A total of 244 questionnaires obtained by a survey targeting nurses, who were doing shift work in a university hospital located in B city, in the period from March 2 to 15, 2015 were analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 program. As a result, the mean score of job stress was 3.57 points, and the mean score of nursing performance was 3.69 points. Job stress made a significant positive(+) influence on the sub-dimensions of interpersonal duty. Therefore, efforts should be made to more accurately identify shift work nurses' job stress and efficiently manage the nursing personnel. Moreover, if shift work nurses' job stress is effectively managed by preparing practical job stress management intervention programs for continuous improvement of nursing performance, high quality medical services will be provided through high quality nursing practice.

  • The aim of this study is to verify the relationships of factors affecting nursing performance of clinical nurses focused on positive affective events. The subjects of this study were 275 clinical nurses from secondary and tertiary general hospitals. Data collection was conducted for two months from May 2021 through an online survey through snowball sampling. Data analyzed was using SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 26.0. The variables affecting job satisfaction included direct effect of positive affective events (β=.65, p<.001), and direct effect of positive affectivity (β=.10, p=.038). Job satisfaction (β=.47, p<.001) had statistically significant direct effects on nursing performance. Positive affective events (β=.32, p=.003) and positive affectivity (β=.05, p=.039) had statistically significant indirect effects on nursing performance. These variables explained for 22% of nursing performance. However, emotional labor had no significant effect on job satisfaction and nursing performance. The results indicate that positive affective events and positive affectivity result in high degree of job satisfaction. Job satisfaction would increase the level of nursing performance. Therefore, in order to improve nursing performance, it is necessary to provide educational opportunities and interventions that can promote positive work environment and positive affectivity.

  • This study is a descriptive research to grasp the effects of nursing performance on emotional labor, job stress and resilience in general hospital nurses. Method: I surveyed them using a structured questionnaire for collecting data from Aug. 20, 2019 to Sep. 2, 2019. The collected data were analyzed by the frequency, the percentage, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's Test, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, and Multiple Regression Analysis. Results: The factors affecting nursing performance of the subjects were resilience (β=0.58, p<.001), and current position is head nurse (β=0.21, p<.01), the number of working years at current working place (β=0.18, p<.05). The F statistics for the fit of the estimated regression model was very significant as 30.901(p<.001) and the explanatory power was 42.4%. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that resilience was the most influential factor to nursing performance of general hospital nurses, and the number of working years at current working place was the most influential factor to the performance of head nurses. Therefore, it is necessary to develop practical programs strengthening resilience of nurses for the improvement of nursing performance and to apply strategies on development.

  • This descriptive research study investigates nursing Workplace spirituality, grateful disposition, hope, and nursing performance of clinical nurses to identify related factors. The study participants were 323 nurse working general hospitals K, P, and S cities. Data were collected during July and August 2022 using a structured questionnaire. The SPSS 25.0 program was used to analyze descriptive statistic, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and hierarchical regression analysis. The study results indicated that nursing performance was 4.23 out of 7, nursing workplace spirituality was 4.48 out of 7, grateful disposition was 4.23 out of 7, and hope was 2.77 out of 4. Result showed that nursing performance is positive associated nursing workplace spirituality (r=.58, p<.001), grateful disposition (r=.41, p<.001), and hope (r=.47, p<.001). The result of hierarchical regression analysis that grateful disposition (β=.417, p<.001), hope (β=.357, p<.001), and nursing workplace spirituality (β=.235, p<.001), were predictive of nursing performance (R2=.301, p<.000). Therefore, educational programs and workforce management systems that can enhance nursing workplace spirituality, grateful disposition, and hope in the workplace are needed to improve nursing performance.

Teamwork skill and decision making competency for nursing work performance showed significant positive correlation. The significant predictors of nursing work performance among nurses were total clinical experience (${\beta}=.23$, p<.001), teamwork skill (${\beta}=.61$, p<.001) and decision making competency (${\beta}=.13$, p=.015). These variables explained 66% of the variance in nursing work performance among nurses. The results indicate that nurses' teamwork skill and decision making competency are factors positively influencing on nursing work performance.

The data were collected from a survey conducted in 257 nurses at a single hospital in Seoul from May to June 2020. The collected data were analyzed through t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis by using an SPSS 25.0 program. The total score was an average of 25.40±5.49 (range: 6-36) for gratitude disposition, 65.15±9.18 (range: 21-105) for job satisfaction, 87.64±12.05 (range: 23-115) for nursing performance, and 35.68±6.79 (range: 0-45) for nursing productivity. Nursing productivity was positively correlated with gratitude disposition (r=.219, p<.001), job satisfaction (r=.440, p<.001), and nursing performance (r=.494, p<.001). Nursing productivity was affected by gratitude disposition (β=.144), nursing performance (β=.394), and job satisfaction (β=.278). On the basis of these results, it is necessary to develop and apply education programs aimed at promoting work productivity for nursing manpower.
