  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of combinations of different accelerators mixed on the early age strength development of concrete of 21 to 27MPa in the curing temperature of $10^{\circ}C$ compared with existing early strength agent. The present study was assessed the early strength development of combinations of three different accelerating admixtures with early strength type agent comparing to single accelerating admixture with early strength type agent. As a result of this study, the effect of $CaBr_2+NaSCN+DEA$ combination on strength development showed better than $CaBr_2$ or NaSCN alone with early strength type agent. Therefore, we observed that concrete using $CaBr_2+NaSCN+DEA$ combination with early strength agent was achieved 5MPa 12hours earlier than use of $CaBr_2$ or NaSCN alone.

  • Recently, deflection of the slab during construction periods becoming one of the important issues because of increasing the large-span structures. Early removing the form and support of the slab to achieve the rapid construction cause falling-off in quality of the structures. To reduce these deterioration and make rapid construction, construction of strength and stiffness gain model is needed by the research about the early-age concrete properties. Previous research results indicated that concrete model in existing design codes could not provide the mechanical properties of early age concrete. This paper carried out the concrete compressive strength tests on the curing age at early age stage. Evaluation of the accuracy of compressive strength and modulus of elasticity gain formula in existing various design codes was performed based on this test results, and new design model was proposed. This new model will be useful to develop the new rapid construction methods or prevent the deterioration of the deflection at construction periods. Material tests were performed at 1, 3, 7, 14, 28 curing days, total 159 cylinder style specimens were tested. Based on analyzing the test results, the relationship between compressive strength and modulus of elasticity at early age was proposed.

  • The curing method used on domestic sites for checking the concrete compressive strength of a structure. The curing method used for testing the specimens must be the standard ponding curing method (20${\pm}$%$2^{\circ}$C). However, because in-placed concrete is exposed to open air and cured under the seasonal temperature changes, the compressive strength of a real structure is different from the tested compressive strength. Therefore the curing method suggested in this research, which sets the internal conditions of the structural specimens as the conditions of the applied curing method. this thesis suggests the specimen curing method that most closely re-enacts the compressive strength of the concrete used on the structural specimens

  • The effects of fiber content on strength properties of ultrarapid-hardening polymer-modified concretes with fiber. As a result, the compressive and flexural strengths of ultrarapid-hardening polymer-modified concretes with fiber increase with increasing of fiber content. In particular, the ultrarapid-hardening polymer-modified concretes with a polymer-cement ratio of 20% and a fiber content of 0.08% provide approximately two times higher flexural strength than unmodified concretes. Such high strength development is attributed to the high tensile strength of polymer and fiber and the improved bond between cement hydrates and aggregates because of the addition of polymer and fiber.

  • In this research, experiments were conducted to find out whether polycarboxylate could be used as a crude steel admixture for practical work, depending on the change in the replacement level of the compound mixed into polycarboxylate. Its fluidity was satisfactory, its airspace was a bit smaller than the KS standard, and its unit volume weight was proven to meet the standard. The amount of bleeding was smallest in B2, and in terms of the solidification time, the first and the last solidification was faster in A1, B1, and C1. With regard to the compressive strength in early days as acharacteristic of hardened concrete, all addition rates of 7-day C2 displayed the highest strength value, among which the addition rate of 1.3% had the biggest strength performance tendency. The seal strength also showed the strength performance rate which was about one tenth as big as that of the compressive strength. The length change rate resulting from dryness and contraction was proven to be good, and once the appropriate AE air entraining agent is used, it is evaluated to be a very useful and practical compound out in the field.

  • This fundamental study is to examine the significance and limitation of the fumed silica addition to enhance the early compressive strength gain and thermal conduction resistance of cement pastes. The fumed silica content varied from 0% to 1.6% of the cement content by wt% at an interval of 0.4%. Test results showed that the addition of fumed silica is favorable to enhancing the early strength gain of the cement pastes, indicating that 1-day compressive strength corresponded to 45% of the 28-day strength. This high-early strength gain rate is comparable to the trend commonly observed in steam-cured cement concrete. However, the addition of fumed silica little influenced the thermal conduction resistance of cement pastes.

