A Study on Retrieval System of Course Materials (강의자원 검색시스템에 관한 연구)

  • This study has extracted the basic component of the Library Course Pages through case studies of the Library Course Pages Service, and examined the staus quo of the Open Course Ware(OCW) for the sharing of the course materials. The study has also designed and established a ontology-based retrieval system model that is capable of semantic-based retrieval of the course materials in colleges. A comparison between and analysis of the past keyword search results was conducted to evaluate the model. Through evaluation, the study concluded that the ontology-based system was more effective than the keyword search method in both retrieval result and material sharing between the institutions.

Design and Evaluation of a Gateway to Faculty Syllabi in Computer Science (인터넷 대학강의안 전산학분야 메타데이터 시스템 구축 및 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to design and evaluate a metadata system for internet-based syllabi in computer science. The study constructed two prototype systems for the experiment. One was constructed using only Dubline Core (DC) elements and the other was a DC-expanded system with additional eight elements that are not the part of DC elements. The thlrty subjects were chosen from those who majored in Computer Science. Two retrieval tasks were assigned to them. One was to find syllabi in which they are' interested and the other was to find relevant course syllabi for a given course title. After the search, they were asked to evaluate the systems in terms of efficiency, accuracy, and their satisfaction of the system. The result of the first experiment indicates that DC-based system performed significantly better in terms of search time and DC-expanded system in terms of satisfaction measure. An additional experiment was conducted to test efficiency of the browsing categories. The interview with subjects was carried out to find any difficulties associated with the current browsing scheme. The subjects expressed much1 satisfaction about assigning a course to multiple browsing categories.

  • 인터넷 사용자의 급속한 증가와 통신망의 고속화는 교육 분야에 있어서도 많은 변화를 가져왔다. 최근 주목을 받는 분야중에 하나는 인터넷 기반의 가상대학이다. 현재의 동향은 주로 원격 강의 시스템에 치우쳐있다. 가상대학에서 해결해야 할 또 다른 중요한 부분은 학생의 수학 능력을 평가하는 시스템이다. 본 논문에서는 자바를 이용한 자동화된 문제 출제 시스템과, 출제된 문제를 학습자에게 출력하는 시스템을 제안하고 구현한다. 편리한 사용자 인터페이스를 가지고, 멀티미디어를 가미한 문제 출제 시스템으로의 확장성을 제공하는 동시에 현재 강의 시스템과 병행하여 최대한의 교육 효과를 내는데 그 목적이 있다.

  • In this paper, we investigate a problem with Web-based learing contents and introduce the solving method of the problem. To be more accurate, existing Web-based learning contents were one fixd and uniformed courseware file with a large size and HTML format. Also, They were written files with authoring tools of which depended upon providing a multimedia vender. These learning contents were difficult to reuse among cyber education systems and change the applicable contents to the learner for learning experiences in time. So in this paper, we produced reusable and interopreable learning contents among instruction designers and education systems. They were deconstructed into smaller chunks and added to its properties. For the purpose of this producing method, we used the pedagogical designs for units of reuse. These are just turorial link-more and tell-more and was implemented with CBD method. As a result, The problem of existing Web-based learning contents system was resolved and then the power of understanding about objectified learning content was increased for the learner and instruction designers.

  • National university of education here in Korea have had a special purpose training competent primary school teacher hoping our nation and society so far. We can guess how students are educated and which direction focuses on education in college or university if we see the curriculum of the university. But the content of mathematics curriculum which is currently operated in ten university of education is a little different according to the major subject (pure mathematics, subject matters and so on)of the faculty or situation of the university. The purpose of this study is to get some suggestive points for the development of mathematics program and lecture assessment system which are appropriate training primary school teacher of future oriented as a special purpose university with looking around of lecture assessment system as well as comparing and looking around of the curriculum which are establishing at the auckland college of education there in the New Zealand and mathematics education department here in Daegu national university of education.

  • The study goal is to develop the user interface design principles to improve the usability of university course management systems. To achieve the goal, a usability study was conducted using a survey questionnaire and usability test. Eleven user interface design principles for university course management system were developed based on the usability study. This study has significance in that student opinions were incorporated directly into the user interface design principles of university course management system.

  • This is an exploratory study to verify the impact of applying SNS to lecture on the professor trust and students achievement. The subject of the study is two groups which consist of SNS applied class and the group using legacy online class supporting system and the contents, material, activities of class are same. We verified the differences between two groups with the professor trust divided into 4 constructs such as intimacy, expertise, teaching ability, leadership based on the literature review and students achievement classified into midterm and final. The results shows that intimacy and final evaluation are statistically significant between two groups.

Online Course Evaluation Method by Using Automatic Classification Technology (자동 분류 기술을 활용한 온라인 강의 평가 방법)

  • Although the need for international online courses and the number of online learners has been rapidly increasing, the online class evaluation has been mostly relying on the quantitative survey analysis. So a more objective evaluation method has to be developed to more accurately assess online course satisfaction. This study highlights the benefits of using big data analysis from the bulletin board messages of online learning system as a method to evaluate the online courses. In fact, automatic classification technology is recognized as an important technology among big data analysis techniques. Our team applied this technique to evaluate the online courses. From the delphi analysis results, suggested method was concluded that the evaluation items and classification results are suitable for online course evaluation and applicable in schools or institutions. This study has confirmed that the rapidly accumulating big data analysis technology can be successfully applied to the education sector with the least change. It also diagnosed a meaningful possibility to expand the big data analysis for further application.

  • 본 논문에서는 C언어를 이용한 자료구조를 자기 주도적으로 학습할 수 있는 원격 교육 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다. 각 단원별로 이론 강의 및 실습 강의, 형성평가로 이루어져 있으며, 실습 강의에서는 코딩 영역에 직접 코딩한 소스를 온라인 상에서 컴파일 및 실행이 가능하도록 구현하였다. 특히 한 화면에서 따라가기 형태로 화면의 이동을 하지 않고 실습하는 것이 가능하고 코드의 실행 결과 보기를 할 수 있으므로, 자료구조 학습 내용을 학습자 스스로 충분히 숙지하고 실습할 수 있는 웹 기반 실습 환경을 제공한다. 이론과 실습을 겸함으로써 학습자는 이해하기 어려운 자료구조의 이해도를 높일 수 있고, 학습자가 주도적으로 실습에 참여하도록 유도함으로써 학습의 흥미를 높일 수 있게 하였다.

3D Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) Based Lecturing System (3차원 다중 사용자 온라인 게임 기반 강의 시스템)

  • Today the lectures are usually practiced in a teacher-led traditional classroom system or a student-led e-learning system. Students passively follow the teacher's lectures in both systems, though. Also due to the advances in 3D Computer Graphics and Game technologies, there are trials to exploit the positive effect of games in learning. The serious games, specifically designed games for an educational goal, or existing games for a special class have been used as lectures. Still these games have a great difficulty in being integrated into the educational system technically and economically. Therefore a new 3D MMORPG based lecturing system is presented in this paper. In our new lecturing system, the characteristics of a 3D MMORPG, achievement, sociality, and immersion, are provided to motivate students to participate actively in a lecture. A teacher and students interact with each other in realtime as 3D characters in a 3D virtual classroom on-line. An ordinary teacher can also easily apply our new system to existing classes since a teacher only needs to specify a slide file to prepare a lecture. For the future work, a user study and the effect of our new lecturing system will be performed.
