The Effect of Family Cohesion of Down's Syndrome Family on Children's Independent Living: Focused on Mediating Effect : Mediating effect of strengthening family capacity (다운증후군 가족의 가족응집성이 자녀 자립생활에 미치는 영향: 가족역량강화 매개효과 중심으로)

  • This research aimed to verify whether family competency reinforcement had a mediating role on the effect of family cohesion of the Down syndrome family upon the independent life of children with Down syndrome. For the research, 146 families belonged to Down Syndrome Parent Assembly were surveyed and the statistical program SPSS WIN 25.0 was utilized for the data analysis. To verify the mediating effect, Baron and Kenny's causal step strategy was performed. As a result of the study, the higher the family cohesion of the Down syndrome family was, the greater the level of independence of the child was, indicating that the family cohesion had a significant static effect on the independence life. In addition, it was confirmed that the family competency reinforcement played a mediating role between the family cohesion and the children's independent living. Therefore, the results of this research suggested that it might be used as a policy approach and supporting plan for the realization of support for independence of Down syndrome children.

  • 최근에 경제성장과 생활향상에 따른 물수요량이 급증함과 동시에 소비자의 질적요구가 강화되고 있는 실정이다. 기존 상수원인 하천의 수질오염으로 인하여 소비자의 요구사항을 충족시키기 위해서는 기존 정수처리법의 개선이 요구된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존 급속여과법의 전염소 처리공정 및 응집.침전 공정의 개선을 통하여 음용수 수질을 개선하고자 하였다. 전염소 대신에 적용한 생물막여과 공정(BAF)의 처리효과 및 응집.침전 공정의 경우는 교반강도에 따른 침전효과에 따른 수질특성을 조사하였다. BAF공정은 탁월한 $NH_4$-N의 제거를 통하여 후속공정에 대한 오염부하량을 저감시킬수 있었고, 응집.침전의 경우 본 연구에서 제안한 응집제 주입량에 따른 교반강도의 실험식인에 의하여 구한 최적교반강도용 용집공정에 적용시 응집.침전의 효과를 향상시킨 수 있어 음용수 수질 향상을 기대 할 수 있었다.

Economical Evaluation Based on Method of Coagulation with GAC Adsorber Operation (활성탄 흡착지의 운영시 응집 방법에 따른 경제성 평가)

  • Applying enhanced coagulation is not uncommon not only to improve water quality but also to obtain economical advantages in water treatment. In this study, the economical evaluation was investigated with considering dosage of coagulant, produced sludges and usage of activated carbon with two different water sources. To simulate the granular activated carbon(GAC) adsorber mini-column test was adapted. Even if there were some variation according to the source waters, the life time of GAC was extended 60 to 110days with adding 2.5 to 3 times of coagulant in enhanced coagulation. With assumption of changing GAC adsorber at 50% of breakthrough the total treatment cost can be reduced to range from 25% to 44% with adapting the enhanced coagulation. The obtained value can not be generalized because the value can be varied by water quality and cost of the GAC or coagulant. However, the evaluation can be basis starting point to find optimum operation methods for the drinking water treatment which has plan to adapt GAC adsorber.

Survey of Physicochemical Methods and Economic Analysis of Domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant for Advanced Treatment of Phosphorus Removal (총인 수질기준강화를 위한 국내 하수종말처리장의 물리화학적처리 특성조사 및 경제성 분석)

  • Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) are required to meet the reinforced discharge standards which are differentiated as 0.2, 0.3 and 0.5 mg-TP/L for the district I, II and III, respectively. Although most of WWTPs are operating advanced biological phosphorus removal system, the supplementary phosphorus treatment facility using chemical addition should be required almost at all WWTPs. Therefore, water quality data from several exemplary full-scale plants operating phosphorus treatment process were analyzed to evaluate the reliability of removal performance. Additionally, a series of jar tests were conducted to find optimal coagulants dose for phosphorus removal by chemical precipitation and to describe characteristics of the reaction and sludge production. Chemical costs and the increasing sludge volume in physicochemical phosphorus removal process were estimated based on the results of jar tests. The minimum coagulant (aluminium sulfate and poly aluminium chloride) doses to keep TP concentration below 0.5 and 0.2 mg/L were around 25 and 30 mg/L (as $Al_2O_3$), respectively, in the mixed liquor of activated sludge. In the tertiary treatment facility, relatively lower coagulant doses of 1/12~1/3 the minimum doses for activated sludge were required to achieve the same TP concentrations of 0.2~0.5 mg/L. Increase in suspended solids concentration due to chemical precipitates in mixed liquor was estimated at 10~11%, compared to the concentration without chemical addition. When coagulant was added into mixed liquor, chemical (aluminium sulfate) cost was estimated to be 4~10 times higher than in secondary effluent coagulation/separation process. Sludge production to be wasted was also 4~10 times higher than secondary effluent coagulation/separation process.

