Exploratory Study on Countering Internet Hate Speech : Focusing on Case Study of Exposure to Internet Hate Speech and Experts' in-depth Interview (인터넷 혐오표현 대응방안에 관한 탐색적 연구 : 노출경험 사례 및 전문가 심층인터뷰 분석을 중심으로)

  • This study aims to analyze the causes of Internet hate speech, which has recently been emerging as a serious social problem and to seek for countermeasures. The experiences of hate speech are examined through the analysis of college students' essays and the causes and solutions of hate speech are suggested through the in-depth interviews with the experts. College students experience hate speech on the Internet on the basis of attributes such as age, gender, sexual orientation, and regionalism. Online comments on news, social media and online games are the main sources in spreading hate speech. On a personal level the lack of awareness of human dignity and the absence of media education are diagnosed as the reasons for online hate speech. The social reasons for online hate speech lie in the lack of human rights education and the problems of the media. In order to improve the problems of Internet hate speech, various suggestions are proposed on the legal, social and educational levels.

Development and validation of Everyday Gender Microaggression Scale (일상 속 성차별 경험 척도 개발 및 타당화)

  • By applying the concept of microaggression (subtle and indirect form of discrimination), the aim of this study was to develop and validate the Everyday Gender Microaggression Scale (EGM). For this purpose, based on the results of literature review, surveys, and individual interviews, we developed 17 pilot items. Next, after expert content validation, we administered online survey to 180 adult women and conducted exploratory factor analysis. The result revealed 2 factors, 14 items, and this structure was reconfirmed through confirmatory factor analysis in another sample of 219 adult women. Convergent and concurrent validities were also examined via correlations with measures of sexism, depression, and life satisfaction. We discussed implications, ways to use the EGM, and suggestions for future research.

Analysis of the difference between ideal and reality that whistle-blowing people experience: focus on phenomenological method (공익제보자들이 경험하는 이상과 현실의 차이: 현상학적 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the motivation for, expectations of, consequences of, and attitudes toward whistle-blowing. that whistle-blowers experience in the whistle-blowing process, and clarify the difference between the ideal and reality. Fourteen official whistle-blowers were interviewed and qualitative data were analyzed based on phenomenological approach. As a result, motivational themes appeared such as professional spirit and personal values. They also tried to pursue public interest such as social changes as well as public support for them. In addition, the participants believed that the cultural characteristics of Korean society such as vertical collectivism are responsible for the gap between ideals and reality of whistle-blowing. In particular, They also suggested a few alternative for reducing the gap.

  • This study is related to determination of the intention to watch a movie, which is affected by various emotional, environmental, and behavioral factors. In case of personal factors, personal taste formed on the basis of previously experienced movie related information affects selection of movies, while environmental factors are affected mostly by residental community experience, cognitive attitude, subjective norms, as well as the view of values. In this study, the determinants on decision to watch movie have been analyzed applying the theory of planned behavior. Taking into consideration that the determination, based on either personal factors or environmental factors, of consuming movie products stars from reasonable information collecting and that movie poster has been the primary source of information on movie products since the inception of the movie industry, this study analyzed tastes of movie watchers and many variables of movie poster format on determination of intention to watch movie. The results from this empirical study indicate that movie poster is effective means of low cost marketing inducing movie watching in terms of consuming minimum time and space with high speed of delivery while satisfying primary interest on the movie product. It is suggested movie posters should be prepared to make appeal to each generation of target consumers and be put on the market as a product of artistic work.

An Analysis on Korean Mortality Structure (한국인의 사망력 구조분석)

  • 한국의 사망력은 높은 수준의 성별 사망력 차이와 중년 남성의 급격한 사망력 상승을 그 구조적 특성으로 하고 있는데, 이러한 한국인 사망력 구조의 특이성은 직접적으로는 사망원인의 성별, 년령별 차별적 역활에 기인하며 간접적으로는 이들 원인의 차별성을 초래하는것으로 추정되는 경제개발기간동안의 사회, 경제 및 공공정책상의 변화 및 생활습관의 차이에서 기인된다고 보아진다. 본 연구에서는 이들 차이를 결과짓는 여러 요인들을 중심으로 한국인의 사망력 구조상에서 나타난 년령별 및 성별특성을 분석하는데 그 주요점을 두었다. 1985년 경제기획원 조사통계과에 의해 집계된 사망원인통계자료는를 활용하여 한국인의 사망력 구조의 특성을 사망원인과 관련시켜 연구분석한 결과는 다음과 같이 종합될수 있다. 첫째, 40대 이후 남성의 높은 사망력에 의거한 요인들은 뇌혈관질환, 고혈압성질환, 암질환 및 기지 심질환 및 간의 악성신생물 순으로 중요하게 나타났다. 둘째, 0세에서의 남녀간의 기득개념의 차이는 차이는 초년 또는 청년층에서의 남녀간의 사망력 차이에서 보다는 40대 이상의 중장년층에서의 남녀간의 사망력 차이에서 비롯되었으며, 뇌혈관 질환, 악성간질환 및 고혈압성 질환, 간의 악성 신생물,및 기타 심질환 및 간의 악성 신생물 질환들이 중장년층에서의 남녀간의 사망력 차이를 결정하는데 주역활을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 세째, 위의 년령간의 및 남녀간의 사망력 수준의 차이를 결정짓는 주요한 사회적 간접요인들로는 첫째, 사회.경제개발과 함께 이어 병행되어온 보건정책들이 즈로 어린이 또는 여성에 편향된 결과 였으며, 둘째,환경적 요소로서 중년 남성들의 Social stress, 운동부족과 관련된 질병들과 공해, 먼지, 유해화학물 가스 등 산업재회와 관련된 질병들에 의한 사망률이 높으며, 세째, 행위적 요소로서 음주와 흡연과 관련된 질병들에 의한 중년 남성의 사망률이 높은것들로 요약될수 있다. 중년 남성의 높은 사망률은 기술적,사회적 경험이 축적된 노동력의 상실로서 국가적 손실이 크며, 고 년령층 인구의 구조적 측면에서도 성의 불균등을 초래하여 미혼 여성의 증가등 사회적인 기반문제의 주요한 요인이 되므로서 그 중요성은 지대하다고 할수 있겠다. 그러므로 이 문제는 국가적 사회적 차원에서 해결이 시급하며 그 해결책으로는 지금 까지 도외시 되어 왔던 중년 남성의 건강을 위한 프로젝트의 실지와 함께 이들에게 노출되어 왔던 운동 부족, 사회적 스트레스 및 산업재회의 해소 내지 제거에 대한 방안들이 연구 되어야 하겠다. 한편 음주 및 흡연등의 개인행위적 습관의 개선을 위한 사회 계몽활동의 추진 및 건전한 스트레스 해결책의 개발이 중요하다고 하겠다.

