Seismic P-$\Delta$ Effects of Slender RC Columns in Earthquake Analysis (지진하중을 받는 철근콘크리트 장주의 P-$\Delta$ 효과)

  • Different from the previous studies which investigated seismic P-$\Delta$ effect in slender columns though comparison of response spectra according to stability coefficients obtained from the analyses based on the assumed moment-curvature relationship, the axial force and P-$\Delta$ effect in RC columns are investigated on the basis of the layered section method which can effectively consider the changes of stiffness and yield strength due to the application of axial force in RC members. Practical ranges of slenderness and stability coefficient are assumed, and sixty sets of horizontal/vertical earthquake inputs are used in the analysis. From the parametric study, it is noted that the maximum deformation of the slender RC column is hardly affected by P-$\Delta$ effect or vortical earthquake but dominantly affected by the applied axial force. Therefore, it can be concluded that no additional consideration for the P-$\Delta$ effect and vortical earthquake is required in the seismic design of a slender RC column if the axial force effect is taken into account in the analysis and design procedures.

Grid-based Location Service Spot scheme for optimized routing path on VANET (VANET 환경에서의 경로 최적화를 위한 그리드 기반 위치 정보 서비스 스팟 기법)

  • Location Service is required in position-based routing for VANET to provide position information. We propose Grid-based Location service spot(GLSS) scheme for optimized routing path to improve accessibility and load balance in location service. Specific area is defined as Location service spot(LSS) on each grid in this scheme, and all nodes in the grid geocast its location update message and location request message to each LSS. Location request messages are flooded throughout LSSs, location reply messages establish optimized route from the source grid to the destination grid. We evaluated GLSS which establishes optimized route on the grid comparing GPSR in consideration of road condition and geographical features.

  • The FLC(Fuzzy Logic Controller) is stronger to the disturbance and has the excellent characteristic to the overshoot of the initialized value than the classical controller, and also can carry out the proper control being out of all relation to the mathematical model and parameter value of the system. But it has the restriction which can't adopt the environment changes of the control system because of generating the fuzzy control rule through an expert's experience and the fixed value of the once determined control rule, and also can't converge correctly to the desired value because of haying the minute error of the controller output value. Now there are many suggested methods to eliminate the minute error, we also suggest the GA-FNNIC(Genetic Algorithm Fuzzy Neural Network Intelligence Controller) combined FLC with NN(Neural Network) and GA(Genetic Algorithm). In this paper, we compare the suggested GA-FNNIC with FLC and analyze the output characteristics, convergence speed, overshoot and rising time. Finally we show that the GA-FNNIC converge correctly to the desirable value without any error.

A Study on the Effect of Soil Properties on Structural Behavior of Fixed Jacket Type Offshore Structure (고정식 자켓형 해양구조물의 지반 물성치에 따른 구조 응답에 관한 연구)

  • For a fixed jacket type offshore structure directly supported by the seabed, the structural behavior of offshore structure depends on the soil properties. Soil properties affect on the stiffness of the piles and the boundary condition in the structural analysis. The structural analysis is performed using PSI (Pile-Soil Interaction) suggested in the code and design rule. PSI analysis of the jacket structure is carried out after various soil types are selected according to the soil properties like internal friction angle, undrained shear strength, unit weight and so on. Three types of soil are selected by varying strength for a clay and sand, respectively. The structural analysis of the jacket structure is performed using these soils. The results about axial and lateral reaction force and the stress and displacement on the structure are compared. As a results, the structural response is smaller as the soil becomes more stiff. In conclusion, it is confirmed that the structural response of fixed jacket type offshore platform supported by seabed is sensitive to the change of soil properties.

  • This paper presents an Implementation of digital high-performance position sensorless control system of Reluctance Synchronous Motor(RSM) drives with Direct Torque Control(DTC). The system consists of stator flux observer, speed and torque estimator, two digital hysteresis controllers, an optimal switching look-up table, Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor(IGBT) voltage source inverter, and TMS320C31 DSP board. The stator flux observer Is based on the combined voltage and current model with stator flux feedback adaptive control of which inputs are current and voltage sensed on motor terminal for wide speed range. In order to prove the suggested sensorless control algorithm for industrial field application, we have some simulation and actual experiment at low and high speed range. The developed high-performance speed control by fully digital system are shown a good response characteristic of control results and high performance features using 1.0[kW] RSM having 2.57 reluctance ratio of $L_d/L_q$.