  • 본 연구는 주조성, 내압성, 내열성 등이 우수하여 군용 및 민수용 기계소재로 이용되고 있는 AI-Si-Mg계 AC4C 합금에 세라믹(AI2O3, AI2O3-TiC)을 강화시키는 복합재료제조에 관한 기초연구의 일환으로 수행하였다. 연구내용은 세라믹 강화재의 젖음성을 높이기 위하여 수소환원법에 의한 AI2O3입자의 Ni 피복과 기존의 프리폰 제조방법보다 간단하고 경제적인 자전연소합성법에 의해 AI2O3-TiC 다공성 pellet을 제조하여, 이들 강화재와 AC4C 기지금속을 이용하여 고대-compocasting 및 squeeze casting법으로 복합재료를 제조하고 미세조직, 계면생성물, 기계적 성질, 내마멸성 등의 특성을 조사하였다. 고대-compocasting법에 의해 제조된 AI2O3Ni 입자 강화 복합재료에서 강화재들은 응집체로 존재하지 않고 비교적 균일하게 분산되었고 AI2O3-TiC 강화재를 이용하여 squeeze casting으로 가압주조 하므로써 기지금속과 강화재의 젖음성이 향상되었다.

A Study on Tensile Properties of Multi-Welled Carbon Nanotube/Epoxy Composites (다중벽 탄소나노튜브/에폭시 복합재료의 인장 물성에 관한 연구)

  • The studies of particulate reinforced composites have been conducted for many years. The nanocomposites to be studied vigorously in recent years are one of them. We fabricated and studied multi-walled carbon nanotube(MWNT)/epoxy composites which may be useful as matrix for continuous fiber-reinforced composites. We investigated tensile properties of MWNT/epoxy composites as a function of MWNT concentration, which were prepared by the fabrication method established in this study. Tensile stiffness and strength increased 19% at 0.5 wt% and 12% at 0.2 wt%, respectively. We observed the reaggregation phenomenon of MWNTS during curing, which should be controlled to obtain higher tensile properties.

Characteristics of Natural Organic Matter (NOM) on Han River and Criterion of Enhanced Coagulation (한강원수 자연유기물의 특성분석 및 강화응집 기준 평가)

  • The Disinfectants/Disinfection By-products (D/DBP) Rule proposed by the US Environmental Protection Agency requires the implementation of enhanced coagulation as a control strategy for natural organic matter (NOM) removal and as a means of limiting the formation of all DBPs, i.e., not just the trihalomethanes and haloacetica acids. To control DBP formation, several best available technologies (BATs) were determined for removal of DBPs and DBP precursors. The enhanced coagulation is one of the BATs for DBP precursors removal. Treatment facilities that achieve a specified percent removal of total organic carbon (TOC) prior to the application of a continuous disinfectant or that achieve a residual TOC concentration < 2mg/L prior to the application of a continuous disinfectant are considered to be in compliance with enhanced coagulation. The enhanced coagulation was applied to raw water in Korea, the Han River. Raw water were examined and effects of different raw water qualities on enhanced coagulation were investigated. Three analyses were used for raw water characteristics, water quality measurement, molecular weight distributions, hydrophobic/hydrophilic fractionation. The Han River had the relatively low alkalinity and low organic carbon concentration. The results of molecular weight distributions showed significant portions of low molecular weight organics, which is very different from most water in USA. The alum doses for the required TOC removal guided from USEPA manual were quite low (i.e. 10~30 mg/L alum) for the water, probably due to the specific water quality of the Han River.

  • Although team cohesion can be a double-edged sword, empirical studies have focused positive effect of team cohesion. This study claims that team cohesion can be divided social task cohesion, so we can investigate positive effect of social cohesion and negative effect of task cohesion on technological innovation. Cohesion emphasize homogeneity, thus creativity supporting team climate alleviate negative effect of social cohesion and increase positive effect of task cohesion. This study has used materials collected from 205 NPD teams The results show negative effect of social cohesion(${\beta}$=-.19, p<.01), positive effect of task cohesion(${\beta}$ =.18, p<.05), positive interactive effect between social cohesion and creativity supporting team climate(${\beta}$=.14, p<.10) and positive interactive effect between task cohesion and creativity supporting team climate(${\beta}$=.16, p<.05) on technological innovation.

A Feasibility Study on Optimization System of Coagulant Dosing for Total Phosphorous Treatment (총인 처리를 위한 응집제 주입량 최적제어 시스템의 적용성 연구)

  • In this study, we developed an M-COS (molit coagulant-dosing optimization system), which enables to apply the optimum coagulant dose determined in real time, in order to satisfy the total phosphorus (TP) regulation (0.5 mg/L), and then tested its field applicability. Field tests were conducted at three different periods in 2014 in a pilot plant where the M-COS was installed. Coagulant reduction rate by the M-COS was 10.4%, 15.3%, and 9.0% for each period (average 11.6%), when comparing with a control where coagulants were applied at a constant rate. Total cost for the M-COS or control was estimated by summing up the coagulant cost and sludge treatment cost, and then the resulting cost increase was predicted. Cost reduction rate by the M-COS was 13.8%, 20.0%, and 11.4% for each period (average 15.0%). This study indicates that the M-COS can be an alternative to a conventional system for TP treatment, with a better cost efficiency.
