Analysis of Radio Distortion in Navigational Aid using Drone (드론을 이용한 항행안전시설 전파왜곡 분석)

  • To overcome the limitation of ground inspection for Navigational Aid, Korea Airport Corporation (KAC) developed a drone system for Navigational Aid inspection. This drone system has the advantage that they can inspect the air radio signal at the perspective of user (aircraft). Since drones have more free flight paths and easier control of flight speeds compared to aircrafts, drones can check sections of suspected airborne radio wave distortions at desired paths and speeds. Recently, with the acceleration of the development around the airport, there is a concern about the deterioration of the quality of radio signal of Navigational Aid. In order to analyze radio distortion of Navigational Aid, a radio wave environmental survey was conducted using drones. When the signal received by each flight path of the drone was measured, the origin of the reflected wave was identified by analyzing the section in which the radio signal was distorted.

  • The management of existing airfield pavement information has currently become difficult and the maintenance cost has increased over time due to the long-term performance. It is needed to develop the method for effective budget allocation and systematic airfield pavement management services. The objectives of this paper are to introduce Micro PAVER, one of the popular pavement management systems, into our management system and customize Micro PAVER based on our environment and pavement management level. This study focused on the analysis on logics and structures of Micro PAVER and customization of important parts in the program using the existing pavement evaluation data and survey method. Customized items selected in this study included the pavement deterioration prediction models, critical PCI, maintenance cost by PCI, maintenance or rehabilitation method and unit cost, and PCI rank.

  • In this paper, an analysis about the elevation angle accuracy degradation of an APAR(Airport Precision Approach Radar) due to the multi-path effect using a phased array antenna was performed. An APAR installed around a runway of airport will be continuously affected in a runway surface of the fixed environment. In this paper, an analysis about the elevation angle accuracy degradation of APAR due to the multi-path effect of runway surface was conducted through a calculation of monopluse slope and sum/difference beam pattern analysis of array antenna. Also, a difference pattern for monopulse to minimize this degradation was optimized in an appropriate configuration to improve a elevation angle accuracy. Finally, a degree of improvement of elevation angle accuracy was confirmed by calculating a monopulse slope including the ground reflection after applying optimized difference patterns of array antenna.

  • Lighting improvements are needed for adequate operation of security installations according to the turn of scientific policing instead of human policing. The basic principles of security lighting is to provide sufficient lighting over a specific area so that anyone moving in or around can be seen easily. Also, in security lighting, illuminance and uniformity are to be considered for clearing of CCTV screen through the lighting improvement. To achieve such goals, each pole is to be considered of the height and the space of luminaries as well as the wattage and the type of lamps. In this paper, the lighting designs show the adequate operations of fence security systems through the actual measurement of illuminance by mock-up and the illuminance analyses for obtaining proper illuminance and uniformity value to keep brightness of CCTV screen able to confirm objects considering characteristics of CCTV monitor by simulations.

  • A discrete event simulation model is developed to evaluate the performances of three different revenue management methods for an air cargo network from Northeast China to North America and Europe. In the first method, a bid price model is applied only to the routes that pass through Incheon. In the second method, the bid price model is applied to all the routes. In third method, bid price and virtual nesting models are applied to the routes that pass through Incheon. The results show that the total revenue significantly increases with the employment of pricing and capacity control. The developed simulation model is a useful research tool to study marketing strategies for air cargo operations.

  • The hand recognition technique is widely used to the economic input method for user interfacing environment. However, the most of the techniques have the restricted with recognize that only a fixed background and a regular pattern. This restriction character has brought a difficult problem to apply at variable application class and to process restriction environment. In this paper, we propose a virtual input system that extracting about hand region information that is not restricted by background image and also that can be followed the location information. This research could be used some system demanded by input of a person such as control system at airport and pavilion and economic virtual input system in class of industrial computer and various kinds control-system.

Development of Landfill Material by Utilizing Waste Lime

  • The feasibility of using waste lime, which is produced as a byproduct during the manufacture of sodium carbonate in Inchon, Korea. as a stabilization admixture with weathered granite soil was investigated. Laboratory tests were conducted to determine the chemical composition, pH, compaction characteristics, unconfined compression strength. X-ray diffraction analysis of waste lime and weathered granite soil admixtures. Based on the present tests, it appears that the admixtures are environmentally safe and can be used as landfill material.

  • In order for future UAVs to be used as means of transportation, a simulation environment in which they can be tested in advance is essential. Accordingly, to demonstrate future air transport systems among six future industries of Chungcheongbuk-do, a simulation environment was condensed and built, focusing on virtual safety corridor connecting Osong Station and Cheongju Airport.

  • 공용 주차장, 공항, 호텔, 쇼핑센터 등 로컬 회스폿 서비스들을 이용자의 별도 개입 없이 자동으로 제공받게 하려면 텔레매틱스 로컬 핫스폿 서비스에 대한 미들웨어가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 이 미들웨어에 홈네트워크의 UPnP 미들웨어를 적용 제안하고 홈네트워크와 텔레매틱스 환경에서 UPnP의 차이점을 기술한다. 텔레매틱스 로컬 핫스폿 서비스 시나리오를 기술하고 UPnP의 서비스 발견에 대한 영향을 평가한다.

  • The purpose of this study is to present a fundamental data for evaluating aircraft noise of building site development. By the field experiments and the predicted equal noise level contours using the INM program, actual condition in the building site development arranged district was investigated. In order to get the results, Analysis of factors effected on noise level, sound level on the rate of increase to aircraft demand and difference on the aircraft noise levels according to floor level in apartment house was carried out. As a result the influence of the take-off and landing direction were appeared greatly. The influences of the height at receiving point, movement number of aircraft and increase to aircraft demand were appeared small And the influence of 1 day average WECPNL must be considered.
