhancement of technological and entrepreneurial capability are important for the stable growth of technology-based startups in the early stage.

A Study on the Knowledge of Elementary School Textbooks Related to Strata from the Perspective of Core Competency-Based Education and the Concept of Preservice Elementary Teachers (핵심역량중심교육 관점에서 지층관련 초등과학교과서의 지식과 예비초등 교사들의 개념 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the contents related to the strata in the elementary science textbooks and to investigate the strata concepts of preservice elementary teachers. As a result of the study, most of the strata knowledge in elementary textbook has an explicit sentence structure, such as A is B. it is limited to being used as a subject of discussion and debate among students in science classes. Formal knowledge, although its meaning is clear, is disadvantageous as a material for core competency education. Regarding strata concepts, 70% of preservice elementary teachers thoughts that heat and pressure were the only key factors in turning sediments into hard rocks. Regarding whether information about the natural information in the geological period can be obtained through the strata, 20% thought that information on the natural environment could be obtained only through fossils and not from the strata. Even 80% of preservice elementary school teachers who thought that informations on the past natural environment could be obtained from the stratum showed a lot of scientific misconceptions in the information contents. In conclusion, in order to increase the effect of core competency education through elementary science education, it is necessary to review the form and contents of strata knowledge presented in elementary science textbooks.

  • This research focused on the major determinants for the technology roadmap utilization of the R&D project after the adoption of the technology roadmap in the R&D intensive organization. The study was performed based on both theoretical study and qualitative case study approaches. The results of this study are summarized as in cases where the R&D project team has higher organizational capability - specifically, relation and research capability, even more technology roadmap is used. In terms of the needs of times, this study regarding the technology roadmap utilization is anticipated to be a good reference for the R&D-oriented organizations and technology-related studies in coming years.

Development and Application Effect of Entrepreneurship Education Program for Teachers (창업 교육 역량 강화 프로그램 개발 및 적용 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a training program for teachers to improve their entrepreneurial education competency for teenager entrepreneurship education. In order to achieve this objective, the training program was developed through a literature review and input from professionals. In addition, to verify field appropriateness of the entrepreneurship program for teachers, teachers participated in the program and a satisfaction survey was conducted. Results of this study are as follows. First, this study developed teaching contents and methods for entrepreneurship education which included 4 hours of online education and 26 hours of off-line education, for a total of 30 hours. Second, for verifying the applicability to schools and its effects, the satisfaction of training was examined using 88 teachers that participated in the entrepreneurship education program. Results found the satisfaction level was rated 4.58 for the curriculum suitability and 4.67 for the effectiveness of class contents, indicating that teachers were very satisfied with the training program and contents.

The Effects of Flow Experience and Learning Competency on Learning Satisfaction in Gerontological Nursing Virtual Simulation Education (노인간호 가상 시뮬레이션 교육에서 몰입경험, 학습역량이 학습만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of flow experience and learning competency on learning satisfaction after virtual simulation-based nursing practice education for the elderly. The subjects of this study were 72 nursing students and data were collected through online surveys from April 2 to May 7, 2021. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 24.0 program by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, multiple regression analysis. As a result of the study, the learning satisfaction of nursing students after virtual simulation education showed a significant positive correlation with flow experience (r=.656, p<.001) and learning competency (r=.672, p<.001). The most influential factors on learning satisfaction were learning competency (𝛽=.459, p<.001) and flow experience (𝛽=.413, p<.001), and the explanatory power of the model was 60.9%. Therefore, in order to improve learning satisfaction after virtual simulation education, it is suggested to develop ways to promote flow experience in practice and improve individual learning capabilities.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the undergraduate research program(URP) among Korean students. URP is frequently implemented in STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) majors, and this study tested whether the participation of URP was effective in convergence competency, major satisfaction, and academic achievement. Data were collected from 101 participants and 117 non-participants of URP at an A university. The research results showed that the mean scores of convergence competency, major satisfaction, and academic achievement of the URP participating group were significantly higher than those of the non-participating group.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of learning using computer-based science inquiry program. To this end, the three lessons computer-based science inquiry were developed in domain of material's properties. The developed program was put into K middle school located in Seoul and the effects were verified. For the experimental group, the three lessons computer-based science inquiry related to the separation of mixture were introduced, and for the comparison group, the contents presented in the textbook were introduced as a teacher-centered teaching method. To verify the effects of the program, 2-way ANCOVA was performed on positive experiences about science and science core competency, and 2-way ANOVA was performed on academic achievement. As a result of the study, there were significant differences between the two groups in positive experiernces about science and scientific core competencies and academic achievement (p<.05), and group*gender interaction effect was only significant in academic achievement (p<.05). From the results of this study, we could see the possibility of using a computer-based science inquiry program as a chemistry teaching method that enables sustainable scientific inquiry.

The Effects of Humanistic Knowledge and Empathy Ability on Cultural Competence of Nursing students (인문학적 소양과 공감능력이 간호대학생의 문화적 역량에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted in order to examine the effects of humanistic knowledge and empathy ability on cultural competence of nursing students. A convenience sample of 250 nursing students were recruited. The average scores were 2.50 for humanistic knowledge, 3.40 for empathy ability, and 3.33 for cultural competence. Humanistic knowledge had positive correlation with cultural competence. Also, the empathy ability was positively correlated with humanistic knowledge and cultural competence. Finally, cultural competence, empathy ability and level of academic score have shown to influence cultural competence. The research founds that humanistic knowledge, empathy ability and level of academic score influenced cultural competence of nursing students. Therefore, this study provides the basic information for improving the curriculum and quality of nursing for nursing students' cultural competency enhancement.

A Study on the Elementary Informatics Curriculum Design Through Future Competency Analysis (미래 역량 분석을 통한 초등 정보교과 구성 방향성 탐색)

  • Many countries design and implement informatics curriculum based on core competencies to respond to the demands of development and reform in rapidly changing times. In this paper, we developed the core competencies framework of elementary information education by comparing and analyzing the core competencies and suggested the direction of the composition of elementary informatics subjects. We found that social-emotional skills, communication, creativity, responsibility, culture and ethics, problem-solving, collaboration and abstract competencies overlapped among the capabilities presented by each country and institution, and computational thinking and information technology utilization skills in Korea. Therefore, we proposed to reflect the core competencies of the framework in the elementary informatics curriculum. Moreover, we also suggested enhancing problem-solving skills, strengthening social responsibility and cultivating convergent skills to organize the curriculum. We hope that this thesis will expand the necessity of organizing an elementary information curriculum that reflects core competencies in the 2022 revised curriculum.
