Effects of Emotional Labor, Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment on Turnover Intention in Nurses (간호사의 감정노동, 직무만족, 조직몰입이 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined relations of emotional labor, job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intention in nurses. The subjects were 320 nurses in 5 general hospitals. The data was collected using a structured questionnaire from August 1 to 20, 2013 and analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and Hierarchical multiple linear regression analysis. The mean scores of the emotional labor level, job satisfaction level, organizational commitment, and turnover intention was $2.79{\pm}.66$, $3.05{\pm}.48$, $3.00{\pm}.53$, and $3.13{\pm}.66$, respectively. Positive correlations of the turnover intention with emotional labor were found. Negative correlations were observed among salary, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and turnover intention. These results showed that nurses working at five general hospitals needed to minimize emotional labor to maintain a comparatively high level of job satisfaction, organizational commitment and decrease the turnover intention.

Organizational Culture, Organizational Structure and Emotional Labor of Dental Workers Impact of Convergence on Job Satisfaction (치과종사자들의 조직문화, 조직구조 및 감정노동의 융합적 관계가 직무만족에 미치는 영향)

  • This study surveyed the convergence of organizational culture, organizational structure, emotional labor on job satisfaction of dental workers and analyzed it with SPSS WIN18.0 program to obtain statistically significant results(p<.05). Organizational culture was high men, dental hygienist, university graduates, hospitals, many workers, High income. Organization structure was high hospitals, many workers. Emotional labor was high low age and career, single, drinking. Job satisfaction was high more than 10 workers, high income. There was a positive correlation between job satisfaction, organizational culture, organizational structure. The regression analysis showed that Y (job satisfaction) = .907 + .106 (organizational structure). Therefore, in order to enhance job satisfaction of dental workers, it is necessary to make an effort to form a positive organizational culture by considering variables related to organizational structure.

An Study on the Emotional Labor of Traditional Performing Artists (전통공연예술인의 감정노동에 관한 연구)

  • This ethnographic study aimed to understand the emotional labor of traditional performing artists who hide and control their emotions in performances and the components and characteristics of their emotional labor by means of in-depth interviews with traditional performing artists and Giorgi's analysis method. As a result of the analysis, first, the factors that lead to emotional labor of traditional performing artists can be divided into external and internal ones. The external factors arose from expressing various emotions while creating or suppressing their own emotions in an effort to draw out the emotions of the audience. Also, emotional labor occurred depending on the performance place, performance type and audience reaction. The internal factors consisted of the emotional burden experienced due to concerns over mistakes and audience satisfaction as they voluntarily commit themselves to the performance in order to satisfy the audience. Second, complex emotions that remain after the performance sometimes lead to aftereffects of emotional labor. Third, factors of emotional labor that originate from belonging to an organization had an influence, which resulted in their considering job change or resignation. Fourth, emotional labor arises from the specificity of the traditional performing arts field, that is, negative perceptions and unfair internal practices of traditional performing arts. The study showed that traditional performing artists relieve their emotional labor through hobbies and chatting with colleagues, and took the emotional labor as granted, not recognizing that the occupational emotional labor as emotional labor. This study is significant in that it recognized and analyzed traditional performing artists as emotional workers and focused on the emotional labor components of traditional performing artists.

The Study on the Relationships of Emotional Labor, Job Satisfaction, Turnover Intention, and Resilience (비서의 감정노동, 직무만족, 이직의도와 회복탄력성간의 관련성에 대한 연구)

  • The aim of this study is to examine the relationships between emotional labor of surface acting and deep acting along with job satisfaction and turnover intention. Furthermore, the study attempts to understand the moderating effects of resilience on adjustment in regards to the emotional labor, surface acting and deep acting, and job satisfaction and turnover intention. For this study, a survey was conducted among administrative assistants and five hypotheses were verified. The findings of this research are summarized as follows: First, the surface acting of emotional labor has a statistically significant positive correlational effect on turnover intentions. Second, the deep acting of emotional labor has a statistically significant negative correlational effect on turnover intentions. Third, the surface acting of emotional labor has a statistically significant negative correlational effect on job satisfaction. Fourth, the deep acting of emotional labor has a statistically significant positive correlational effect on job satisfaction. Fifth, there is a moderating effect of resilience between the deep acting of emotional labor and job satisfaction. This study is meaningful in that it helps understand the relationship between the administrative assistants' emotional labor, resilience, turnover intention, and job satisfaction and that it proposes implications on vitalizing organizational communication and emotional programs.

The Effects of Perceived Justice of Service Recovery Efforts on the Customer Relationship Performance in Mobile Social Commerce (모바일 소셜 커머스에서 서비스 회복 노력의 공정성이 대고객 관계성과에 미치는 영향)

  • This paper aims to examine the effects of perceived justice of service recovery efforts on the customer relationship performance in mobile social commerce. To this end, we classified cognitive-affective trusts and post-recovery satisfaction into the customer relationship performance. This research employs a field survey of customers who experienced service failures in mobile social commerce and a covariance structural model analysis in order to test hypotheses of our research model. The findings present that all justices of service recovery efforts positively affect the cognitive trust, whereas the only procedural justice significantly influences the affective trust. In addition, the results show that cognitive-affective trusts have a positive effect on the post-recovery satisfaction. Our results suggest practical implications that are used to help managers maintain and improve relations with the customers who experienced service failures and to increase the post-recovery satisfaction.