A Study on the Effects of a User's App Characteristics and Personal Characteristics on Attitudes, Trust, and Reuse Intention towards Delivery Apps (사용자의 앱특성과 개인특성이 배달앱에 대한 태도,신뢰 및 재사용의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine how the app characteristics of delivery apps and personal characteristics influence consumers' attitudes, trust, and reuse intention. To address the goal, this researcher selected consumers having experience in ordering food through a delivery app as subjects and carried out a survey with a structured questionnaire from April 1st to 30th, 2022, and then collected the results through Google Surveys due to the prevalence of COVID-19. The main results are summed up as follows. First, it has been found that app characteristics influence their attitudes, trust, and reuse intention. Second, personal characteristics have significant effects on their attitudes, trust, and reuse intention. Third, their attitudes and trust have been found to exert effects on their reuse intention. This study is distinct from previous studies in that it has considered app characteristics and personal characteristics both in examining the factors to realize the continuous use of delivery apps. Moreover, this study is significant in that based on the results, it has revealed that factors associated with app characteristics and personal characteristics are crucial to enhance their intention to reuse delivery apps.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the context of cosumers' lives in Korea with a narrative analysis method. The epistemological orientation of eh narrative analysis is Interpretivism, which blends the two polar philosophical perspectives, Empiricism and Rationalism, and includes Narrotology, Hermeneneutics, Semiotics, and Structural Criticism. Narrative analysis takes as its object of investigation the story itself. This study collects eleven narrative plots from four housewives, into which Labov's structural approach is applied. This study shows clearly that the socio-cultural environment in which consumers live has strong influence on their consumption behavior and also reveals that narrativization tells not only about past actions but how individuals understand those actions, that is, meaning.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate factors affecting turnover intentions of rehabilitation specialists by using data on the "improvement of labor conditions and human rights of rehabilitation Specialist" which was conducted both in 2016 and in 2017. The turnover intention of the rehabilitation specialists was analyzed with personal factors, job-related factors, and factors related with client violence, discrimination, and burnout. Among these factors, variables of wage satisfaction, job satisfaction, and client violence have statistically significant effect on the turnover intention of rehabilitation specialists. While the variables of wage satisfaction and job satisfaction are likely to decrease the turnover intention of rehabilitation specialists, the variable of client violence significantly increase the turnover intention of rehabilitation specialists. The results of this analysis implies that the labor conditions including salary, the work environment for the rehabilitation specialists, and client education should be improved and strengthened to decrease the turnover intention of the rehabilitation specialists.

The Effects of Perceived Netflix Personalized Recommendation Service on Satisfying User Expectation (지각된 넷플릭스 개인화 추천 서비스가 이용자 기대충족에 미치는 영향)

  • The OTT (Over The Top) platform promotes itself as a distinctive competitive advantage in that it allows users to stay on the platform longer and visit more often through a Personalized Recommendation Service. In this study, the characteristics of the Personalized Recommendation Service are divided into three categories: recommendation accuracy, recommendation diversity, and recommendation novelty. Then proposed a research model which affects the usefulness of users to recognize recommendation services by each characteristics and leads to satisfaction of expectations. The result of conducting an online survey of 300 people in their 20s and 30s who subscribe Netflix shows that the perceived usefulness increased when the accuracy, variety, and novelty of Netflix's Recommendation Service were high. It was also confirmed that high perceived usefulness leads to satisfaction of expectations before and after Netflix use. The derived research results can confirm the importance of evaluating the personalized recommendation service in terms of user experience and provide implications for ways to improve the quality of recommendation services.
