  • A support system which allows operator to check the condition of a vessel and to warn the sea risk in order to prevent accidents of leisure boats, is required. Therefore, this paper proposes a navigational safety support system to ensure the safety of vessels by monitoring and managing the status of those ships. In developing a system process, each developed equipment is integrated and verified whether the functional, compositional and operational algorithms are working properly according to the designed object.

  • To control arousal level using physiological index, electrodermal activity signal was detected and separated into skin impedance level and response. Arousal state decision and control algorithm was studied to implement and evaluate real time portable arousal control system. The implemented system can detect and control arousal state from initial drowsy state. This system will be applicable to the evaluation of the effect of warning signal, driver's drowsy detecting system, and sleep study.

  • Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is the leading cause of unexplained death of an apparently healthy infant aged one month to one year. This paper presents an infant monitoring system which detects the movement of infants to prevent SIDS. The proposed system is composed of a movement tenting part and a motion detecting part. The movement sensing part uses a tri-axis accelerometer. The motion detecting part is based on the LVQ algorithm. The proposed monitoring system connects to an alarm for alerting a parent when an infant is in a predetermined position. We evaluated the performance of the monitoring system through experiments.

  • 이 기술은 CCTV의 본연의 목적인 범죄 예방을 좀 더 효과적이고 효율적으로 하기 위해 개발하였다. 먼저 사용 공간에 제약을 줄이기 위해 와이파이 기반의 CCTV를 사용하기로 하였다. 그리고 단순히 영상을 수집하는 것이 아니라 아래와 같은 알고리즘을 영상에 적용하여 범죄 예방을 위한 판단을 좀 더 빠르고 정확하게 할 수 있도록 하였다. 첫 번째로 배경에서 객체들을 분리한 뒤 각각의 객체들을 labeling하여 서로를 구분하였다. 그 후 특징점을 이용해 각 객체들을 추적한 뒤 객체마다 적당한 관심영역을 설정한다. 관심영역에서 색을 이용한 외부인 침입 감지기능과 객체의 속도와 방향을 이용한 폭력적인 행동 감지기능을 적용하였다. 더 나아가 사용자의 편의를 위해 서버/클라이언트 모델을 사용하여 외부인 침입이나 폭력이 감지되면 서버가 클라이언트에게 경고 메시지와 함께 현재 상태를 이미지로 보낼 수 있도록 하였고 클라이언트가 원한다면 언제든지 실시간 영상도 볼 수 있도록 하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 사람의 개입 없이 실내 환경에서 마스크 미 착용자를 스스로 발견한 후 방역수칙위반 사실에 대한 경고와 함께 마스크 착용을 권고하는 인공지능 기반의 자율주행 서비스 로봇을 개발한다. 제안한 시스템에서 로봇은 동시적 위치 추적 지도 작성 기법인 SLAM(Simultaneous Localization and Mapping)기술을 이용하여 지도를 작성한 후 사용자가 제공한 웨이포인트(Waypoint)를 기반으로 자율주행한다. 또한, YOLO(You Only Look Once) 알고리즘을 이용한 실시간 객체 인식 기술을 활용하여 보행자의 마스크 착용 여부를 판단한다. 실험을 통해 사전에 작성된 지도에 지정된 웨이포인트를 따라 로봇이 자율주행하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한, 충전소로 이동할 경우, 영상 처리 기법을 활용하여 충전소에 부착된 표식에 근접하도록 이동하여 충전이 진행됨을 확인하였다.

