A Socioeconomic History of Korean Newsprint Paper Focusing on General Dynamics of the Market (한국 신문용지의 사회경제사 시장의 역학을 중심으로)

  • This paper deals with historical changes in the market of Korean newsprint paper since 1945. Particularly, this paper does not examine only the structure of supply and demand in the newsprint paper market, but also general dynamics of the market from a perspective of Harold Innis's socioeconomic history. As a result, this paper concludes that the general dynamics of Korean newsprint paper market has persistently responded to a stimulus from external markets due to a scarcity of natural resources. To more concretely put it, until 1967 when the newsprint paper market was opened, Korean government had tried to control both newspaper industries and paper manufacture businesses by the matters of price and distribution of the newsprint paper. But since the market was opened, a general dynamics of the Korean newsprint paper market has been vulnerable to uncoordinated properties of external markets. Consequently, even though 'self-sufficiency' of newsprint papers was achieved in 1974, the price of newsprint papers has been often rising and falling.

The impacts of high speed train on the regional economy of Korea (고속철도(KTX) 개통이 지역경제에 미치는 영향 분석과 시사점)

  • High-speed railway (Korea Train Express) has had a deep impact on the regional economy of Korea. Current high-speed rail research is mostly theoretical, there is a lack of quantitative research using a precise algorithm to study the effect of high-speed railway on the regional economy. This paper analyses the influence of high-speed rail on the regional economy, with a focus on the Daegu area. Quantitative analysis using department store indexes and regional medical records is performed to calculate the economic influence of high-speed rail. The result shows that high-speed railway effects the regional economy though regional consumption growth and medical care trends.

A Study on the Determinants of Fans' Team Identification in KBO League : Focused on the Effects of Kids Marketing (프로야구 팬의 팀 동일시에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구: 응원시작 연령의 효과를 중심으로)

  • This study examined the factors affecting the team identification of professional baseball fans. The factors were divided into the fan factor, game factors, and other factors. For the analysis, two investigators visited stadium three times in total and a total number of 297 spectators were sampled using a convenience sampling method from three baseball teams. For the fan factor, a fan who began supporting his/her team from childhood or after childhood was used as a dummy variable. The interaction effects between the fan factor and other variables were investigated to offer a stereoscopic understanding about the role of kids marketing. In addition, three game factors and four non-game factors were analyzed. The results regarding fan variable and interaction effects were obtained. Fans from their childhood have much stronger team identification, and show interaction effects with the players. Regression analysis revealed player, promotion and fan service, price, and regional connection to have positive relations with team identification. This study is especially meaningful in a sense that it has proposed positive results regarding marketing to children, and the results will contribute to both the academic field and the industry.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of commuter's departure time on transportation system in future traffic system operated autonomous vehicle using agent based model. Various scenarios have been set up, such as when all passenger choose a similar departure time, or if the passenger chooses a different departure time. Also, this study tried to analyze the effect of road capacity. It was found that although many of the scenarios had been completed in a stable manner, many commuters were significantly coordinated at the desired departure time. In particular, in the case of a reduction in road capacity or in certain scenarios, it has been shown that, despite excessive schedule adjustments, many passengers are unable to commute before 9 o'clock. As a result, it is suggested that traffic management and pricing policies are different from current ones in the era of autonomous car operation.

  • Impact of Korea train express (KTX) on the regional economy in Korea has been studied by many researchers. Current research is limited in the lack of quantitative research using a statistical model to study the effect of KTX on regional economy. This paper analyses the influence of KTX to the household final consumption expenditure, which is one of important regional economic index, using spatial panel regression model. The spatial structure is introduced through spatial autocorrelation matrix using adjacency of KTX connection. The result shows a significant effect of Korea train express on the regional economy.

Preparation of Silver Nanoparticles Using AgNO3 Precursor as Carrier for Olefin/Paraffin Separation and the Effect Analysis of NO3- (올레핀/파라핀 분리용 운반체로서 AgNO3 전구체를 활용한 은 나노입자 제조 및 NO3-의 효과 분석)

  • In previous studies, a poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)/Ag nanoparicles (AgNPs)(precursor $AgBF_4$)/p-benzoquinone (p-BQ) composite membrane was prepared for olefin/paraffin separation and the performance of this composite membrane was maintained at a selectivity of 10 and a permeability of 15 GPU. However, since the price of $AgBF_4$ precursor is high, this study used $AgNO_3$ as a precursor of Ag nanoparticles which is competitive in terms of price. As a result, it was observed that the separation performance was not obtained because the existing $NO_3{^-}$ could surround AgNPs. In this study, we fabricated PEO, poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA), and polyether block amide-1657 (PEBAX-1657) polymer composite membrane using electron acceptor 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) for separation performance even when $AgNO_3$ was used as a precursor of Ag nanoparticles. As a result, it was analyzed that the performance was not observed regardless of the influence of the polymer and the electron acceptor, indicating that the anion of the precursor plays a crucial role in the separation performance.