  • This study investigated the response of GLUT-4 and GRP-78 protein expression in soleus muscle of Streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats with caffeine oral administration by imposing different exercise intensities. Rats were randomly divided into 5 groups (n=6 in each group): diabetic group (D), diabetic-caffeine group (DC), diabetic-caffeine group with low intensity exercise (DCL), diabetic-caffeine group with moderate intensity exercise (DCM) and diabetic-caffeine group with high intensity exercise (DCH). The rats in DCL, DCM and DCH groups were exercised acutely by treadmill running for 8 meter/m, 16 meter/m and 25 meter/m, respectively. Little difference in GLUT-4 protein expression was shown in DC and DCL compared to D. GLUT-4 protein expression was decreased in DCM and increased in DCH was observed. GRP-78 protein expressions in DCL, DCM and DCH were little lower than that of D. An increase in GRP-78 protein was observed in DC. Improved insulin sensitivity with acute high intensity exercise gives the rats important therapy that lowers insulin requirement. This improvement of insulin sensitivity for glucose transport in skeletal muscle results from translocation of the GLUT-4 protein from the endoplasmic reticilum to the cell surface and increase in total quantity of GLUT-4 protein. It is not clear what mechanism reduced GRP-78 protein level in exercise group. It is merely conjectured that caffeine-induced lipolysis provided cells with energy in abundance and this relieved stress which cells are subjected to receive when performing exercise.

  • In this study, revelation performance of concrete at early age according to types of cement, water reducing ratio of high performance superplasticizer and mixing of accelerator for early hydration was examined aiming for reduction of construction period of framework through securing strength at early age of concrete. It was observed that strength at early age, 5MPa in 12hours, 14MPa in 18hours, is secured by early strength improvement type cement and using promotion admixture for early hydration which are Sodium persulfate, Potassium hydroxide. Therefore cost reduction is expected to be possible in construction site by reducing construction period of frame work.

  • The effects of polymer-cement ratio on strength properties of ultrarapid-hardening acrylic-modified concretes. As a result, the flexural and tensile strengths of ultrarapid-hardening acrylic-modified concretes increase with increasing of polymer-cement ratio. In particular, the acrylic-modified concretes with a polymer-cement ratio of 20% provide approximately 1.5 times higher flexural and tensile strengths than unmodified concretes. Such high strength development is attributed to the high flexrul and tensile strengths of arcylic polymer and the improved bond between cement hydrates and aggregates because of the addition of acrylic polymer. However, the compressive strengths of ultrarapid-hardening acrylic-modified concretes decrease with increasing of polymer-cement ratio.

  • Recently early strength concrete has been required for economical assurance and the prevention of frost damage in winter through air reduction in construction of concrete structures. This study presented the optimum condition revealing compressive strength 5MPa which has the possibility of removal of form in 24 hours, and researched the changes of unit weight of cement types of high early strength AE water reducing agents, characteristic of compressive strength expression as cure temperature conditions and slump or airspace. Test results showed at $15^{\circ}C$ with compressive strength of 5MPa that premature removal of form was possible in case of using highly early strength PC water reducing agent with unit weight of cement 360 ; 22hours faster than 10, unit weight 360 ; 20hours faster than 7, unit weight 390 ; 18 hours faster than 4 comparing with OP water reducing agent. And at $5^{\circ}C$ in case of using highly early strength PC water reducing agent with unit weight of cement 330 ; 32hours faster than 10, unit weight 360 ; 30hours faster than 7, unit weight390 ; 27hours faster than 4 comparing with OP water reducing agent. Therefore as the temperature rises $10^{\circ}C$, compressive strength of 5MPa reaching hour shortens 10 hours.
