The Korean peninsula has been known as an area that is free of volcanic disasters. However, recent observations and research results of volcanoes in Far East Asia, including Baedu Mountain and Japanese volcanoes, show that the Korean peninsula is no longer a safe area from volcanic disasters. Since 2012, the Korean government has been developing an IT-based construction technology, VDRS (Volcanic Disaster Response System), for effective volcanic disaster response system. The main users of VDRS are public officers in central or local governments. However, most of them have little experience and knowledge about volcanic disasters. Therefore, it is essential to develop education contents and implement training on volcanic disaster response for effective response in a real disaster situation. In this paper, we deal with the development of a mobile application based on virtual reality (VR) for realistic volcanic disaster response training. The objectives of training are the delivery of knowledge and experience for volcanic disasters. First, VR contents were generated based on spatial information. A 3D model was constructed based on a Digital Elevation Model (DEM), and visualization models for meterological effects and various volcanic disaster diffusion effects were implemented for the VR contents. Second, the mobile application for the volcanic disaster response training was implemented. A 12-step story board is proposed for volcanic disaster experience. The application was developed with the Unity3D engine based on the proposed story board to deliver knowledge of various volcanic disasters (volcanic ash, pyroclastic flows, volcanic mudflow etc.). The results of this paper will be used for volcanic disaster response and prevention training and for more realistic training linked with augmented reality technology in the future.
As contents go digital and networks go broadband, there are a lot of changes made to Ad market caused by multimedia and multichannel environment. While platforms as the contents distribution window are increasing, the reality is that additional Ad revenue through platforms is concentrated on mammoth exclusive media because there are small number of the media that has control over platforms is able to create production and provide capital. In addition, as Media rep laws is passed at the Assembly plenary session, tipping effect in Ad market concentrated to some media. In this reality, pay TV market is expected to be within its direct orbit as it is predicted to produce new contents and distribution growth thanks to a wide variety of genres and experimental challenge. Thus, this study is to propose the methodology and an alternative for pay Ad market expansion. As the result of this research, an improvement scheme of indirect advertisement, virtual advertisement, and prohibited advertising item is suggested, and methodology for advertising market expansion is suggested through enterprise and government.
The performance test methodology for switch, router or integrated networks that make up the wired network is not clearly defined. Due to smart phones and multimedia traffic, the speed of the network is rapidly increasing to 100Gbps. However, there is no formalized test method, and performance test related parts are still being tested based on old data. Telecommunication companies and companies are testing their requirements in their own BMT, and government or public institutions are requesting performance tests from external organizations. As the demand for the performance test of next generation network equipments and the integrated network increases, analysis of the performance test method should be done as soon as possible. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the performance test method performed by the institute and propose guidelines that can be applied to all wired network equipment.
Attacking computer systems using ransomware is very common all over the world. Since antivirus and detection methods are constantly improved in order to detect and mitigate ransomware, the ransomware itself becomes equally better to avoid detection. Several new methods are implemented and tested in order to optimize the protection against ransomware. In our work, 582 of ransomware and 942 of normalware sample data along with 30,967 dynamic action sequence variables are used to detect ransomware efficiently. Several variable selection techniques combined with various machine learning based classification techniques are tried to protect systems from ransomwares. Among various combinations, chi-square variable selection and random forest gives the best detection rates and accuracy.
Based on the 'Government 3.0', the government opens the public data and encourages the active use in the private sector. Recently, the spatial and statistical information that is one of the public data is being widely used in the various web business as a high value-added information. In this study, we propose an architecture of high-availability, high-reliability and high-performance open platform which can provide a variety of services such as searching, analysis, data mining, and thematic mapping. In particular, we present two different system architectures for the government and the public services, by reflecting the importance of the information security and the respective utilization in the private and public sectors. We also compared a variety of server architecture configurations such as a clustered server configuration, a cloud-based virtual server configuration, and a CDN server configuration, in order to design a cost- and performance-effective spatial-statistical information open platform.
Preserving the integrity of the booting process is important. Recent rootkit attacks and subverting OS attacks prove that any post-OS security mechanism can be easily circumvented if the booting process is not properly controlled. Using an actual case as an example, the hacker of the Se-jong government office simply bypassed the user's password authentication by compromising the normal booting process. This paper analyzes existing pre-OS protection using secure boot and measured boot, and proposes another bootloader that overcomes the limitations. The proposed bootloader not only guarantees the integrity of all the pre-OS binaries, bootloaders, and kernel, it also makes explicit records of integrity in the booting process to the external TPM device, so that we can track modifications of BIOS configurations or unintended booting process modifications.

The variable message sign(VMS) is a representative traffic information service medium which has the largest users and is provided and operated by a governmental agency. In this paper, we focused on psychological responses of individuals who use VMS traffic information in the light of the need for VMS to provide user-oriented service. A total of t재 scenarios were plotted to conduct our experiment on a virtual test track. A stress index analysis on VMS location, the first scenario, showed the lowest stress value at the point of 1.5 kilometers before the exit. A stress index analysis on the contents of VMS information (communication, time, and speed), the second scenario, showed the lowest stress value at time information.

Our society is currently exposed to environment of various information that is exchanged real time through networks. Especially regarding medical policy, the government rushes to practice remote medical treatment to improve the quality of medical services for citizens. The remote medical practice requires establishment of medical information based on big data for customized treatment regardless of where patients are. This study suggests establishment of regional medical cluster along with defense and protection cooperation models that in case service availability is harmed, and attacks occur, the attacks can be detected, and proper measures can be taken. For this, the study suggested forming networks with nationwide local government hospitals as regional virtual medical cluster bases by the same medical information system. The study also designed a mutual cooperation security model that can real time cope with IP Spoofing attack that can occur in the medical cluster and DDoS attacks accordingly, so that the limit that sole system and sole security policy have can be overcome.

Medical implant devices are one of the targets of the US's Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for tracking in case of a serious adverse event since they are directly connected to the lives of patients. The US law stipulates that the public health agency shall order implantable device makers to track their product down to the patient level if a serious adverse event has occurred or defects have been discovered; in reality, however, the agency can pass on the responsibility for tracking or recalling faulty devices to the manufacturers or use mass media. This article proposes an efficient tracking and recall management system and examines four main virtual scenarios based on such. This research seeks to suggest a system that enables FDA to perform accurate and prompt tracking and recall management for patients' enhanced safety.
