Syntheses, Dielectric Properties and Ordering Structures of $Pb(Fe _{1/2}Ta_{1/2})O_3$ ($Pb(Fe _{1/2}Ta_{1/2})O_3$의 합성, 유전특성 및 질서배열구조)

  • Single phase $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Ta_{1/2})O_3$, ceramics were successfully synthesized from the powders prepared by solid state reaction (sintering temperature: $1100^{\circ}C$, density: $9.3g/cm^3$, average grain size: $5.1{\pm}1.2mm$, space group: Pm3m). Their dielectric properties measured at $-150{\sim}50^{\circ}C$ showed the maximum relative dielectric constant of 31000 at $-41^{\circ}C$. 1 kHz, and typical relaxor ferroelectrics characteristics such as diffuse phase transition and dielectric relaxation phenomena. However, the diffuseness of phase transition decreased and the dielectric properties became more normal ferroelectrics as the time of annealing at $1000^{\circ}C$ increased. By using Raman spectroscopy, it was revealed that the $Fe^{3+}$ and $Ta^{5+}$ ions in the as-sintered $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Ta_{1/2})O_3$, are stoichiometrically 1 : 1 ordered within the short-range that can not be probed even by transmission electron microscopy, and this stoichiometric 1 : 1 ordering is enhanced by the annealing. The relaxor ferroelectric characteristics in the as-sintered $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Ta_{1/2})O_3$, could be correlated with the stoichiometric 1 : 1 short-range ordering of B-site cations, and the decrease of relaxor ferroelectric characteristics in the annealed $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Ta_{1/2})O_3$ could be correlated with the enhanced stoichiometric 1 : 1 short-range ordering of B-site cations.

  • BiFeO3 (BFO)는 강자성과 유전체 특성을 모두 구현할 수 있는 재료로서 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. BFO 박막을 제조하는 방법에는 sputtering, chemical solution deposition, pulsed laser deposition methods 등이 알려져 있으나, 이러한 방법들은 근본적으로 고 진공을 사용하거나, 고온에서의 열처리, 낮은 성막 속도 등의 문제점이 있어, 상온에서 비교적 쉽게 박막을 제조할 수 있는 Aerosol deposition에 관한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 BFO의 강자성, 강유전 특성을 향상시키기 위해 Ba(Cu1/3Nb2/3)O3 (BCN)를 첨가한 Ba(Cu1/3Nb2/3)O3 (BFO-BCN) 복합재료를 합성하였다. 합성한 마이크론 크기의 입자를 사용하여 나노 결정립 크기의 Ba(Cu1/3Nb2/3)O3 (BFO-BCN) 박막을 상온에서 진공 분말 분사 공정(Aerosol-Deposition)을 이용하여 제조하고, 강자성 및 강유전성 특성을 평가하였다. Aerosol deposition방법으로 제조된 BFO-BCN박막은 BFO박막에 비해 우수한 강자성과 강유전 특성 나타내었다.

Ferroelectric properties of the $Ba(La_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3-Pb(Zr_yTi_{1-y})O_3$ceramics with $PbZrO_3$ contents (투광성 $Ba(La_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3-Pb(Zr_yTi_{1-y})O_3$ 세라믹의 $PbZrO_3$조성에 따른 강유전 특성)

  • 본 연구에서는 투광성 0.085Ba(L $a_{1}$2/N $b_{1}$2/) $O_{3}$- 0.915Pb(Z $r_{y}$ $Ti_{1-y}$) $O_{3}$(0.45.leq.y.leq.0.70)세라믹을 2단 소성법으로 제작한 후, PbZr $O_{3}$조성 및 온도에 따른 구조적, 강유전적특성을 측정하였다. XRD측정 결과, PbZr $O_{3}$조성이 감소할수록 결자상수 및 단위격자 체적은 감소하였으며 시편의 결정구조는 입방정계에서 능면체정계, 정방정계로 변화되었다. 8.5/60/40시편의 경우 포화분극, 잔류분극 및 항전계가 각각 33.28[.mu.C/$cm^{2}$], 4.15[kV/cm]로 전형적인 메모리 특성을 나타내었으며 PbZr $O_{3}$조성이 증가함에 따라 강유전 이력곡선은 slim loop특성을 나타내었다. 잔류분극은 온도가 증가함에 따라 감소하였으며 특히 PE-FE상경계 부근에 위치한 조성의 경우, 상전이 온도 이하의 온도에서 급격히 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다.다.

