  • What made stand out among these police procedurals was its focus on the importance of history to understand both the past and contemporary society and culture. Many of the cases involve aspects of history that are not part of mainstream narratives and constitute the unfinished business of America. The flashback sequences throughout the show visually and affectively transport the viewer back to an earlier historical moment. What all the victims have in common is that they refused to be silent or passive in the face of circumstances they believed were wrong, or they refused to conform to dehumanising and destructive social and cultural expectation. Those promoting these lies have the power to establish their version as the power to establish their version as the "truth" of what happened in context, but viewers are positioned to see the truth as the victims experienced it and to identify with them and against the power abusers. The Cold Case detectives pursue the ghosts of American history, restoring to our view stories of lives and experiences rendered invisible and unspeakable by dominant forms of knowledge and power. The series invites viewrs to empathize with the victim and to develop an ethical commitment to social justice in the future.

  • Stanislavsky's acting system is based on the sensory memory of an incident that an actor has actually experienced, but Michael Chekhov insisted that in relation to the acting technique of actors, they should find the virtual and unreal external stimuli caused by emotion and imagination irrespective of their personal experience. As such, Stanislavsky's acting system and Michael Chekhov's acting technique are very different in terms of the acting method used. In actual acting, however, the acting system and the acting technique should have a close relationship. Any acting performed by an actor cannot be totally psychological or physical because the body and the mind cannot be separated. It is for this reason that all kinds of training should be both psychological and physical training and should not be conducted only mechanically. Acting is the ability of actors to imagine the virtual or fictitious reality and to express their indignation ability onstage. As actors stimulate and train their own fantasy and imagination, they can greatly improve their ability to embody or express the inner world of the characters they are portraying in a play.

  • The purpose of this study is to interpret the landscape of Soyojeong, Taegeojeong, Chungeuijeong and Chwihanjeong in the Ongnyucheon region of the Changdeokgung Palace by analyzing the landscape elements using the pavilion's hanging couplets. Next, the landscape elements would be classified and interpreted by the Tang dynasty poet named Wang Changnyeong(王昌齡, 698-757) who put forward the range of aesthetics. According to the three kinds of classified boundaries, the results were as follows. First, the characteristics of the 'Wujing(物境)' described at spring dawn or in the moonlit night when the rain stopped, dew condensed, blooming flowers were in the quiet garden, fishes were drawn from the pond, and golden ogres sung in a dense pine forest. Second, the characteristics of 'Qingjing(情境)' described the emperor who held a grand ceremony: he sat in the jade throne, red curtains and gorgeous fans are propped up etc. All of these were used to praise the reign of a stable and peaceful nation. Third, the characteristics of 'Yijing(意境)' mainly described the Ongnyucheon region's scenery as an immortal world where people can experience and reach a high spiritual realm such as the 'integrated as one(物我一體)'.

  • The objective of this research is investigating the mediating effect of job engagement on the relationship between job autonomy and innovative behavior in public organizations. Major findings from Structural Equation Model analysis demonstrates that the variable 'job engagement' took a positive role between job autonomy and innovative behavior. From theoretical point, this result provides the empirical evidence of causal relationship in the three components of attitude-cognition, emotion, and action, which contributes to the advancement of action theory. Some policy implications can be drawn from the empirical findings. Firstly, job autonomy need to be seriously considered as a strategic instrument for the encouragement of innovative behavior. Secondly, job engagement of employees need to be more carefully monitored to stimulate the innovative behavior in the public organizations. In public organizations, enhancement of innovative behavior can not be achieved from institutional arrangements. Provision of job autonomy is more effective method of behavior change than performance management approach.
