  • In 21 century, we entered the multiculture society. Multi cultural society became a trend. It is known that 65.5 percents of Koreans find difficuty in using foreign languages. The need for intellignet and machine translation is increasing rapidly. This paper suggests a translation system which is mainly using in MICE industry. There are many applications provide translation, however, using multuple translayion appication is rare. We provide untact service which can import many application tools to provide a better service.

A Study of Financial Structure, Profitability, Growth and Financial Risk of Food Service Franchisor (외식산업프랜차이즈본사의 재무구조, 수익성, 성장성 및 재무위험에 관한 연구)

  • This study provides the information about size, financial structure, profitability and growth of franchisors using financial data(asset, liability, equity, sales volume, operating income and net income) in uniform franchise offering circular of fair trade commission. The data were collected from 1,050 franchisors in various business fields: fast food, family restaurant, bakery, agriculture & fishery and liquor shop in the uniform franchise offering circular in 2012 and 2011. Results of this study are as follows: For company size, median of total assets was KRW 675 million and the accumulated median assets rate was 0.48%, but the accumulated median company numbers were 49.9%, which showed small size. For financial structure, 525 companies were below 200% debt ratio, while 314 (29.9%) companies were in over 200% debt, and 211 (20.1%) companies were impaired in capital. These also showed financial structure was vulunerable. For profitability, median of ROA for total companies were only 4.72%, which showed low profitability. For growth, median of growth rate for sales were 7.57% per year, which showed mature industry. In overall, the results showed franchisors should improve their financial status.

The Influence of Work-Life Balance(WLB) Support Systerm on Employee Engagement - Focused on Moderating Effect of Perceived Organizational Support - (일과 삶의 균형(WLB) 지원제도가 종업원 인게이지먼트에 미치는 영향 - 조직지원인식 조절효과를 중심으로 -)

  • The objective of this study is to understand the influence of Work-Life Balance (WLB) support system on employee engagement (organizational commitment and job commitment) and to examine the moderating effect of perceived organizational support (instrumental and emotional) on the relationship between WLB and employee engagement. To test the research model and hypotheses, this study analyzed 537 responses from employees of sample companies that were carrying out the WLB support system during the period of December 1 through 31, 2014, and the results of the analysis are as follows: First, the correlation between employee engagement (organizational commitment) and the WLB support system showed that the influence of WLB support system on employee engagement(organizational commitment) was greater in the order of growth, job, and family support system. Second, the correlation between WLB support system and employee engagement(job involvement) showed that growth and job support system had significant relationship. Third, in the relationship between WLB support system and employe engagement(organizational commitment), there was no moderating effect of perceived organizational support. Fourth, in the relationship between the WLB support system and employee engagement(the job involvement), both institutional and emotional supports factors of the perceived organizational support had moderating effects in the relationship between growth support system and employee engagement(job involvement). This study has academic significance in that it is an empirical study examining the relationship between the WLB support system and employee engagement, which has not actively investigaged in Korea.

Consumer Characteristics Relating to Business Jacket Practices -Focus on Working Women in the U.S.- (미국 직장여성들의 비지니스 쟈켓 착용과 관련된 소비자 특성 분석)

  • IIn the United States, professional dress codes for working women have changed over time since the 1970s. Considering the changes, from conservative and traditional business uniforms in the 1970s, business casual in the late 1980s through 1990s, and the current revival of tailored business suits, this study investigated working women's business jacket practices and their association with personal, psycho-social, and physical characteristics. Working women's job satisfaction and corporate culture were also examined in relation to business jacket practices. Research data were collected by implementing mail surveys to 1,500 randomly selected working women in the United States. Of the 1,500 distributed questionnaires, a total of 312 were returned, of which 265 were deemed usable, yielding a 20.8% response rate. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, such as frequency, percentage distribution, mean scores, standard deviations, and Canonical Correlation were tabulated. The respondents ranged in age from 22 to 65. The mean age of the respondents was 44 years(SD=9.63). Most respondents were married(77.4%), working full-time(81.4%), career-oriented (77.2%), Caucasian(89.8%), had at least one child(78.9%), and had a professional job(75.9%). Working women's age, number of children, self-confidence in dressing, perceived importance of clothing, body frame size, and visibility to superiors and public were positively associated with business jacket practices, while age of first child, family size, dress size, and job satisfaction were negatively associated with business jacket practices.

  • Comics and cartoons of superheroes in the West have adopted various semiotic systems and other art-forms, including their politico-socio-economic condition, and made parody of other popular texts, as well. Based on the idea of the development of superhero genre, this article focuses on how East Asian popular texts appropriate and reconstruct the genre, which was once considered the realization of American idea, by analyzing a series of TV animation (Japan, Sunrise,2011). Through the feature of parody with intertextuality, provides East Asian value and sensibility of characters as corporation-centered modern humans in capitalist society. This animation has similarity and difference, compared to that of Western superhero cartoons. It satires Western capitalist society and emphasizes Eastern family-oriented value. The performances of superheroes on TV represent the satire on Western style individualism and estimation through each one's achievement. It metaphorically criticizes the situation in which modern human falls into dependency on capital and media, and the capitalistic system in which public good is used for the method of private profit. emphasizes East Asian value of human and society, the cooperative relation for the success and maintenance of community by combining members of state and society through familial sensibility. Tiger functions as a spiritual leader in the group of superheroes who have been obsessed with competition for their own private purpose rather than public cause, Bunny and other colleagues are gradually influenced by Tiger's familial communicative style. emphasizes community-centered view and self-sacrificing sensibility as an international citizen to solve social pathology of modern world.

