Mediating Effects of Organizational Silence between Workplace Bullying and Organizational Performance among Nurses (간호조직 내 태움과 조직성과에 관한 연구: 조직침묵의 매개효과 분석을 중심으로)

  • This study is to analyze the relationship between Taeoom(workplace bullying) and organizational performance and to investigate the mediating effects of organizational silence between the relationship among nurses. In order to test the causal and mediating effects, this study employs the mediation analyses with regression. The sample is 273 from A university hospital in Seoul. Based on the results, Taeoom is basically, negatively associated with organizational performance. Acquiescence silence has played a full mediating role in the relationship between Taeoom and organizational performance. That is, Taeoom is not directly associated with organizational performance; however, it has a negative effect on organizational performance through acquiescence silence. Defensive silence plays a partial mediating role in the interdependence relationship. The implications of this study are that the negative effects of Taeoom would increase organizational silence and performance directly and indirectly; therefore, it is necessary to provide institutional prevention of Taeoom.

Effects of a Simulation-based Stroke Care Education on Nursing Performance Ability and Satisfaction in Nursing Students (뇌졸중 대상자간호 시뮬레이션 교육이 간호학생의 수행능력과 만족도에 미치는 효과)

  • The aim of the study was to verify the effects of simulation-based stroke care education on the nursing performance ability and satisfaction among nursing students. The study used a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. A total of 64 nursing students in a nursing college participated in this study. The participants were assigned conveniently according to the academic year to either the experimental group in 2013 (n = 32) or control group in 2014 (n = 32). The experimental group received a simulation-based stroke care education, and the control group received a clinical placement with self-directed practicum. The data was analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test. The results showed that the scores of the overall nursing performance ability (z = -3.373, p < .001) and satisfaction (z = -3.245, p = .001) in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group. Overall, simulation-based stroke care education is an effective teaching strategy of improving the nursing performance ability and satisfaction among nursing students.

Meta-Analysis of Factors Related to Patient Safety Nursing in Nursing University Students (간호대학생의 환자안전간호 관련요인에 대한 메타분석)

  • Purpose is to systematically examine the factors related to patient safety nursing of nursing university students in a convergent and complex aspect and to identify the effect size through meta-analysis. The research method used PRISMA(Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses). Medline, Embases, CINAHL, DBpia, Research Information Service System (Riss), and Korean Studies Information Service (Kiss) were used, while overseas databases were searched using MeSH terms and Emtrees. The search term was [(patient safety or patient harm or safety management) and (students, nursing)] or [(patient safety or patient harm or safety management) and (education, nursing, graduate)].The research found that nursing performance, knowledge, attitude, self-confidence, recognition, and cognition were found to be relevant factors in the order of confidence, attitude, recognition, and knowledge.

The Effects of Nursing Work Environment and Emotional Labor on Job Satisfaction of Nurses in Provincial Medical Centers (공공병원 간호사의 간호근무환경과 감정노동이 직무만족에 미치는 영향)

  • Identifying the factors between nursing work environment and emotional labor to job satisfaction for nurses in public hospitals, 176 nurses who worked at six medical centers in Gyeonggi-do as study subjects were selected. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, t-test, post-test Scheffe's test, and multiple regression analysis with SPSS/WIN program(23.0). In the results to identify the factors that influence the job satisfaction, the better the nursing work environment(β=.797, p=.000) and the lower the degree of emotional labor(β=-.089, p=.045), the higher the job satisfaction. Additionally, job satisfaction increased when nurses cared the fewer number of patients. To increase job satisfaction for nurses, the policy should be considered to care fewer patients per a nurse, improve work environment and decrease emotional labor.

Influencing Factors on Breast self-examination performance of nursing students (간호대학생의 유방자가검진 수행에 미치는 영향 요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the influencing factors on the breast self-examination performance among nursing students. The data collection period was from April 12 to April 26, 2021. Data was gathered from 240 nursing students by using a structured questionnaire. The data was analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficients and a stepwise regression analysis using the SPSS/WIN 25.0 program. As the result of this study, the factors influencing breast self-examination perfomance were found to be breast self-examination and dietary habits with the explanatory power of these variables being 14.2%(F=19.53, 𝜌<.001). Based on this study, further study may be needed to evaluate the dietary habits of nursing students so that they can practice proper eating behavior. In addition, to maximize the educational effect, there may need to be a development of programs aimed to prevent breast cancer among nursing students.

