Qualitative Case Study on Life of non-disabled Adolescent of Parents with Intellectual Disability (지적장애 부모를 둔 비장애 청소년의 삶에 관한 질적 사례연구)

  • In this study, it investigates the life of normal adolescents who have parents with intellectual disability and their difficulties which suggested social welfare meanings of this study. In order to conduct wide and in-depth analysis on cases by utilizing the characteristics of qualitative case studies, it describes and analyzes the intellectual disability parents' normal children in detail from the viewpoint of an insider through in-depth interviews, various sources and diverse data collecting methods. As for the subject of this study, both parents should be persons with intellectual disability and their child shall be non-disabled and at least a high school student or older. Through the intentional sampling, five late adolescents who were in high school, all males participated in the study. The data collection process had been conducted from January 2014 to May, which is commonly utilized for qualitative case studies, and comparative analysis between cases were practiced for analysis. For credibility of the research results, it obtained severity at each stage by meeting the standard. The analysis results were largely divided into "growth story of non-disabled adolescents" and "life of non-disabled adolescents". Nine upper categories analyzed the common features in each case. The nine categories were "no one tells me to study", "advance while learning the sense of academic achievement", "hide into my own space", "having to grown up early", "different parents but same love", "relatives raised me", "have a friend who accepts me as I am", "being pressed by poverty", and "standing on a knife edge of being hurt and taking heart". Based on the in-depth research on normal teens that have intellectually disabled parents, theoretically speaking, this study expanded the prospect of study on intellectually disabled to their normal, intellectual teenage children. As for practical significance, understanding their parents' intellectual disability, parenting technique training, case management from the community level is suggested. Rregular real condition research of the families, allowance system for economic support et al. is suggested in policy aspect.

A Study on Utilization Plan of 'Old Stone Wall' Registered as a Cultural Property Focused on an Old Stone Wall in Sang-Hak Village ('옛담장' 등록문화재의 활용 방안 연구 정읍 상학마을 '다무락'이 들려주는 이야기를 중심으로)

  • Recently old stone walls were designated as registered cultural properties that meant an extension of categories about cultural properties from a spot area to whole area. Moreover given the changing situation of residential pattern, which is due to rapid social change, this designation can be seen as a significant measure to keep as intact as possible traditional landscapes in agricultural and fishing villages. In this paper, I analyze the symbol system and meaning of old stone walls and attempt to pick out the cultural elements which are related to them. These days we have made efforts to various aspects for which make traditional cultural resources into cultural contents. But many studies had done before emphasized aspects for beauty only. Especially existing studies about an old stone wall was mainly focused on architectural interpretation and tourist route. So we need to build a plot around oral research and need a creative approach for sharing with tourists. Cultural contents combine the original form, potential and capabilities with media by detecting original form of culture and finding out the worth and meaning. In this paper examined the probability of using by investigating a stone wall in Sang-hak Village that is related with recovering of places to live in contemporary society and finding cultural contents. I suggest more creative ways to make cultural properties into tourist resources by considering the possibilities of place marketing using storytelling, based on an analysis of data gathered.

The Narrative of Catastrophe and the Ethics of Infection in the NETFLIX Drama, The Sweet Home (넷플릭스 드라마 <스위트홈>에 나타난 파국의 서사와 감염의 윤리)

  • In this paper, the basic narrative of The Sweet Home is the story that the residents of the apartment fight and survive the monsters in the isolated circumstances from the outside. This paper analysed the narrative and revealed the characteristics of the NETFLIX drama, The Sweet Home, and dealt with the ethics of contagion, core issue of the drama. Firstly, in the drama Sweet Home, the boundary between the men and the monsters collapses from the contagion. The drama shows the aspects of the apocalyptical world through the optical images, and reveals the main contagion cause is the desire and fury of the human to dominate the others. In the drama, we can see the duality that the characters sometimes stand in solidarity with, and often abuse the others. This story reflects the times after 2000s that the boundary between the man and the monster eclipses. Secondly, the drama shows that the ethics of the others popping up after the contagion is violent and thus can go to the totalitarianism. When the residents are shot by the troopers of the nation, the governmental authority shows its brutality. In this situation, the residents recognize their past behaviors and embrace the others. However, in the point that the characters' selfless behaviors could cover up the complaints and the fury of young generations after 2000s, The Sweet Home is a problematic drama.

The Social Dilemma of Chinese Village Community: Focusing on the Film (중국 마을 공동체의 사회적 딜레마: 영화 <빈관>을 중심으로)

  • This study aimed to examine the dilemma of rural China under rapid urbanization process after economic reform, by paying attention to the problem of the order of village community and the expression of individual desires depicted in the film with a rural background. To this end, the narrative analysis, which is suitable for exploring the story structure and expression style of the text, was conducted to examine the community order and ethics, patriarchy and paternity, and the expression of desires of subject. In the film, closed space and villagers, who are disciplined by community customs, local culture, and formality of the rule of manners, are depicted. The film is covered in a form of mystery movie dealing with the deaths of members of the village community. However, the film talks about the rise of the Imaginary desire of subject against the symbolic rules of community order and ethics through the puzzle pieces story according to the perspectives of the characters. In conclusion, through the narrative analysis, it was possible to examine the implications of weakened communal discipline and paternity of the countryside by the rapid urbanization of China, and implications of the lethargy and neurosis of the subjects.