  • This paper resents a control approach for designing a fuzzy-PI controller for a synchronous generator excitation and SVC system A combination of thyristor-controlled reactors and fixed capacitors (TCR-FC) type SVC is recognized as having the must fiexible control and high speed response, which has been widely utilized in power systems, is considered and designed to improve the response of a synchronous generator, as well as controlling the system voltage A Fuzzy-PI controller for SVC system was proposed in this paper. The PI gain parameters of the proposed Fuzzy-PI controller which is a special type of PI ones are self-tuned by fuzzy inference technique. It is natural that the fuzzy inference technique should be barred on humans intuitions and empirical knowledge. Nonetheless, the conventional ones were not so. Therefore, In this paper, the fuzzy inference technique of PI gains using MMGM(Min Max Gravity Method) which is very similar to humans inference procedures, was presented and allied to the SVC system. The system dynamic responses are examined after applying all small disturbance condition.

An Error Recovery Mechanism for Communications with Reliability and Transport Control for Media Access in Sensor Network (센서 네트워크에서의 매체제어를 위한 전송제어 및 신뢰성 있는 통신을 위한 에러 복구 기법)

  • In sensor network, the importance of transporting data with reliability is growing gradually to support communications. Data flow from sink to nodes needs reliability for the control or management, that is very sensitive and intolerable, however relatively, data flow from nodes to sink is tolerable. In this paper, with emphasis of the data flow from sink to nodes, we proposed the mechanism that establishes confidence interval for transport. Establishing confidence interval herby-hop, not end to end, if errors happen or there's missing data, this mechanism recovers them with selective acknowledgement using fixed window. In addition, this mechanism supports franc congestion control depending on the buffer condition. Through the simulation, we showed that this mechanism has an excellent performance for error recovery in sensor network.

  • The present paper describes an application of UA(Uncertainty Analysis) to seakeeping model test, basically according to the Performance Test Code of ASME(American Society of Mechanical Engineers), in which all the possible error sources involved in the preparation of test, calibration of instruments, data acquisition and analysis are quantified, and summed up with error propagation coefficients to the final uncertainties. The differences between the static test such as resistance and propulsion test and the dynamic test like seakeeping test are clearly identified during all the procedures of UA and asymmetric bias errors are considered. The DRE(data reduction equation) subject to present UA are the heave and pitch response amplitude operator and nondimensionalized absolute frequency. The usefulness of UA in seakeeping test were confirmed not only for quantifying errors and improving measurement accuracy but also for the validation of various seakeeping analysis tools.

  • In this study, shape design and material selection were carried out for a two-stage pressure-reducing regulator to compensate for the shortcomings of a one-stage mechanical decompression regulator. The shape of the contact surface of the depressurization unit was considered, material was selected, and the shape was designed to compensate for the pulsation and slow response through the two-stage decompression and to solve the problem of high pressure deviation. In terms of airtightness, the deformation amount of TPU showed a small amount of displacement of up to 15.82%. Considering the fact that it is applicable to various hydrogen fuel supply systems by securing universality by applying electronic solenoids to the second pressure reduction, magnetic materials were selected. The hydrogen embrittlement and corrosion resistance were evaluated to verify the plating process. Surface corrosion did not occur in only the case of Cr plating. The elongation during the corrosion process was compared using a tensile test, and there was a difference within 2%.

A Secure Routing Scheme for Wireless Sensor Network with a Mobile Sink (이동 싱크를 가진 무선 센서 네트워크의 안전한 라우팅 기법)

  • Previous secure routing protocols for wireless sensor networks assume that a sink is static. In many cases, however, a sink operated by man or vehicle is moving. A mobile sink creates a lot of technical problems such as reconfiguration of routing path exposure of sink location. and selection of secure access point node, which are not considered by many previous researches. In this paper, we propose a new secure routing scheme for solving such problems using hi-directional hash chain and delegation nodes of grid structure. This scheme provides a secure routing path and prevents attacker from recognizing the location of a mobile sink in sensor networks. This new method reduces the resource requirements compared to the cashed routing schemes. Simulation results also show that the system is secure and efficient enough.