HW/SW Partitioning Techniques for Multi-Mode Multi-Task Embedded Applications (멀티모드 멀티태스크 임베디드 어플리케이션을 위한 HW/SW 분할 기법)

  • An embedded system is called a multi-mode embedded system if it performs multiple applications by dynamically reconfiguring the system functionality. Further, the embedded system is called a multi-mode multi-task embedded system if it additionally supports multiple tasks to be executed in a mode. In this Paper, we address a HW/SW partitioning problem, that is, HW/SW partitioning of multi-mode multi-task embedded applications with timing constraints of tasks. The objective of the optimization problem is to find a minimal total system cost of allocation/mapping of processing resources to functional modules in tasks together with a schedule that satisfies the timing constraints. The key success of solving the problem is closely related to the degree of the amount of utilization of the potential parallelism among the executions of modules. However, due to an inherently excessively large search space of the parallelism, and to make the task of schedulabilty analysis easy, the prior HW/SW partitioning methods have not been able to fully exploit the potential parallel execution of modules. To overcome the limitation, we propose a set of comprehensive HW/SW partitioning techniques which solve the three subproblems of the partitioning problem simultaneously: (1) allocation of processing resources, (2) mapping the processing resources to the modules in tasks, and (3) determining an execution schedule of modules. Specifically, based on a precise measurement on the parallel execution and schedulability of modules, we develop a stepwise refinement partitioning technique for single-mode multi-task applications. The proposed techniques is then extended to solve the HW/SW partitioning problem of multi-mode multi-task applications. From experiments with a set of real-life applications, it is shown that the proposed techniques are able to reduce the implementation cost by 19.0% and 17.0% for single- and multi-mode multi-task applications over that by the conventional method, respectively.

  • Recently, there is a growing body of literature that suggests that information inefficiency is one of the causes of the asymmetric volatility. If this explanation for the asymmetric volatility is appropriate, then innovations, such as the introduction of futures, may be expected to impact the asymmetric volatility of stock market. As transaction costs and margin requirements in the futures market are lower than those in the spot market, new information is transmitted to futures prices more quickly and affects spot prices through arbitrage trading with spots. Also, the merit of the futures market may attract noise traders away from the spot market to the futures market. This study examines the impact of futures on the asymmetry of stock market volatility. If the asymmetric volatility is significant lower post-futures and exist in the futures market, it has validity that the asymmetric volatility is caused by information inefficiency in the spot market. The data examined are daily logarithmic returns on KOSPI 200 stock price index from January 4, 1993 to December 26, 2000. To examine the existence of the asymmetric volatility in the futures market, logarithmic returns on KOSPI 200 futures are used from May 4, 1996 to December 26, 2000. We used a conditional mode of TGARCH(threshold GARCH) of Glosten, Jagannathan and Runkel(1993). Pre-futures the spot market exhibits significant asymmetric responses of volatility to news and post-futures asymmetries are significantly lower, irrespective of bear market and bull market. The results suggest that the introduction of stock index futures has an effect on the asymmetric volatility of the spot market and are inconsistent with leverage being the sole explanation of asymmetry. However, it is found that the volatility of futures is not so asymmetric as expected.

