This paper concerns several versions of conditionalization. In particular, I will examine the relationship between Jeffrey conditionalization and the second order conditionalization concerning updating higher order credences. In section 2, I suggest explicitly what Jeffrey conditionalization and the second order conditionalization are. I will argue in section 3 that Jeffrey conditionalization conflicts with van Fraassen's Reflection Principle while the second order conditionalization doesn't. And I will also argue in section 4 that under some situations, Jeffrey conditionalization may lead agents to Moorean absurdity while the second conditionalization may not. As a result, I will claim that Jeffrey conditionalization is better than the second order contionalization at updating our higher order credences.

In this paper, an systematic approach is presented, in which the mixed variational theorem is employed to incorporate independent transverse shear stresses into a classical higher-order shear deformation theory(HSDT). The HSDT displacement field is taken to amplify the benefits of using a classical shear deformation theory such as simple and straightforward calculation and numerical efficiency. Those independent transverse shear stresses are taken from the fifth-order polynomial-based zig-zag theory where the fourth-order transverse shear strains can be obtained. The classical displacement field and independent transverse shear stresses are systematically blended via the mixed variational theorem. Resulting strain energy expressions are named as an enhanced higher-order shear deformation theory via mixed variational theorem(EHSDTM). The EHSDTM possess the same computational advantage as the classical HSDT while allowing for improved through-the-thickness stress and displacement variations via the post-processing procedure. Displacement and stress distributions obtained herein are compared to those of the classical HSDT, three-dimensional elasticity, and available data in literature.

In this paper, we analyze LM-MIMO (load-modulation multiple-input multiple-output) system with single RF chain. And then, we confirm that load modulation technique can support generation of high-order m-PSK modulation and m-QAM modulation in LM-MIMO system. Finally we evaluate performance of LM-MIMO system with load modulation. Conventional MIMO system requires a number of RF chains for expansion of MIMO dimension. A number of RF chains can cause various problems. On the other hand, although LM-MIMO system is expanded, LM-MIMO system requires single RF chain only. Therefore, LM-MIMO system has low-complexity and low power consumption. As results, we can confirm that load modulation of T-model can modulate high-order m-PSK and m-QAM singal. Also, we can confirm that $4{\times}4$ LM-MIMO system using load modulation has a similar performance to conventional $4{\times}4$ MIMO system.

In this paper, the higher order FDTD(Finite-Difference Time-Domain) method is used to obtain the frequency response characteristics of the cylindrical metamaterial slab. FDTD method is one of strongest electromagnetic numerical method which is widely used to analyze the metamaterial structure because of its simplicity and the dispersive FDTD equation which has the dispersive effective dielectric constant and permeability are derived to analyze the metamaterials. This derived dispersive FDTD equation has no errors in analyzing the dielectric materials but there are some time and frequency errors in case of analyzing the metamaterials. We used the higher order FDTD method to obtain the accurate frequency response of the metamaterials. Comparisons between the dispersive FDTD method and the higher order FDTD method are performed in this paper also. From the results, we concluded that more accurate frequency response for various metamaterials applications can be obtained using the proposed method in this paper.

Generally, the Wheeler cap method is used to measure the efficiency of small antennas. This method often gives an unreliable efficiency when the antenna has a complicated operating principle. However, if the high-order circuit model which more closely represents the input impedance of the antenna is used in Wheeler cap method, then more accurate efficiency can be achieved. In this paper, we propose a novel method that can build the high-order circuit model using transformer circuits with the genetic algorithm(GA). To efficiently reduce the searching space in the GA and improve the convergence of the GA process, we suggest a novel scheme that finds appropriate initial values. Finally we verify the proposed method by measuring the efficiency of some passive RFID tag antennas.
Most of speech analysis methods developed up to date are based on second order statistics, and one of the biggest drawback of these methods is that they show dramatical performance degradation in noisy environments. On the contrary, the methods using higher order statistics(HOS), which has the property of suppressing Gaussian noise, enable robust feature extraction in noisy environments. In this paper we propose a text-independent speaker identification system using higher order statistics and compare its performance with that using the conventional second-order-statistics-based method in both white and colored noise environments. The proposed speaker identification system is based on the vector quantization approach, and employs HOS-based voiced/unvoiced detector in order to extract feature parameters for voiced speech only, which has non-Gaussian distribution and is known to contain most of speaker-specific characteristics. Experimental results using 50 speaker's database show that higher-order-statistics-based method gives a better identificaiton performance than the conventional second-order-statistics-based method in noisy environments.
Bending and vibration results for a laminated plate base on a simplified higher-order plate theory with four variables are presented. Assuming a constant in-plane rotation tensor through the thickness in Reddy's higher-order shear deformation theory it is shown that a simpler higher-order theory can be obtained with the reduction of one variable without significant loss in the accuracy. This simple higher-order shear deformation theory is then used for predicting the natural frequencies and deflection of simply-supported laminated composite plates. The results obtained for antisymmetrical laminated composite plates compare favorably with third-order and first-order shear deformation theory. The information presented should be useful to composite-structure designers, to researchers seeking to obtain better correlation between theory and experiment and to numerical analysts in checking out their programs.

This paper deals with the design and performance of the adaptive equalizer using high order statistics in order to improve the transmission characteristics of multipath fading channel. The multipath propagational phenomenon occurred in digital radio transmission causes the distortion and ISI of receiving signal. These are main reasons to increase the bit error rate and degrade the performance of receivers. In this paper, the adaptive equalization algorithm using high order statistics of received signal is used instead of CMA algorithm, Bussgang and Godard which are known widely. The performance of this algorithm (residualisi, recovered constellation, calculation) is presented varing SNR. As the result of the computer simulation, equalizer algorithm using high order statistics is better than CMA in the range of low SNR, $10{\sim}20dB$. Therefore, considering the actual communication systems which use the range of $14{\sim}20$ SNR, the adaptive equalizer using high order statistics can be used in the real multipath fading environment.
For long-range communication in deep water, low carrier frequency is efficient due to a decrease in transmission loss. However, there is a limitation in that the data rate decreases due to a narrow bandwith. In order to increase the data rate in an environment with a limited bandwidth, it is necessary to design a higher-order modulation scheme. This paper analyzes the long-range communication data modulated by higher-order modulation schemes. The long-range communication experiment (23 km ~) was conducted in East Sea in October 2020. During the experiment, a vertical line array was utilized and communication sequences were modulated by Phase Shift Keying (PSK) and Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) schemes and transmitted by a towed source. In more detail, PSK modulation consists of quadrature PSK and 8PSK, QAM modulation consists of 8QAM and 16QAM. Time reversal processing is applied to mitigate inter-symbol interference by utilizing the correlation between received signals and channel impulse responses. All modulation schemes show successful results at 23 km range, demonstrating the feasibility of higher-order modulation in long-range communication.

High order filters are usually realized by cascading second order stages. In this paper, a simple method of pole-zero pairing in the high order band-pass and band-reject filter realization of the elliptic functions is proposed for the enhancement of overall dynamic range. Futrhermore, the optimum sequence of the various biquads of high-pass notch, low-pass notch and symmetrical notch etc., is developed for the elliptic band-pass and band-reject filters.