  • Ferroelectric $Pb(Zr_{0.52}Ti_{0.48})O_3$ (PZT) 박막을 $Pt(111)/Ti/SiO_2/Si$ 기판위에 증착되었고, 수소 후열처리 후의 특성변화를 연구하였다. 동시에 10 nm의 $(Pb_{0.72}La_{0.28})Ti_{0.94}O_3$ (PLT) buffer를 사용한 PZT 박막의 수소 후열처리 효과를 관찰하였다. PZT 박막의 경우, 수소 후열처리 전과 후에 강유전 특성이 현저하게 감소한 반면, PLT buffer가 사용된 PZT 박막의 경우, 강유전 특성에 거의 변화가 없었다. 이는 PLT buffer를 사용함으로써 PZT 박막의 배향성이 향상되고, 이에 따라 forming gas에 의한 수소원자가 박막 내로의 침투가 어렵게 된다. 따라서 수소원자에 대한 PZT 박막의 열화되는 현상이 buffer를 사용하는 경우, 거의 나타나지 않게 된다.

Ferroelectric Properties and DPT in the Perovskite PMT-PT System (Perovskite PMT-PT계의 강유전 특성 및 확산상전이)

  • Ferroelectric properties of the PMT-PT were also studied from the temperature dependence of hysteresis loops using a method slightly modified from Sawyer-Tower's. Dielectric, pyroelectric and piezoelectric properties of the ceramics in the system PMT-PT were investigated. The resulted densities of the PMT-PT ceramics system were greater than 97 % of the theoretical value. As observed SEM micrograph of the fracture surfaces of the PMT-PT ceramics system, the average grain sizes were increased about 3-5 ${\mu}m$ to 6-8 ${\mu}m$ with increasing sintering temperature. The specimens with PT<0.30 for PMT-PT solid solution system exhibited the dielectric and pyroelectric properties of a typical relaxor ferroelectrics. The composition with the maximum dielectric constant exhibits relatively superior pyroelectric and piezoelectric properties.

Microstructure and Ferroelectric Properties of Low Temperature Sintering PMN-PNN-PZT Ceramics with Sintering Temperature (저온소결 PMN-PNN-PZT세라믹스의 소결온도에 따른 미세구조 및 강유전특성)

  • In this study, in order to develop the low temperature sintering multilayer piezoelectric actuator, PMN-PNN-PZT system ceramics were manufactured and their microstructure, ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties were investigated. By increasing sintering temperature, remanent polarization$(P_r)$ was increased due to the increase of sinterability and grain size. However, coercive $field(E_c)$ showed an opposite tendency to remanent polarization owing to the feasibility of domain wall motion. At the sintering temperature of $900^{\circ}C$, dielectric $constant({\varepsilon}_r)$, electromechanical coupling $factor(k_p)$, piezoelectric $constant(d_{33})$ and mechanical quality $factor(Q_m)$ showed the optimal value of 1095, 0.60, 363 and 1055, respectively, for multilayer piezoelectric actuator application.

Ferroelectric Characteristics of Pb-containing Perovskite-Pyrochlore Composites (Pb계 Perovskite-Pyrochlore 복합체의 강유전특성)

  • Perovskite Pb0.7Ba0.3Zn1/3Nb2/3O3 substituted with 0.3 mole fraction for Pb-site in PbZn1/3Nb2/3O3 relaxor and pyrochlore Pb1.83Ba0.29Zn1.71Nb2/3O6.39 were mixed and dielectric characteristics of this composites were investigated. Percolation limit of perovskite phase, which was determined by microstructural observation in the composite as an isolation of perovskite phase from pyrochlore matrix, was 28.9-47.5 vol%. Ferroelectric phase transition below percolation limit depends on a parameter which affects the propagation of lattice vibration between isolated perovskite phase and pyrochlore matrix. Therefore, it is believed that ferroelectric lattice vibration of isolated perovskite phase could be transfered to pyrochlore matrix when the oxygen octahedra are linked in 3-dimension and highly polarizable Pb2+ ions are contained in both phases.

  • D-E hysteresis loops have been measured for the 65/35 mole % copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and trifIuoroethyIene over wide temperature range. The results were analyzed and discussed. The remanent polarization and the coercive field at room termperature were estimated to be 75 $mC/m^3$ and 55 MV/m respectively. D-E hysteresis loops were observed even below the glass transiation temperature$-20^{\circ}C$) and the remanent polarization and the coercive field were larger than larger, as the temperature lower. It seems that the remanent polarization and the coercive field depend on the amorphous region as well as crystalline region in this copolymer. And the ferroelectric-to-paraelectric phase transition was observed at $90^{\circ}C$ on heating and $80^{\circ}C$ on cooling. Double hysteresis loops were observed at the temperature($85^{\circ}C$) of paraelectric phase.
