  • This study was conducted to examine the convergence effects of a simulation-based handoff training program on nursing students' handoff performance ability and handoff confidence. A quasi-experimental study of pre and post-experimental design was performed on 104 nursing college students located in P city and A city and the developed simulation-based handoff training program was implemented for 2 weeks from October 30 to November 10, 2017. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 21.0 program with x2 test, Fisher's exact test, independent t-test, ANCOVA with pretest value as covariate. The experimental group had significantly different handoff Performance Ability in comparison to the control group. The simulation-based handoff training program can be used as an effective handoff training program to enhance the handoff performance ability of nursing students.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an educational program to promote breastfeeding by understanding the knowledge and attitudes of nursing students. The survey was conducted on 504 students in the first, second, third, and fourth grades. The data collected was analyzed using SPSS/WIN 20.0 version. Knowledge of breastfeeding was statistically significant for gender, grade, subject, breastfeeding experience, breastfeeding experience, desired information provider, and educational needs(p<.05). Nursing attitudes were statistically significant according to gender, grade, breastfeeding experience, breastfeeding experience, and educational needs(p<.05). There was a statistically significant correlation between knowledge and attitude of breastfeeding(r=.237, p<.001). On the basis of this, we need a systematic and diverse breast feeding program for nursing students.

  • The purpose of this study was conducted to identify perceptions about the relationship between poverty and health and examined the attitudes toward poverty among nursing students. This study administered a standardized questionnaire to 198 nursing students at a university. The data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0. The results of the study showed that nursing students recognized the importance of nursing education for poverty. They also recognized that clinical practice and extra-curricular programs such as volunteer activities were necessary for nursing education. Furthermore, they were aware of the vicious cycle of poverty and health; however, their awareness of the health behavior of the poor was insufficient. In the perception of attitudes toward poverty, individual explanations of poverty tended to be more common than structural explanations, and there was a difference in scores according to age, economic level, political orientation, and clinical practice. In conclusion, it is necessary to develop programs, such as multidisciplinary convergence clinical practice education and volunteer activities, to produce competent nurses to health inequity care for the poor.

  • In this study, an attempt was made to prepare an effective human rights sensitivity education plan for nursing students. This study was before and after a non-equal control group that identified human rights sensitivity and patient rights awareness. As a result of the study, the human rights sensitivity of the subjects averaged 40.22 out of 90 points. The effect on human rights sensitivity through case-based human rights sensitivity education showed that students who received training to improve case-based human rights sensitivity improved human rights sensitivity and patient rights awareness than those who did not(t=2.765,p=.006, t=-5.768,p=.000). As a result of this study, it is considered that the foundation of the curriculum to improve the human rights sensitivity of nursing students should be prepared. We propose a later study on the relationship between clinical practice and human rights sensitivity.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the differences in transfer motivation and learning self-efficacy before and after applying virtual simulation for nursing in psychiatric nursing practice, and to provide them as basic data for effective psychiatric practical education. This study was conducted from October to December 2020. The subjects were 41 people who were enrolled in the third year of a located in U city, and who had received psychiatric nursing practice education using virtual simulation for nursing. Data were analyzed by paired t-test and pearson's correlation coefficient. After practice compared to before psychiatric nursing practice with virtual simulation nursing applied, transfer motivation was significantly increased and learner self-efficacy increased, but it was not statistically significant. Therefore, It was confirmed that psychiatric nursing practice education using virtual simulation for nursing is partly an effective practice strategy.

  • This study is a comparative study before and after a single group to identify the effect of convergence class operation on the self-directed learning ability, problem-solving ability and major satisfaction of nursing students in the social-tailored curriculum. The survey was conducted on 79 nursing students from C University. Self-directed learning ability, problem-solving ability and major satisfaction level have been improved since application before applying convergence class. Through this study, we hope to open and operate various curricula in nursing colleges that meet the needs of the community, provide students with various opportunities, cultivate self-directed learning skills, problem-solving skills, and major satisfaction so that learners can solve problems themselves in order to maximize their effects, and develop various contents in the university.

  • The aim of this study was to identify the convergence influencing factors on disaster nursing core competencies of nursing students. The subjects of this study surveyed 187 nursing students in D city with a structured self-report questionnaire. Data were analyzed by the SPSS 18.0 program, t-test, ANOVA, correlation and multiple regression. The disaster nursing core competencies average mean score was 3.15(±0.40). Grade and satisfaction of clinical practice were the significant factors related to disaster nursing core competencies in these subjects. Disaster nursing core competencies was positively correlated with disaster perception, disaster attitudes and self-efficacy. The influencing factors on disaster nursing core competencies were self-efficacy(β=0.276), disaster attitudes(β=0.200) and grade(β=0.172). The explanatory power of these variables was 19.1%. Therefore, it is necessary to develop disaster related curriculum and subjects that can improve the disaster nursing core competencies based on the important factors affecting the disaster nursing core competencies.

  • The purpose of this descriptive research was to investigate importance awareness on peripheral intravenous infusion, and to identify the factors influencing on importance awareness among 128 children's hospital nurses. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, T-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis and Hierarchical multiple regression using SPSS 21.0. Importance awareness on peripheral intravenous infusion of children's hospital nurses was the lowest in education, and the highest in hand hygiene. There were significant differences in subdomains of peripheral intravenous infusion according to marriage state, working department, position and final education(p<.001~.046), and there were positive correlations between education and importance awareness of peripheral intravenous infusion(p<.001). And factors affecting importance awareness were education(${\beta}=.446$) and working department(${\beta}=.247$), and explannation rate was 31.0%(p<.001). These results could be used as basic data of educational program on peripheral intravenous infusion for children's hospital nurses after repeated study.

A convenience sample of 200 nursing students were recruited from a college in G city, from May 12 to 16. 2014. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed with SPSS/PC ver 21.0 programs. There were significantly positive correlations between nurse image, nursing professionalism and major satisfaction. Nursing professionalism fully mediated the relationship between nurse image and major satisfaction. These findings indicate that increasing nursing professionalism can be an effective way to change nurse image more positive among nursing students, especially before clinical practice. A collaborative effort among nursing education and nursing leaders in practice is needed to change nurse image more positive.

  • The purposed of this study was to identify the factors that affect Confidence in Performance Patient Safety Management targeted nursing students. The study subjects were 228 nursing students. The nursing students experienced patientl safety accidents in the fall (50.0%), needle puncture (18.5%), Patient identification error (12.0%), injection medication error (7.5%) and oral medication errors (4.3%). In the logistic regression analysis, Attitude of Patient Safety Management(t=6.09, p<.001), Clinical Decision Making(t=3.97, p<.001) and gender(t=2.56, p=.011) were significant factors related to Confidence of Performance Patient Safety Management. Based on the results of this study, we propose to develop a convergence education program that considers patient safety management attitude, clinical decision making ability, and gender in order to improve confidence of performance patient safety management of nursing students.