Effects on Job Satisfactions by an emotional Intelligence and Conflict-relations of Social Workers in a Long-term care Facilities : focused on the moderating effects of communications (노인요양시설 종사자의 감성지능과 갈등관계가 직무만족에 미치는 영향 : 소통의 조절효과 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to demonstrate moderating effect of communications on job satisfactions by an emotional intelligence and conflict-relations of employees and to investigate the influence on job satisfactions by an emotional intelligence and conflict-relations of employees in a long-term care facilities. The results were analyzed from the final responses of 379 employees who are working in a long-term care facilities in Gyeong-Gi Province by SPSS 18.0. The method used in this study were factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA, hierarchical regression analysis, moderated regression analysis. The results of this study are as in the following. First, these consequences showed that an emotional intelligence is positively related with job satisfaction among others' emotional appraisal, use of emotion, regulation of emotion and self emotional appraisal. Second, these results are observed that the conflicts of client's protector and superior is negatively related with job satisfaction. Third, these data are convinced that the communications have a partial effects among conflict, relationship and compensation.

Effects of Emotional Labor and Job Stress of Broadcast Artist on Job Satisfaction (방송연예인의 감정노동과 직무스트레스가 직무만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • Despite growing importance of emotional laborer management in broadcast artist, there are very few empirical studies on the effects thereof. The purpose of this study is to identify effects of emotional labor and job stress of broadcast artist on job satisfaction and their relations. Of the 200 distributed questionnaires 120 copies were used in the analysis. The results of the study were as follows. The results of the study showed that there exist strong relationship between emotional labor($r=-.226^*$) & job stress($r=-.505^{**}$) and job satisfaction. Emotional labor and job stress show significant effects on job satisfaction negatively(${\Delta}R2=.292$, F=5.557, p<.01). The implications of the results and research topics to be studied were discussed.

Emotional Labor, Job Satisfaction and Turnover Intention of Nurses in the Regional General Hospital (지역 종합병원 간호사의 감정노동과 직무만족도 및 이직의도)

  • This research is conducted to grasp emotional labor, job satisfaction, and related turnover intention of nurses at a regional general hospital; to lower level of emotional labor; to raise job satisfaction; to reduce turnover intention; to perform efficient personnel management; and then, to provide qualitative nursing care. Convenient sampling of 100 nurses at a general hospital in D city, who agreed to participation in the test, was made and an analysis method of t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation was used from April 6 to April 12, 2015 by using questionnaires. According to the research, average score of emotional labor was $3.37{\pm}.85$; average score of job satisfaction was $2.86{\pm}.66$; and, average score of turnover intention $3.47{\pm}.87$. Emotional labor had negative correlation with job satisfaction (r=-.56, p<.001) but it showed positive correlation with turnover intention (r=.67, p<.001) while job satisfaction revealed negative correlation with turnover intention (r=-.64, p<.001). According to result of the research, it is required to prepare systematic measures in order to lower level of emotional labor of nurses who play important role of the hospital and to raise job satisfaction, and it is also required to make positive efforts to solve fundamental problems to provide high quality caring service through satisfying nurses' morale.

The Effects of Emotional Labor Level on the Level of Job Satisfaction and Library Information Service Provision in Public Library Librarians (공공도서관 사서의 감정노동수준이 직무만족 및 도서관정보서비스 제공수준에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aims to investigate the effects of emotional labor level on the level of job satisfaction and library information service provision in public libraries. The research model used emotional labor levels as an independent variable; job satisfaction and level of library information service provision as a dependent variable; and organizational culture as a control factor. The data were collected randomly from 220 librarians of public libraries in Seoul by distributing and collecting internet surveys. Reliability analysis, correlation coefficient analysis, multiple regression analysis, and regression analysis were performed using the SPSS 18.0 program. The statistic hypothesis test results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, public library librarians did not like to express their emotions to users, trying to express their emotions more positively than what they were actually feeling. Second, although librarians experience emotional labors, they feel a sense of achievement when undertaking their tasks and develop pride and happiness in their work. As librarians perceive their work professional, they overcome emotional labors, and have pride in their work. Third, although librarians experience emotional labors, a reasonable job evaluation with goals, and their relationships with colleagues would lead to accomplishment in their work. In addition, although the evaluation of employees is focused on performance, librarians improve their service if library users are satisfied with their service and the services are provided adequately.

A Study on the Influence of Physical Surroundings of Restaurants in Local Specialities Food Town on Customer Emotional Responses and Satisfaction (지역 특산물 먹거리 타운 식당의 물리적 환경이 고객의 감정과 만족에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 - 정읍시 산외한우마을을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this research is to examine the importance of the physical surroundings for the restaurants in the local specialities food town and how their physical surroundings influence on the customer emotional responses and satisfaction to suggest the improvements and implications of the physical surroundings. The questionnaire for a survey was distributed to the customers who have visited the restaurants specialized in Korean beef located in the Sanoei Korean beef town, Jeongeup. The results of this research are as follows. First, except for attractiveness among the factors of physical surroundings(convenience, attractiveness, cleanliness and amusement), as cleanliness and convenience occupy high degree, customers were presented to response more emotionally. Second, except for attractiveness among convenience, attractiveness, cleanliness and amusement, as cleanliness and convenience occupy high degree, customers were presented to be more satisfied. Third, customer emotional response influences on customer satisfaction with the food town for local speciality.
