A study on the optimization of light weight high efficiency shield for gamma-ray imaging detector (감마선 영상화 장치용 경량 고효율 차폐체 최적설계에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, we perform the weight reduction and miniaturization of the shielding element that is applied for gamma-ray detectors for imaging of gamma-ray source. Through previous studies, we implemented a lead-based shielding element that represents the shielding effectiveness and performance of commercially available gamma-ray imaging apparatus similar to the shielding body. In this paper, we designed a tungsten-based shield for weight reduction and miniaturization than lead-based shield. We performed the MCNP simulation for shield design and then we obtained the results of reducing the weight of the 17% and 51% of the volume.

  • In this study, we perform the structure change of the shielding this is applied for gamma-ray detectors for imaging of gamma-ray source. Through previous studies, we implemented the commercially available gamma-ray imaging apparatus similar to the shielding body but weight reduction, center of gravity moving of shield. In this paper, we changed a shield for motion control detectors efficient movement. We performed the MCNP simulation of shield design and then we obtained the results of reducing the weight of the 17% and moving of center of gravity the shield center.

  • Stereo gamma ray detection system generates a two-dimensional image of the gamma ray by using the position values and the gamma ray signal. And the device will overlap with the visible light image shows the actual distribution of the gamma-ray space. The gamma ray detection device is a stereo configuration to a motion controller for controlling the signal measurement unit and the position detection portion for detecting the detection portion and the gamma-ray signal comprising a gamma-ray detection sensor. In this paper, we developed a system operation management algorithm for each module individually configured efficiently. We confirmed the imaged and distribution information output for the gamma rays from gamma-ray irradiation test site by using these results.

The Visualization and the Fast Detection of Gamma Radiation Source using Stereo Image Processing (영상처리기반 감마선원 거리탐지 고속화 및 가시화 연구)

  • The stereo radiation detection system detects the gamma source and acquires two dimensional left and right images for gamma source and visible objects using the detection result. And then the system measures the distance to the radiation source from the system in 3D space using stereo vision algorithm. In this paper, we implemented the fast detection algorithm for gamma source from the system in 3D space to reduce the detection time with image processing algorithms. Additionally, the system's performance is verified through experiments on gamma irradiation facilities. As a result, if the fast detection algorithm applied to the system, we can confirm that the detection system represents a 35% better performance than the conventional detection method that is full scanning to acquire the stereo image. We also have visualized a gamma source distribution through a 3D monitor using the stereo vision algorithm in order to provide the information of radiation spatial distribution to the user efficiently.

  • Stereo-based spatial radiation detection devices can obtain not only spatial distribution information about the radiation source but also distance information from the detection device to the source. And it provides more efficient information on the source than the existing radiation imaging device. In order to provide high-speed information on the spectrum and type of gamma-ray source, a high-sensitivity detection sensor with high sensitivity is required, and a technique capable of solving the saturation phenomenon at a high dose is needed. In this paper, we constructed a high sensitivity sensor for the measurement of multiple gamma - ray spatial distributions using improved function of detection module to solve saturation to high dose and conducted research to increase the scope of a single detector. The result of this paper improves the performance of gamma ray.

  • Gamma-ray Detector for gamma-ray imaging device is composed of a shielding body for shielding gamma-rays incident from the radiation source. Distribution of the gamma ray can be represented by the distribution information on the direction in which the detecting section and the signal through the incident hole of collimator. The role of the shield is important because all signals should be treated as noise except for the signal from the incident hole.In this paper In this paper, we have produced a compact, lightweight and Collimator shield by changing the structure and physical properties with respect to the collimator and shielding of lead-based gamma-ray detectors. And we analyzed the shielding effectiveness relative to the incident gamma ray sphere measured signal value through the gamma irradiation test facility. The results confirmed that the production and Collimator shielding the imaging device Implementing more efficient to implement.

  • 현대 산업이 점차 세분화되고 산업용 반응조, 수조, 송수관 등 시설물이 증가하고 시설물의 관리가 증가함에 따라 본 논문에서는 감마선을 이용한 결합 검출기를 개발하였다. 물질의 투과성이 좋은 감마선의 특성을 이용하여 물체의 결합을 측정을 한다. 감마선이 물체를 투과하여 수집된 데이터를 영상 신호처리를 하여 이미지로 나타냄으로서 측정을 하는 사용자가 물체의 결합의 위치를 쉽게 알 수 있도록 하였으며 측정기기를 소형화하여 이동을 편리하게 하는데 본 논문은 목적을 두고 하드웨어를 제작하였으며, 물체내부의 결함은 영상 신호처리의 시뮬레이션을 통해서 확인하였다.

  • In the study, stereo-based of gamma-ray sources detector for the space including the gamma-ray source to scan in a raster scan method, and obtains a visible light image and the gamma-ray image. We went to retrieve and visualize the distance to source and the direction of the 3-dimension information from Stereo gamma-ray detectors. Configuration of the detector consisted of gamma-ray detecting sensor for gamma-ray Sources, pan-tilt for the scanning of the raster for detecting sources, and CCD camera for visible-light image. Implement a stereo structure of the device to measure the spatial distribution of source, the gamma-ray Detector and CCD camera for the stereo image acquisition was as each configuration 2. The gamma-ray detector and a visible light camera to revision the distribution of detection source, After performing each of the cameras of the stereo correction and shows the distribution of the gamma-ray Sources through 중첩 visible light image and the gamma-ray image. After Rectification process of Left and right image, we were derived visualization results of the stereo image.

  • In case of dismantling of nuclear power generation facility or radiation accident, the accurate information of gammaray source is essential for rapid decontamination. In order to more efficiently represent the position of the gamma ray to be removed, we create a spatial domain based on the real image. And we can perform decontamination of gamma-ray source more quickly by expressing the distribution of radiation source. The developed gamma ray imaging device overlaps with the visible image after gamma - ray detection and provides only two - dimensional image, but it does not show the distance information to the source. In this paper, we have developed a operation environment using the 3D visualization model for reporting effective decontamination operation.

  • In this paper, we have designed the collimator of different sizes structure for the development of stereo radiation detector. And we conducted a study of the optimal structure of collimator using the results of the Gamma-ray irradiation test associated with the change of the incident angle. According to the results of the performance analysis, and showed the results of the optimal incident angle 2. Results of the paper are used as basic data for designing the structure of the detector efficiency for radiation detection.
