Web based PBL Teaching·Learning Development Model for Medical Education (의료정보 교육을 위한 웹기반 PBL 교수·학습 콘텐츠 개발 모형)

  • Recent changes in medical environment are based on technology such as internet. As most hospitals require the change and the adaptation of medical, medical information experts are more needed. In this study, we developed web based PBL model and applied it to the students majoring in medical information system. The developed web-PBL model focuses on learner's online learning activities to enhance collaborative learning and self-directed learning by using online learning tools. At the result of the research, We found that the students' course evaluation somewhat increased compared to the previous class and the students positively perceived on PBL model. Moreover, this study showed that using blog as a online learning tool was a good way to enhance cooperative learning.

Effects of Nurses' Teamwork on Job Satisfaction at Hospital: Mediating Effect of Self-efficacy (간호사의 팀워크가 직무만족에 미치는 영향: 자기효능감의 매개효과)

  • This study aimed at (a) examining the effects of teamwork, demonstrating with other nurses at a care unit on nurses' job satisfaction and self-efficacy, and (b) identifying if there is the mediating effect of self-efficacy on the relationship between teamwork and job satisfaction at a hospital. A descriptive study was conducted with a sample of 304 nurses, who were caring for patients with more than one nurse at a university hospital located in Southern area of Korea. The degree of teamwork demonstraing by registered nurses was 3.78(${\pm}0.59$) in the range from 1 to 5. Teamwork at caring units affected significantly nurses' job satisfaction(F=58.26, p<.001), and explained 42.80% in the variance of job satisfaction. The degree of self-efficacy that nurses perceived played as a mediator on the relationship between teamwork and job satisfaction at significant level(Z=5.25, p<.001).

Recognition of Skin Infection and Infection Management Practice on Caregivers in Geriatric Hospital (노인요양병원 요양보호사의 피부감염에 대한 인식 및 감염관리 수행)

  • Purpose: This study was to investigate the recognition of skin infection (RSI) and management practice (MP) on caregivers in geriatric hospital. Methods: The subjects were 209 caregivers who work at geriatric hospital in G city and J do. Data were analyzed with ${\chi}^2$-test, t-test. and ANOVA using SPSS 18.0 program. Results: Prevalence rate of caregivers' skin diseases was 76.6%. Diagnosis of Skin disease was contact dermatitis 42.5%, scabies 26.9%, and skin xerosis 25.0%. The Mean RSI score was 3.81 and MP was 4.12. In addition, MP was significantly different by number of bed hospitals (F=4.63, p=.011) and number of caring patients (F=2.67, p=.049). Conclusion: This study will be a useful on continuing education for caregivers and basis for the guidance of medical infection control standards development.

Problem Solving Ability and Social Anxiety in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 문제해결능력과 사회불안)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the factors affecting the social anxiety in nursing students. A total of 227 nursing students participated in the study. Data were analyzed by frequencies, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple stepwise regression with SPSS WIN 18.0. The mean scores for problem solving ability and social anxiety were at the intermediate level. Problem solving ability negatively correlated with social anxiety. The significant predictors of social anxiety included cognitive reaction within the seven problem solving ability subscales and perceived interpersonal relationship. The regression model explained 22.6% of social anxiety. As a result, to decrease social anxiety in nursing students, nursing educators should develop educational intervention programs to change cognitive distortions presented in unfamiliar social situations and improve interpersonal relationships ability.

The Influences between New Nurses' Nursing Performance, Emotional Intelligence, Self-resiliency and Core Self-evaluation (신입간호사의 정서지능, 자아탄력성, 핵심자기평가가 간호업무수행에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is a descriptive research of investigating the correlation between new nurses' nursing performance, emotional intelligence, self-resiliency and core self-evaluation. The subjects were 114 new nurses working for less than 12 months at two different hospitals with over 800 beds located in Gyeonggi-do. Between July and November, this study collected the data measured by using a structured questionnaire survey for nursing performance, emotional intelligence, self-resiliency and core self-evaluation. As a result, it was found that there was a difference in the degree of nursing performance according to new nurses' education level, job satisfaction, and working position task satisfaction, and that the higher the emotional intelligence, self-resiliency and core self-evaluation were, the better the nursing performance was. As for emotional intelligence, education level, core self-evaluation and job satisfaction, it was found that they were variables to well predict the degree of nursing performance, and explained 33% of variance in nursing performance. Accordingly, it is necessary to provide actual field-adaptive training education including emotional intelligence and core self-evaluation other than nursing performance from new nurses' orientation in consideration of education degree and job satisfaction.