Relationship between Job Stress, Social Support and Subjective Well-being among Private Security Guard (시큐리티 요원의 직무스트레스와 사회적 지지 및 주관적 안녕감의 관계)

  • This study is to test the relationship between job stress, social support and subjective well-being among security guard. 420 members of private security companies in Seoul were selected. Total 356 copies were picked up as the final sample. In conclusion, First, job stress among the private security guard have an effect on the social support. In other words, even though their role and personal relationship put them under a lot of stress, social support is high. while the more stress of duty they have, the lower social support is. Second, job stress among the private security guard have an effect on the subjective well-being. That is to say, the more stress of duty they have, the lower subjective well-being is. Third, social support has an effect on the subjective well~being. Namely, the more social support by neighbor and family is, the higher subjective well-being is. Forth, job stress has a direct or indirect effects social support and subjective well-being in meal or in malt.

Forms of Governance and Firm Value in the Korean Logistics Industry (물류기업의 지배구조가 기업가치에 미치는 영향)

  • This paper investigates whether managerial ownership and foreign ownership have impacts on firm value, using a sample of logistics firms listed on the Korea Stock Exchange between 2008 and 2014. In the Korean economy, family-controlled business groups, known as chaebol, constitute a unique governance system. To acquire investments from controlling shareholders, a logistics firm is likely to be included in family-controlled business groups. Since reform of the governance structure of logistics firms in the South Korea enables shareholder value to be maximized, we analyzed ownership effects on firm value using pooled ordinary least squares. Empirical results showed that there was a significant positive relation between managerial ownership and firm value. This study also found that there was a significant positive relation between foreign ownership and firm value. We thus show that both managerial ownership and foreign ownership can protect shareholders by positively affecting firm values.

The factors of insurance solicitor's turnovers of life insurance using Poisson regression (포아송회귀 모형을 활용한 생명보험 설계사들의 이직 요인 분석)

  • This study investigates factors affecting the number of insurance solicitor's turnovers of life insurance companies based on questionnaire about them. Since the response variable which is the number of insurance solicitor's turnovers is count data, it is analyzed by Poisson regression which is one of generalized regression. When work year in current company, which is direct influential factor on the number of insurance solicitor's turnovers, is controlled, affiliated corporation has been found to be the most influential factor. In addition, age, motivation to work as financial planner, monthly income, a number of average new contract per month, and final education have been identified to be important factors. If insurance solicitor's occupant organization is large company, the number of turnovers becomes small, but if the organization is general agent(GA), it becomes larger. When insurance solicitor's age is high, the number of insurance solicitor's turnovers are reduced. If the motivation to become a financial planner is due to acquaintance such as family and relatives, the number of turnovers becomes small.

Korean Consumers' Awareness of Cultured Meat and Influencing Factors by Gender (성별에 따른 배양육 인지도 및 영향 요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine Korean consumers' awareness of Cultured Meat(CM) and influencing factors by gender. On-line survey was conducted from June 9 till June 15, 2021. Analyses of 1,008 respondents whose ages were 20 or older resulted in three points. First, Korean consumers' awareness of CM were lower than the medium in the scale of 1-5, and men reported higher level of awareness than women. Second, the awareness of CM differed by socio-demographic characteristics of participants. The younger, the higher educated, and the students showed higher level of awareness of CM. Third, influencing factors on the awareness of CM differed by gender. In total, gender, age, job, health concern, environmental concern, perceptions of Traditional Meat(TM), and early adopter tendency were significantly associated with the awareness of CM. Among men, age, job, health concern, and early adopter tendency were significant influencing factors on the awareness of CM, where as age, education, health concern, environmental concern, perceptions of TM, and early adopter tendency were so among women. The study results may be used as basic data for developing policies for CM research and consumers.

  • Although poultry industry in Japan has been much developed in recent years, it still needs to be developed , compared with developed countries. Since the poultry market in Korea is expected to be opened in the near future it is necessary to maximize the Productivity to reduce the production costs and to develop the scientific, technologies and management organization systems for the improvement of the quality in poultry production. Followings ale the summary of poultry industry in Japan. 1. Poultry industry in Japan is almost specized and commercialized and its management system is : integrated, cooperative and developed to industrialized intensive style. Therefore, they have competitive power in the international poultry markets. 2. Average egg weight is 48-50g per day (Max. 54g) and feed requirement is 2. 1-2. 3. 3. The management organization system is specialized and farmers in small scale form complex and farmers in large scale are integrated.