  • 마그네슘이 자동차 경량화에 관심이 되는 이유는 근본적으로 CAFE 규제와 같이 경량화를 통한 화석연료의 소모를 크게 억제해야 한다는 사회적인 규제이나, 지난 10여년간의 기술발전으로 내식성이 나쁘다거나 취급이 위험한 금속이라는 인식이 크게 개선된 데에도 있다. 다른 경량금속에 대한 Mg 지금 가격의 비교조건이 호전되었고 향후 원소 재공급의 다변화가 추진되고 있는 것도 환경을 변화시킨 중요한 요인이다. 그간 중요한 경량화 대체 재료로 연구투자가 많았던 유기고분자 재료 및 FRP 등과 같은 복합재료는 폐기부품의 재활용이 어려움 때문에 호나경친화적인 단점이 부각되어, 이 소재의 증가가 주춤해 있다. 마그네슘의 경우에는 재활용이 가능하고, 진동흡수효과가 매우 커서 소음발생을 크게 줄일 뿐만 아니라, 주행 및 내구성시험에서 치수안정성이 좋고 많은 종류의 전자기기 사용에 의한 전자파 차폐효과도 큰 장점을 가지고 있다. 본 고에서는 Mg 다이캐스팅으로 자동차부품의 경량화 현황과 선진국에서 보는 전망을 미국을 중심으로 정리하고, 이와 관련한 Mg 다이캐스팅으로 자동차부품의 경량화 현황과 선진국에서 보는 전망을 미국을 중심으로 정리하고, 이와 관련한 Mg 기술적인 이슈와 시장전망도 서술하였다. 그리고 현재 우리나라의 연구계와 부품업계에서 추진하고 있는 연구개발 동향을 자동차 업계에 소개하는 의미도 있다. 이처럼 우리나라의 현황을 정리해 보는 것은 국내 자동차 산업이 국제적인 경쟁을 하고 있고 Mg기술과 원료확보에서 일본의 견제를 받고 있는 우리의 현실에서도 필요한 작업으로 생각된다.값들로 구성되는 형상을 내구 성능, 성형성등을 고려하여 최종 형상으로 결정한다. 내구성능의 예측은 금속부품의 내구수명 예측에 널리 이용되고 있는 방법이 방진 고무부품의 경우에도 적용 가능한지를 검토하고, 방진 고무부품에도 일반적으로 적용될수 있는 내구수명 예측방안의 개발 가능성을 타진해 보았다. 본 연구의 목표는 시제품을 제작하기 이전에 설계된 부품에 대한 스프링 상수 및 내구특성을 체계적으로 규명하여 제품 시험의 횟수를 줄이고, 보다 정밀한 제품을 제작할 수 있도록 하기 위한 것이다.세포수는 초기 배반포기배에서 팽윤 배반포기배로 진행됨에 따라 두배에서 세배 정도 증가되었음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, differential labelling과 bisbenzimide기법에서 얻어진 각각의 총세포수를 비교하였을 때 총세포수는 발달의 진행 정도에 따라 증가되며 그와 동시에 동일한 군 간의 세포수도 거의 유사함을 알 수 있었다. 따라서, ICM과 TE를 differential labelling하는 기법은 수정란의 quality를 평가하는데 매우 유용한 기법으로서 착상전 embryo 발달을 연구하는데 효과적으로 이용될 수 있다는 것을 시사한다. 고도의 유의차를 나타낸 반면 비수구, 초생수로구 및 Bromegrass 목초구 간에는 아무런 유의차가 인정되지 않았다. 7. 농지보전 처리구인 배수구와 초생수로구는 비처리구에 비해 낮은 침두 유출량과 낮은 토양유실량을 나타내었다.구보다 14% 절감되는 것으로 나타났다.작용하는 것으로 사료된다.된다.정량 분석한 결과이다. 시편의 조성은 33.6 at%

The Effect of Value-added Promotion and Retailer Uncertainty on Customers' Perceived Value of the Product (부가가치 제공 유형별 판매촉진과 유통업체 불확실성이 제품 가치 평가에 미치는 영향 - 사은품(Freebie) 제공 판매촉진을 중심으로 -)

  • The sales promotion strategy can be classified into two categories: cost-down and value-added promotions. Although many studies have been performed on sales promotion in the past, little attention has been given on cost-down promotion, and in particular on its strategy. Also there has been a renewed interest on value-added promotion strategy as means of attracting more customers and delivering value by providing a greater benefit. This study examines the effect of value-added promotion on the evaluation of promotional products. The topic is important because the value-added promotions are not always perceived as a benefit by consumers and they depend on the situational factors. We postulate three hypotheses on the basis of related literature. We conduct two studies: one employing experiment (study 1) and the other, quasi-experiment (study 2) to investigate the effect of two situational factors, namely the promotional package type and retailer uncertainty on the valuation of promotional products. Study 1 employs 2 promotional package types (bundled with freebie type vs. one-plus-one type) by 3 evaluation targets (overall package, a focal product and freebie) in experimental design. Also it is found that consumers devaluate the promotional product when the level of retailer uncertainty is high (t=-4.70, p=.000) as shown in Table 2. As depicted in Figure 2, the interaction effect of retailer uncertainty and package types on the evaluation of promotional product as a whole does not appear to be significant. However, when the level of retailer uncertainty is high, the focal product suffers from lower valuation if it is included in a bundle with freebie type package. The purpose of Study 2 is to cross-check the results of Study 1. The results of Study 2 also show that the consumers devaluate the promotional products as a whole when the level of retailer uncertainty is high. Furthermore, Study2 examines the consumers' willingness to purchase. The willingness to purchase of 2 different consumer groups divided by their reservation prices before and after exposure to a promotional stimuli shows no significant differences(t=1.911, p=.057). The results suggest that the consumers' reservation prices before the exposure to the promotion can be a reference prices of their's. But after the promotional events, the promotional price would become their reference prices. Furthermore, when the level of retailer uncertainty is high, consumers devaluate the promotional product as a whole. Because the promotional offerings activate the persuasion knowledge of consumers and make them incorporate negative inference about the firm's motives into their valuation and consequently, consumers tend to hesitate to purchase.