The Modern Representations of Prince Hodong stories (호동왕자 서사의 근대적 재현 양상 연구)

  • What this study aims is to analyze that how the stories of Prince Hodong are represented in modern historical fictions. The stories have been reproduced in many forms such as TV dramas, films, fictions, plays. It can be depicted that the narratives are indeed national and popular. Interestingly, however, the description of Hodong has not been found in pre-modern documents or fictions. The story began to appear and became popular in 1935 by Yoon Baek Nam. It can be explained that the narratives are the one of the example of the invented tradition since it became visible in modern period. Yoon, Lee Tae Joon, and Yu Chi Jin have constructed the character of Hodong what we are familiar with. Yoon depicted Hodong as a romatic lover with the motif of a lovers suicide. Lee and Yu put a context of nationalism by explaining Nakrang as a Nakrangkun of Hansagun(the four colonies of China). These are pure invention of the writers which cannot be found in The History of Three Kingdoms(三國史記). These characters are closely related with the surrounding of their own society. Yoon shows how the past can be seen as a nostalgic object by modern aesthetic perspective. Lee illustrates the ambiguous thought of a colonial intellectual who (anti)internalizes the ideology of militarism. Yu tries to find the way to recover the muscularity of the nation by re-colouring the memory of the past. These, the representations created in various contexts, make our common knowledges of Prince Hodong nowadays.

A study of Convergence Relationship between Post-Modern aspects and storytelling from Imaging Content Production (영상 콘텐츠를 통한 포스트모던과 스토리텔링의 융합관계성에 관한 연구)

  • The age of digital content mainstream consumers in the era of smart technology is expanding compared to the past. Consumers are taking a leading role in the production and distribution of contents in various forms. At the center of this is a post-modern social structure and space that break down the boundaries among Personal Digital Device, contents, production and consumption as a medium. Content rejects the existence of the same thing in the world. The tendency of the main consumer segment and the provision of post modern storytelling that penetrates it creates a huge industry group with various forms of contents. In order to carry out this study, with analyzing examples of movies, games, and advertisements, we found the fact that the center of content creation for individuals made their unique style, excluding generality. As a result of this research, the relationship between the user-driven digital contents and post modern storytelling have been revised the awareness about the possibility of various convergence in the field of contents production.

A Study on the Social Implication and Reflection on the Disaster in the Film - focusing on 'The Host' (영화 속 재난에 나타난 사회적 함의와 그 성찰 -<괴물>을 중심으로-)

  • The Study on the Film, as the one of the main fields in the cultural studies, has the significant meaning in analyzing our society in that culture represents the realities of the present society. Film is the metaphorically expressed text and the specific space where a variety of discourses cross. The director's social consciousness projected in the film must have the ultimate significance through the dialectic relation between the intention of the director and the interpretation of the audience, not through the his one-sided message to the audience. This paper focuses on the analysis of the movie 'The Host', which is evaluated to show the meaningful social phenomena related to 'disaster' among the recent movies in Korea. The Host which is characteristic of 'the open structure' can be referred to as the film reflecting the imperial order prevalent in the colonial society.

  • In the virtual space in which human imagination exists, a great deal of games and animation contents have been developed and shown. Games and animations are performing a role as an unrealistic representative, and creating abundant virtual culture with variety of human life. A representative, that is, a main character is being completed with external design, unique personality and ability, and action in the story. This study is expecting that a game character might develop into motion acting for emotional situation from the simple action. As giving a game character a role as a medium to express various circumstances and emotions, choosing motions from a pantomimist and applying them to 3D character, and expressed according to the motion acting. Motion acting is extended from the basic motion into the emotional phases such as joy, anger, sorrow and pleasure. The motion acting expressed from various viewpoints is suggested, as communicating clear message through emotional acting contrary to the symbolic language.

  • 최근 인터넷 공간에서 사용자가 직접 만들어 내는 컨텐츠, 즉 UCC (user created contents, 이하 UCC)에 대한 관심이 그 어느 때보다 증가하고 있다. UCC란 기존의 온라인 컨텐츠 제공업자와 달리 일반 사용자에 의해 만들어져 게시판과 같은 도구를 사용하여 온라인 상에 존재하였다. 그런데 UCC 가 최근 들어 더욱 관심을 받고 있는 이유에는 사용자들이 직접 컨텐츠를 만들어 개제하는 것이 용이하도록 변화된 환경의 조성 및 컨텐츠 제작을 쉽게 할 수 있는 저작도구가 지속적으로 만들어지고 확산되었기 때문이다. 결과적으로 사용자 측면에서는 다른 사람들과 소통하는 통로가 확대되었고, 사업자 측면에서는 보다 컨텐츠를 풍부하게 확보할 수 있는 환경이 열린 것이다. 본 연구는 구비문학의 이론을 통하여 UCC의 활성화에 영향을 미치는 요소를 탐색적으로 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 구비 문학은 텍스트를 향유하는 사람들 사이에서 공유되는 이야기로서 그 생산 환경의 매커니즘과 텍스트의 발전 양상이 UCC와 매우 유사하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 자료의 분석과 이론적 모형의 수립 과정 전반에 있어 구비 문학의 이론과 접근 방법을 사용하였다. UCC가 매우 활발하게 생산되는 주제를 선정하여, 그 주제에 해당하는 커뮤니티의 특성, 사용자들 간의 관계, 사용자 정책 등 차이가 있는 세 온라인 커뮤니티를 선정하였다. 선정된 온라인 커뮤니티의 게시판의 포스트와 댓글을 프로그램을 통하여 수집하고 분석하였으며, 그 분석된 데이터를 바탕으로 사용자를 선정하여 심층 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 심층 인터뷰 데이터는 근거이론은 이용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 UCC 확산이라는 새로운 인터넷 패러다임 속에서 이를 구비 문학의 이론으로 분석했다는 점에서 학문적 의의가 있다. 또한 성격이 다른 세 개의 사이트에서의 UCC를 비교함으로써 UCC를 기반으로 한 사이트 설계의 가이드 라인이 될 수 있는 실용적 의의를 가진다.
