  • Drawing on Protection Motivation Theory(PMT), this study attempts to clarify antecedents that influence the intention to protect individuals' privacy on the Internet. Protection motivation forms through individuals' cognitive appeal involving threat and efficacy. Then protection motivation causes privacy behavioral change. Protection motivation factors are established privacy trust and privacy risk, which are related to privacy attitude and belief. This proposed model is empirically analyzed by utilizing structural equation analysis(SEM). According to the result of the empirical analysis, it is founded that almost paths have statistically significant explanatory power except path from efficacy to privacy risk and path from privacy trust to privacy behavioral intention. This study shows powerful evidence of antecedent factors based on protection motivation of individuals' privacy behavioral intention in online environment.

  • Technical measures for computer security are essential, but they are not a sufficient condition for security. Therefore, a personal approach to user's security behavior should be developed. Personality, which is a human aspect, is a behavioral characteristic that characterizes each individual and facilitates prediction of how an individual will behave in certain situations. Protection motivation theory has been used extensively in the security research on human behavior. The present study discusses how protection motivation was formed from personality traits. Thus, organizations can refer the result of this study for their HRD and HRM concerns.

  • With the increases of requirement for user identification in Internet services, we should let the service companies know my personal information. If the shared personal information with them are used in not-allowed area or delivered to un-authorized persons, we may have practical harms in several fields such as financial related operations. Korean Government has introduced new management method for personal information, but it is not hard to find the personal information management issues from Korean news papers. The proper measurement should be delivered to related companies to help them to decide investment for security. This paper review the indirect measurement method of demages by check the stock prices of related company for personal information management issue. We check the relationship between change of stock price and the information management issue. The result shows there are no changes in stock market. Korean government added strong regulations for personal information management though. To prevent further personal information issues, we should recognize the indirect damages properly and let the company pay higher reparations for any personal information abuse.

  • Courier services users' experience of violating privacy affects psychology and behavior of protecting personal privacy. Depending on what privacy infringement experience (PIE) of courier services users, learning about perceived privacy infringement incidents is made, recognition is formed, affection is formed, and behavior is appeared. This paradigm of changing in privacy psychologies of courier services users has an important impact on predicting responses of privacy protective action (PPA). In this study, a theoretical research framework are developed to explain the privacy protective action (PPA) of courier services users by applying attitude theory. Based on this framework, the relationships among past privacy infringement experience (PIE), perceived privacy risk (PPR), privacy concerns (i.e., concerns in unlicensed secondary use (CIUSU), concerns in information error (CIE), concerns in improper access (CIA), and concern in information collection (CIC), and privacy protective action (PPA) are analyzed. In this study, the proposed research model was surveyed by people with experience in using courier services and was analyzed for finding relationships among research variables using structured an equation modeling software, SMART-PLS. The empirical results show the causal relationships among PIE, PPR, privacy concerns (CIUSU, CIE, CIA, and CIC), and PPA. The results of this study provide useful theoretical implications for privacy management research in courier services, and practical implications for the development of courier services business model.

  • Internet is widely spreading in everyday life and it makes easy to find and share information on the Internet. Many of Internet users are copying and distributing copyrighted materials freely on the Internet without recognizing that it is unethical and illegal behavior. The rate of Internet piracy is constantly increasing even though the regulation and punishment for piracy behavior are to be strict. However, there is a lack of study about the relationship between the punishment and education for intenet piracy on users' attitude and intention toward piracy on the Internet. The purpose of this study is therefore to find out the effect of the level of punishment for internet piracy on users' attitude and intention. This study also examines the moderating effect of piracy education on the relationship between punishment and piracy intention. The study shows that the punishment is directly associated with the attitude but not associated with the piracy intention. The piracy education has a significant effect on the relationship between punishment and intention. The result of this study could bring up the issue of intellectual property protection on the Intenet and suggest an importance of piracy education to educators, managers and internet users.

  • With side effects such as Phishing and Spam using personal information in Social Network Service, there is a growing need for studies related to harmful behaviors such as the reason for privacy violation. As such, this study assumed privacy violation to be ethical decision, making behavior and used the Theory of Planned Behavior and Motivation Theory, which are mostly used in social science to identify the factors affecting privacy violation. The results suggested that the Perceived Enjoyment and Punishment used in motivation studies affected privacy violation behaviors, and that the factors of the Theory of Planned Behavior such as Attitude toward Privacy Violation, Subjective Norms of Privacy Violation, and Perceived Behavioral Control with regard to Privacy Violation significantly influenced the Intention to Privacy Violation. On the other hand, Perceived Curiosity and Subjective Norms of Privacy Violation did not affect the Intention to Privacy Violation. Therefore, this study confirmed that the Theory of Planned Behavior was appropriate to explain the Intention to Privacy Violation, and that the variables of the Motivation Theory generally influenced the Attitude toward Privacy Violation. This study was significant since it extended the scope of theoretical privacy study from users and victims centered to inflictor and applied the Extended Theory of Planned Behavior using the variables of the Motivation Theory in the study of Intention to Privacy Violation. From the practical aspect, it provided the ground for privacy education based on the fact that the Attitude toward Privacy Violation can be curbed when education on the Privacy Concerns, Perceived Enjoyment, and Punishment with regard to privacy is strengthened. It also cited the need for the punishment of privacy violation and the practical ground to amend the terms and conditions of user license and Personal Information Protection Act to provide policy support.

  • The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the effect of individual perception of artificial intelligence and the level of digital literacy on the acceptance of artificial intelligence-based public services. For empirical analysis, a research model was set up based on the technology acceptance model and planned behavior theory using survey data of 2017 and analyzed through structural equations. To summarize the results of the analysis, firstly, the positive perception of individuals about artificial intelligence technology plays a role in reinforcing attitudes toward benefits and reducing concerns about public service in which artificial intelligence technology has been introduced. Secondly, the level of digital literacy reinforces both benefits and concerns about artificial intelligence technology, but it was found that the intention to use public services was reinforced through the benefits of artificial intelligence technology perceived by individuals, rather than privacy concerns about artificial intelligence technology. Thirdly, it was confirmed that the perceived benefits of individuals on artificial intelligence technology reinforced the intention to use public civil services, and privacy concerns negatively influenced the intention to use. It was confirmed that the influence of a perceived ease of use and usefulness, as opposed to privacy concerns, further reinforces the intention to use. Both citizens' positive perceptions regarding the accuracy and reliability of information provided through artificial intelligence technology and institutional complementation of responsibility for errors caused by artificial intelligence technology are strengthened, and technical problems related to privacy protection are solved.

Methods: A total of 215 paramedic students from G university in I metropolitan city and D university in G do were surveyed. Frequency analysis, percentage analysis, and one-way distribution analysis were conducted using the software SPSS version 23.0. Results: First, recognition regarding the operation of laws and systems related to medical law and personal information protection was high among students who had no clinical practice experience, and there were no differences with regard to students' general characteristics. Second, the level of recognition regarding patient personal information protection and exposure did not differ depending on students' general characteristics and clinical practice experience. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, students' recognition and attitude should be improved by carrying out continuous education on patient personal information protection. Furthermore, more specialized and systematic training related to patient personal information protection should be conducted to nurture appropriately trained paramedic students.
