  • The purpose of this investigation was to examine whether early child-care experience, alone or in combination with mother/child factors, was associated with emotion regulation. Participants were forty 12-18 month-old infants, their mothers and their caregivers. Infants were observed in the Strange Situation to assess the pattern of emotion regulation. Mothers were interviewed, given Questionnaires, and observed in play. Caregivers were observed in child care to assess the caregiving environment. There were significant main effects of good quality child care on open emotion expression and heightening emotion expression. Significant interaction effects revealed that infants were more likely to be open emotion expression when high maternal sensitivity /responsiveness was combined with good quality child care, or nonmaterial care initiated prior to six month of age. Infants were more likely to be minimizing emotion expression when low maternal sensitivity/responsiveness was combined with nonmaternal care initiated after six month of age, or more than one care arrangement. Difficult temperament infants received nonrelative care were somewhat more likely to be minimizing emotion expression. Infants were more Likely to be heightening emotion expression when high maternal sensitivity/responsiveness was combined with relative care. Boys experiencing nonrelative care were more Likely to be heightening emotion expression.

Subjects were 57 3-to 5-year-old preschoolers, their mothers and 3 teachers in their classes. Data were adapted from the Social Intelligence part of Project Spectrum and analyzed by Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. Findings were that : (1) preschoolers' positive emotion regulation strategies significantly explained their social competence. (2) Older children showed higher social competence than younger children; the effect of children's age on social competence was more influential than emotional strategies or maternal attitudes. • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of mothers' parenting behavior, preschool children's language ability and emotion regulation on peer competence and aggressive behavior. The subjects were 100 preschool children (49 girls and 51 boys; mean age, 70.30 months), their mothers and teachers, recruited from five daycare centers located in Gyeonggi-do area. Each child's language ability was assessed individually with the standardized measure, the Preschool Receptive-Expressive Language Scale and their teachers reported on the children's peer competence and aggressive behavior. Their mothers also reported on parenting behavior and their child's emotion regulation by questionnaire. The collected data was analyzed by correlation analysis and hierarchical regression. The main results of this study were as follows. First, preschool children's peer competence was positively related to maternal warmth and children's language ability. Their aggressive behavior was positively related to harsh maternal parenting but negatively related to emotion regulation. Second, hierarchical regression analyses revealed that children's language ability and maternal warmth predicted peer competence. Third, children's gender, emotion regulation, and harsh maternal parenting predicted aggressive behavior. These findings could provide basic information for programs and services to promote peer competence in preschool children.

  • This study was to investigate the relationships between stress coping strategies, emotion regulation ability and behavior problems with children from low-income families and middle-income families. Subjects were 171 children from low-income families and 228 children from middle-income families, 4th - 6th grade in elementary school. The major findings are followings: (1) The level of emotion regulation ability in children from low-income families was lower and active stress coping strategies were less than children from middle-income families. In the behavior problem, children from low-income families were higher than children from middle-income families. (2) The stress coping strategies(active/ social support) in children from low-income families were related with internal behavior problem(anxiety /withdrawal). And the emotion regulation ability was related to the children's behavior problem. (3) Regression analysis model showed that emotion-regulation ability was the most influential factor to the children's behavior problem, and children from low-income families with aggressive coping strategy showed hyperactive behavior problem. So, the education/therapy programs for children from low-income families have to be developed and practiced in schools, local children centers and so on.

  • Purpose : This study investigated the effects of low-intensity muscle training on neurotransmitters associated with depression and emotion regulation disorders in survivors with stroke who were diagnosed with depression or emotion regulation disorder. Methods : Survivors of chronic stroke diagnosed with depression or emotion regulation disorder (n = ) were included in the study. Concentrations of serotonin, norepinephrine, and epinephrine were measured before and after. Low-intensity muscle training was performed once a day for 50 minutes, 5 times a week for 10 weeks. Result : Levels of serotonin, norepinephrine, and epinephrine improved significantly after intervention (p < .05). Conclusion : These results confirm that low-intensity muscle training has a positive effect on neurotransmitter concentrations in survivors with stroke diagnosed with depression and emotion regulation disorders. Future studies should analyze the changes in neurotransmitters in more detail using various exercise methods and intensities to investigate their effects on depression and emotion regulation disorders.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to measure the effect on the attributes for store selection and Korean government regulations for large retailers on consumption emotion. Research Design, Data, and Methodology - Using SPSS ver.22, factor analysis & Cronbach's alpha, correlation, and regression test were performed. The total of 287 questionnaires were used for the analysis Result - Familiarity, perceived price, and perceived image have a positive effect on consumption emotion, but perceived quality & service did not. The Consumption emotion had a positive effect on traditional market revisit intentions. Retail regulation preference has a mediate effect between consumption emotion and familiarity & perceived price. Retail regulation preference also has a mediate effect between consumption emotion and traditional market revisit intension. Conclusion - Relationship marketing with sincerity is very important to keep familiarity, perceived price and image. People's consumption trend was changed due to dual career couple and heavy traffic jam in big cities. Therefore, a retail regulation cannot be a right solution for revitalizing traditional markets. So we need to find out an actual situation and design a win-win strategy between large retailers and traditional market.