A Lane Tracking Algorithm Using IPM and Kalman Filter (역투영 변환과 칼만 필터를 이용한 주행차선 추적)

  • In this paper, A lane tracking algoritm is proposed for lane departure warning system. To eliminate perspective effect, input image is converted into Bird's View by inverse perspective mapping. Next, suitable features are extracted for lane detection. Using clustering and lane similarity function with noise suppression features are extracted. Finally, lane model is calculated using RANSAC and lane model is tracked using Kalman Filter. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can be processed within 20ms and its detection rate approximately 90% on the highway in a variety of environments.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore research topics and examine the trend in COVID19 related research papers. We identified eight topics using latent Dirichlet allocation and found acceptable validity in comparison with the structural topic model. The subtopics have been extracted using k-means clustering and plotted in PCA space. Additionally, we discovered the topics bearing negative tones and warning signs by sentiment analysis. The results flagged up the issues of the topics, Biomedical Related, International Dynamics and Psychological Impact. The findings could serve as a guideline for researchers who explore new research directions and policymakers who need to make decisions about which research projects to support.

  • Because damages arising from the occurrence of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) are very great, it is essential to make a preemptive diagnosis to cope with it in order to minimize those damages. The main symptoms of foot-and-mouth disease are body temperature increase, loss of appetite, formation of blisters in the mouth, on hooves and breasts, etc. in a cow or a bull, among which the body temperature check is the easiest and quickest way to detect the disease. In this paper, an algorithm to detect FMD from the hooves of cattle was developed and implemented for preemptive coping with foot-and-mouth disease, and a hoof check test is conducted after the installation of a high-resolution camera module, a thermo-graphic camera, and a temperature/humidity module in the cattle shed. Through the algorithm and system developed in this study, it is possible to cope with an early-stage situation in which cattle are suspected as suffering from foot-and-mouth disease, creating an optimized growth environment for cattle. In particular, in this study, the system to cope with FMD does not use a portable thermo-graphic camera, but a fixed camera attached to the cattle shed. It does not need additional personnel, has a function to measure the temperature of cattle hooves automatically through an image algorithm, and includes an automated alarm for a smart phone. This system enables the prediction of a possible occurrence of foot-and-mouth disease on a real-time basis, and also enables initial-stage disinfection to be performed to cope with the disease without needing extra personnel.

  • In this paper, a safe driving assistance system is proposed by detecting the status of driver's doze based on face and eye detection. By the level of the fatigue, safe driving system alarms or set the seatbelt on vibration. To reduce the effect of backward light and too strong solar light which cause a decrease of face and eye detection rate and false fatigue detection, post processing techniques like image equalization are used. Haar transform and PCA are used for face detection. By using the statistic of the face and eye structural ratio of normal Koreans, we can reduce the eye candidate area in the face, which results in reduction of the computational load. We also propose a new eye status detection algorithm based on Hough transform and eye width-height ratio, which are used to detect eye's blinking status which decides doze level by measuring the blinking period. The system alarms and operates seatbelt on vibration through controller area network(CAN) when the driver's doze level is detected. In this paper, four algorithms are implemented and proposed algorithm is made based on the probability model and we achieves 84.88% of correct detection rate through indoor and in-car environment experiments. And also we achieves 69.81% of detection rate which is better result than that of other algorithms using IR camera.

Development of Train Velocity and Location Tracking Algorithm for a Constant Warning Time System (철도건널목 정시간 제어를 위한 열차속도 및 위치추적방식 개발)

  • About 91.1% of Railway-Highway Crossings (RHC) in Korea use a Constant Distance Warning System(CDWS), while about 8.9% use a Constant Warning Time System(CWTS). The CDWS does not recognize speed differences of approaching trains and provides only waiting times to vehicles and pedestrians based on the highest speed of approaching trains. Under the CDWS, therefore, low speed trains provide unnecessary waiting times at crossings which often generates complains to vehicle drivers and pedestrians and may cause wrong decisions to pass the crossings. The objective of this research is to improve the safety of the RHC by developing accurate a CWTS. In this research a train speed and location detection system was developed with ultra sonic detectors. Locations of the detectors was decided based on the highest speed and the minimum warning time of Saemaul of 160 km/h. To validate the algorithms of the newly developed systems the lab tests were conducted. The results show that the train detection system provides accurate locations of trains and the maximum error between real speeds of trains and those of the system was 0.07m/s.