Achievement Experience of Nursing Students Through Simulation Practicum (시뮬레이션 실습을 통한 간호학생의 성취 경험)

  • This study was conducted with the aim of exploring the essence of the achievements experienced by nursing students while enhancing their problem-solving abilities through simulation practical training. The study participants included 13 fourth-year nursing students, and data were collected through individual interviews conducted after the simulation practical training. Data analysis followed the qualitative research method of content analysis, involving coding, categorization, and thematization of the data. The results of this study revealed that nursing students' achievement experiences through simulation practical training included the following processes: "confirming confidence through improvement," "acknowledging change," "experiencing nursing self-efficacy," and "getting closer to the goal of clinical practice." Furthermore, it is suggested that efforts should be made to implement efficient operation and evaluation tools through multifaceted and meticulous design to promote integrated learning through simulation practical training and to confirm the process of internalizing knowledge through reflection by nursing students.

Effects of Importance in the Knowledge of Nursing Records, Critical Thinking Disposition and Self-confidence of Core Nursing Skills on Clinical Competence with Nursing Students (간호대학생의 간호기록 작성 지식의 중요도, 비판적 사고성향, 핵심간호술에 대한 수행 자신감이 임상수행능력에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the influence of importance in the knowledge of nursing records, critical thinking disposition and self-confidence of core nursing skills on clinical competence of nursing students. A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 201 Korean nursing students from October to December, 2020. As a result of the study, the factors affecting the clinical competence of nursing students were in the order of critical thinking disposition, importance in the knowledge of nursing records and self-confidence of core nursing skills(β=.43, .31, .24), and explanatory power was 61.9%. Therefore, it is recommend to develop and implement a teaching strategy that can integrate the major factors identified in this study for improving clinical competence of nursing students.

Influence of Communication Competence and Compassionate Competence on Academic Self-efficacy of Nursing Students (간호대학생의 의사소통 능력과 공감역량이 학업적 자기효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is a descriptive study to investigate the effects of communication competence and compassionate competence on academic self-efficacy of nursing students. The subjects of this study were 131 nursing students and the data collection was from November 5 to 30, 2018. Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis. Significant relationships were found among communication competence and compassionate competence and academic self-efficacy. Motivation for admission, adaptation of nursing, participation on practice and compassion competence were found to academic self-efficacy. Therefore, in order to increase the academic self-efficacy it is necessary to make efforts to increase the participation on practice and to improve compassion competence as a strategy to increase academic self-efficacy of nursing students.

Factors associated with Interpersonal Relationship Ability and Academic Achievement of Nursing Studentes: A Mediation Effect of Smartphone Addiction (간호대학생의 대인관계 능력과 학업 성취도의 영향요인; 스마트폰 중독의 매개효과)

  • This study aimed to investigate the effect of smart-phone addiction on the between interpersonal relationship ability and academic achievement among nursing students. The study is a cross-sectional survey and the participants were 160 students from one university located in G city. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression and Sobel test to test the significance of a mediation effect using SPSS 25 software. Results of the multiple regression were that smartphone addiction, had a significant negative effect on interpersonal relationship ability and academic achievement in nursing students. These findings imply that cinterpersonal relationship ability is important to improve the level of academic achievement in nursing students. This study highlights the value of interpersonal relationship ability and the need to develop various convergence education strategies to promote smartphone addiction managment way to cultivate nursing students' academic achievement.

The Influence of Empathy on Interpersonal Competence in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 공감능력이 대인관계 유능성에 미치는 영향)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생의 공감능력이 대인관계 유능성에 영향을 미치는 요인을 규명하는 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구대상자는 198명의 간호대학생이었다. 구조화된 자가 보고식 설문지를 이용하여 자료를 수집하였으며, 자료 분석은 SPSS 18.0 WIN 프로그램을 사용하여 빈도와 백분율, 평균과 표준편차, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson co- rrelation coefficient, multiple regression analy- sis를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 연구대상자의 공감능력이 인간관계 유능성과 유의한 정적 상관관계가 있었다. 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 공감능력은 인간관계 유능성에 영향을 미치는 유의한 요인으로 나타났으며, 공감에 대한 설명력은 30.0%이었다. 결론적으로, 간호대학생의 대인관계 유능성에 영향을 미치는 공감능력 증진을 위한 중재 프로그램을 개발하여 적용할 필요가 있다.