Appearance Satisfaction and School Adjustment in Nursing Students: Mediating Effect of Self-esteem and Moderating Effect of Gender (간호대학생의 외모만족과 학교생활적응: 자아존중감의 매개효과와 성별의 조절효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between appearance satisfaction and school adjustment of nursing students. The role of self-esteem and gender in the relationship between appearance satisfaction and school adjustment were also examined. A descriptive correlational design was adopted and the convenience sample consisted of 188 undergraduate nursing students in D city. It was found that appearance satisfaction affected directly and indirectly through self-esteem on school adjustment. The results indicated that self-esteem had partial mediation effects in the relationship between appearance satisfaction and school adjustment. Moderation effect of gender was found only in the relationship between appearance satisfaction and self-esteem. This meant that women were affected more than men according to the level of appearance satisfaction. The results suggested that the intervention program to support nursing students to accept themselves more positively and to enhance their self-esteem will be effective to help nursing students adjust themselves more to school life. It was also indicated in this study that specialized intervention programs are needed for women.

Effects of Positive Psychological Capital and Academic Self-efficacy on Academic Stress in Adolescents (청소년의 긍정심리자본, 학업적 자기효능감이 학업스트레스에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine relationships among positive psychological capital and academic self-efficacy on academic stress and identify the factors that influence on academic stress in the adolescents. The data were collected from 140 adolescents in the two middle school located J city using self-reported questionnaires and May 9 2017 to May 19 2017. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, T-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression with SPSS 20.0 program. The result of the multiple regression indicates the positive psychological capital, academic self-efficacy and grade predict 27.1%(F=7.68, P<.001) of academic stress. Therefore, In order to prevent and decrease the academic stress, the developing programs to improve positive psychological capital and academic self-efficacy are needed.Therefore, it is necessary to develop positive psychological capital and academic self-efficacy strategy program for decrease academic stress in adolescents.

Influence of Emotional Labor on Job Involvement, Job Satisfaction, and Turnover Intention of Clinical Nurses (종합병원 간호사의 감정노동이 직무몰입, 직무만족 및 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated the emotional labor factors influencing job involvement, job satisfaction and turnover intention of clinical nurses. Study subjects were 258 nurses at a hospital in B city. The data was collected from October 11, to November 30, 2013. The data was analyzed using the SPSS win 21.0 program. The mean scores were 3.47 for emotional labor, 2.94 for job involvement, 2.88 for job satisfaction, and 3.49 for turnover intention. Emotional labor was negatively correlated with job involvement and job satisfaction, but positively correlated with the turnover intention. Multiple regression analysis showed that the participant characteristics after controlling for emotional labor had 33.9% of the explanatory power on job involvement 16% on job satisfaction, and 19.8% on the turnover intention. The results indicate that the emotional labor of nurses influences their job involvement, job satisfaction and turnover intention Therefore, it is necessary to concentrate on improving the emotional labor of nurses to increase their job involvement and job satisfaction.

Study of University Students' Perception and Attitude towards the Disabled (대학생의 장애인에 대한 인식과 태도)

  • The purpose of this study was to survey the perceptions and attitudes of university students towards the disabled. The subject's were 794 students from "D" University. The collected data was analyzed using a t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheff$\acute{e}$ Test. For the disabled daily life and care-givers, many students considered that the disabled needed to be cared for by the government or public organizations. The students also considered that there would be no adverse effects on education if there was a special school in their village. They collected information related to the disabled from mass communication. They came up with government support being the most effective way of improving the awareness of the disabled. The specific positive attitudes about the disabled were as follows: emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and interchange. The attitudes for the disabled people showed a difference according to gender and grade. The results of the study showed that the perception and attitudes can be established based on the information collected.

Status of Antepartum Depression and Its Influencing Factors in Pregnant Women (임신 여성의 산전우울 실태 및 영향요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the rate and influencing factors on antepartum depression in pregnant women. A self-administered questionnaire-based study was performed in 160 pregnant women who visited outpatient clinics or attended special lectures of the general hospital in D metropolitan city. All participants were interviewed using the Korean version of Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale(EPDS). The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. On the results, the mean score of antepartum depression was $7.80{\pm}4.86$ scores(0-30 scores). The percentage of all participants for EPDS scale were 56.3% with normal level, 20.6% with a boundary line and 23.1% with serious level. Influencing factors on antepartum depression were accounted for 36.7% of the total variance which consisted of perceived health status, pregnancy stress and self esteem. The results indicate that these variables should be considered in preventing depression of pregnant women.
