Image Restoration using Switching Filter in Mixed Noise Environment (복합잡음 환경에서 스위칭 필터를 이용한 영상 복원)

  • Recently, with the increase in use of digital equipment in various fields, the importance of image and signal processing is increasing. However, many types of noise are generated during transmission and reception of digital signal, causing errors. For this reason, noise removal is mandatorily performed during pre-processing phase in many fields. In the present paper, noise is classified through noise evaluation, and noise removal is performed to remove impulse noise and noise with AWGN-added noise. And, proposed is an algorithm which utilizes modified Gaussian filter and directional effective pixels according to noise type. Simulation results show superior noise-removal characteristics, and for objective evaluation, compared with conventional methods.

  • We develop a diagnostic system to monitor failures in an engine-assembly line. Existing techniques such as sensory analysis, time domain analysis, frequency analysis, and statistical analysis have limitations in the diagnosis of engine-assembly failure when there are abnormal vibration waveforms (crashing and damping signals) during the assembly. We use a wavelet technique to deal with crashing and damping signals. We also implement a new technique for developing diagnostic rules from sensor data, and we demonstrate its validity.

  • 최근 강화된 국내외의 배출가스 규제 조건을 충족시키기 위해, 사용자의 요구대로 연료의 분사시기와 분사량을 조절할 수 있는 CRDI ECU 제어 알고리즘의 개발이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 산업용 CRDI 엔진 전용 ECU에 적용할 수 있는 노킹 판별 및 엔진 밸런스 보정이 가능한 노킹 분석 시뮬레이터를 개발하였다. 개발한 노킹 분석 시뮬레이터의 결과를 OBD-II 표준을 사용하여 차량 위주의 진단기를 개발하여 운전자가 직접 차량을 진단할 수 있는 운전자 중심의 진단 서비스를 제공하고자 한다. 이를 위해 자동차 고장진단 신호 및 센서 출력 신호를 유선시스템과 무선 시스템인 블루투스 모듈을 이용하여 실시간 통신이 제공 될 수 있는 OBD-II 진단기 S/W 설계 방안을 제안함으로써 차량의 연비를 향상시키고, 유해 배출가스의 발생을 최소화하여 엔진 효율성의 개선 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

  • National Radio Research Agency(RRA) has legislated technical regulations of telecommunication equipments. These technical regulations are related to safety of operators and users, service quality, accessibility for the disabled, interoperability and network connection of terminal equipment. Also, RRA drives the establishment or amendment of technical regulations for terminal equipment considering the evolution of ICT technicology and diversification of services. In 2013, RRA researched the amendment of technical regulations in relation to terminal equipment, which are related to the measurement frequency for signal band power, unwanted signal power, pulse shape.

An Efficient BIST for Mixed Signal Circuits (혼성 신호 회로에 대한 효과적인 BIST)

  • For mixed signal circuits that integrate both analog and digital blocks onto the same chip, testing the mixed circuits has become the bottleneck. Since most of mixed signal circuits are functionally tested, mixed signal testing needs expensive automatic test equipments for test input generation and response acquisition. In this paper, a new efficient BIST is developed which can be used for mixed signal circuits. In the new BIST, only faults on embedded resistances, capacitances and its combinations are considered. To guarantee the quality of chips, the new BIST performs both voltage testing and phase testing. Using these two testing modes, all the faults are detected. In order to support this technique, the voltage detector and the phase detector are developed. Experimental results prove the efficiency of the new BIST.

  • This paper proposes a reliability enhancement of industrial real-time Ethernet using master redundancy method for NPPs(Nuclear Power Plants). In this paper, Ethernet Powerlink is investigated for distributed control systems for NPPs considering real-time and reliability performance. The proposed method can reduce a master switch-over time using PReq signal when Ethernet Powerlink master(Managing Node) failure was occurred. Using the OPNET simulation results, the performance enhancement of master switch-over time of Ethernet Powerlink is verified for NPPs.

  • The railway signalling system plays an essential role in the safe and efficient train operation as serving control functions of train operation intervals and train routes. The reliability and safety of the system are very important because the failure of the railway signalling system can lead to train collision or derailment as well as train operation stop. Until now, in railway signalling system the conventional wayside signal mode has been used generally. There are, however, the risk of accidents such as human mistakes caused by that the driver identifies the signal lamp status and controls train speed with the naked eye. It is also necessary to refurbish the obsolete system. Thereby, It is being effective that the onboard signal mode has been recently introduced and applied in order to transmit the speed control information to train by using the computer and communication equipment. It is necessary to switch over the system in a way while providing passengers with an operation service to replace the obsolete signal system. In this paper, we verify the cases through trial assessment which are solved by the way of adding specific functionalities in the problems of interference among the procedure of switch-over processes and a serial of processes for system verification while a train is operated in the new system in parallel to the existing system.

  • The Sequence Of Event (SOE) system used in nuclear power plants is a part of the Plant Data Acquisition System (PDAS). The SOE system of the existing nuclear power plant shares the computer H/W and S/W with PDAS, and requires more complicated structure using three processors to provide the events or trip signals. Moreover, there are high potential of collision between synchronization signals and data transmitted to the Plant Computer System (PCS) when the synchronization signals are sent from PCS to the three SOE processors. When this collision happens the SOE system will break down, thus it is not possible to analyze the trend of events or trips. This paper issues the limitations item of the existing SOE system and proposes the novel SOE system using single processor. And the test system for proposed SOE system is designed, implemented and tested.

  • It is necessary that Fail-Safe Seaway technology providing a continuous navigation solution though fault of navigation system is occurred in sea. This paper focus on signal processing of GPS receiver, one of receivers using the software radio technology to implement a integrated radio navigation system including satellite-based and ground-based navigation systems. It is difficult to implement the software GPS receivers using a commercial processor because of the heavy computational burden for processing the GPS signals in real time. This paper proposes an efficient multi-bit GPS signal processing scheme to reduce the computational burden for processing the GPS signals in the software GPS receiver. The proposed scheme uses a compression concept of the multi-bit replica signals and patterned look-up table method to generate the correlation value between the GPS signals and the replica signals.

A Study of Rotor Fault Detection for the Induction Motor Using Axial Leakage Magnetic Flux (축방향 누설자속 측정에 의한 유도전동기의 회전자 결함검출에 관한 연구)

  • The second part of paper related rotor failure is to evaluate that the axial magnetic flux measurement could be used as a tool of the condition monitoring system for the induction motor and to develope the diagnostic algorithm for the various fault in the electric motors. The magnetic leakage flux signal is captured by the flux coil located at the end of motor without the disturbance of the operation. And the signal is analyzed both time and frequency domain to detect the failure of the motor. Specific signature can be described in tin and frequency domain for each fault of the motor. The experimental test found that the rotor failures - broken rotor bar, broken end ing and rotor eccentricity, could be detected from the spectrum with high resolution. The method of detecting the rotor fault was found by analysing the specific frequency and the sideband of the rotor bar pass frequency from axial leakage flux spectrum. In addition the optimal flux coil and measuring equipment for the axial leakage flux measurement was verified and the diagnostic method for the detection of the rotor related failure was developed.
