지구온난화에 따른 상수리나무와 굴참나무의 생육반응에 관한 연구 (Effects of Elevated $CO_2$ Concentration and Temperature on Growth Response of Quercus acutissima and Q. variabilis)

  • 지구온난화는 자연생태계에 큰 변화를 가져오고, 식물의 생육에 큰 영향을 미친다. 상수리나무와 굴참나무는 분류학 적으로 가깝고, 우리나라 산림 저지대에서 우점종이다. 본 연구는 두 종의 어린 묘목이 $CO_2$농도와 기온이 증가하면 생육반응이 어떻게 일어나는지 알아보기 위해 $CO_2$농도는 700~800ppm으로, 기온은 대조구보다 약 $3^{\circ}C$높게 처리하여 생장특성을 측정하고 분석하였다. 상수리나무는 지구온난화처리구에서 뚜렷하게 차이나는 형질이 줄기 길이와 식물체 무게이고, 굴참나무는 줄기 직경과 줄기 무게이었다(p<0.05). 또한 평균 변화율로 보았을 때 굴참나무보다 상수리나무에서 많은 종류의 형질이 크게 변화하였다. 이는 지구온난화조건이 되면 한반도 중부지방에서 굴참나무보다 상수리나무의 생육반응이 더 민감하다는 것을 시사한다. 주성분분석은 두 종이 $CO_2$농도와 기온이 증가하면 종과 상관없이 유사한 경향성으로 배열되어 나타났다. 이러한 반응을 결정짓는 형질은 잎 수, 잎 넓이, 잎 폭, 지상부 길이, 잎 길이, 지상부 무게, 줄기 무게, 잎 무게, 지하부 무게와 식물체 무게 등 대부분의 측정된 것들과 관련이 있었다.

ASM3+Bio-P module을 이용한 기존 BNR공정 모사 (Modeling of Existing BNR Process using ASM3 and Modified Bio-P Module)

  • In Activated Sludge Model, COD fraction of primary settled municipal wastewater was a very important parameter. In this study, the COD fraction was determined using the oxygen utilization rate experiments. Readily biodegradable COD ($S_S$) fraction was observed about 29.7% of influent TCOD. $S_I$, $X_I$, and $X_S$ were analyzed to be 7.6%, 7.3%, and 55.4% of TCOD, respectively. The model used in this study was developed based on ASM3 and modified Bio-P module in order to simulate the existing BNR process. Parameter estimation results showed that $Y_{STO,O2}$, $Y_{STO,NO}$, $Y_{H,O2}$, $Y_{H,NO}$, $Y_{PO4}$, ${\mu}_H$, $b_H$, ${\mu}_A$, $q_{PHA}$, $q_{PP}$ and ${\mu}_{PAO}$ were 0.7, 0.64, 0.61, 0.48, 0.31, 3.9, 0.1, 1.35, 4.98, 1.8 and 0.59, respectively. Using the presented model and the estimated parameters, the simulation of the existing BNR process was successfully conducted.

QUALITATIVE PROPERTIES OF WEAK SOLUTIONS FOR p-LAPLACIAN EQUATIONS WITH NONLOCAL SOURCE AND GRADIENT ABSORPTION

  • We consider the following Dirichlet initial boundary value problem with a gradient absorption and a nonlocal source $$\frac{{\partial}u}{{\partial}t}-div({\mid}{\nabla}u{\mid}^{p-2}{\nabla}u)={\lambda}u^k{\displaystyle\smashmargin{2}{\int\nolimits_{\Omega}}}u^sdx-{\mu}u^l{\mid}{\nabla}u{\mid}^q$$ in a bounded domain Ω ⊂ ℝN, where p > 1, the parameters k, s, l, q, λ > 0 and µ ≥ 0. Firstly, we establish local existence for weak solutions; the aim of this part is to prove a crucial priori estimate on |∇u|. Then, we give appropriate conditions in order to have existence and uniqueness or nonexistence of a global solution in time. Finally, depending on the choices of the initial data, ranges of the coefficients and exponents and measure of the domain, we show that the non-negative global weak solution, when it exists, must extinct after a finite time.

회분식 오존 공정에서 페놀의 분해 속도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Decomposition Rate of Phenol in the Batch Type Ozonation)

  • The characteristics of the ozone treatments of phenol were studied in a laboratory scale wastewater treatment system. The ozone treatment of wastewater was carried out in a batch-type reactor. The initial pH of wastewater(7-10), volumetric flow rate(1-2l/min) and ozone concentration(20~30 mg/l) of aerating gas were considereal as experimental variables in the ozone treatment. Phenol was decomposed easily by the ozone in a batch treatment, where the rate determining step was the COD removal that is decomposition of intermediates formed by the ozonation of phenol. Phenol decomposition and COD removal could be expressed by the first order reaction for the phenol concentration and COD, respectively. Rate constants of phenol decomposition and COD removal increased with the initial pH, volumetric flow rate and ozone concentration of aeration gas. Under the present experimental condition, their relationships could be given by for the phenol decomposition $k'=4.46\times 10^{-9}[pH]_o ^{3.94}[O_3]^{1.42}Q_{O3}^{1.57}$ for the COD removal $k=2.46\times 10^{-10}[pH]_o ^{5.19}[O_3]^{1.15}Q_{O3}^{1.19}$

  • In this study, in order to develop multilayer piezo-actuator, PMN-PNN-PZT ceramics were fabricated using $Li_2CO_3,\;Na_2CO_3$, ZnO as sintering aids and their piezoelectric and dielectric properties were investigated according to the Bi substitution. Bi substitution enhanced electromechanical coupling factor$(k_p)$ and dielectric constant$({\varepsilon}_r)$. However, mechanical quality factor was deteriorated. At the sintering temperature of $870^{\circ}C$ and Bi substitution of 1mol%, density, electromechanical coupling factor$(k_p)$, mechanical quality factor$(Q_m)$, Dielectric constant$({\varepsilon}_r)$ and piezoelectric constant$(d_{33})$ of specimen showed the optimum value of $7.878g/cm^3$, 0.608, 835, 1603 and 397pC/N, respectively.

SIMPLE VALUATION IDEALS OF ORDER TWO IN 2-DIMENSIONAL REGULAR LOCAL RINGS

  • Let (R, m) be a 2-dimensional regular local ring with algebraically closed residue field R/m. Let K be the quotient field of R and v be a prime divisor of R, i.e., a valuation of K which is birationally dominating R and residually transcendental over R. Zariski showed that there are finitely many simple v-ideals $m=P_0\;{\supset}\;P_1\;{\supset}\;{\cdotS}\;{\supset}\;P_t=P$ and all the other v-ideals are uniquely factored into a product of those simple ones. It then was also shown by Lipman that the predecessor of the smallest simple v-ideal P is either simple (P is free) or the product of two simple v-ideals (P is satellite), that the sequence of v-ideals between the maximal ideal and the smallest simple v-ideal P is saturated, and that the v-value of the maximal ideal is the m-adic order of P. Let m = (x, y) and denote the v-value difference |v(x) - v(y)| by $n_v$. In this paper, if the m-adic order of P is 2, we show that $O(P_i)\;=\;1\;for\;1\;{\leq}\;i\; {\leq}\;{\lceil}\;{\frac{b+1}{2}}{\rceil}\;and\;O(P_i)\;=2\;for\;{\lceil}\;\frac{b+3}{2}\rceil\;{\leq}\;i\;\leq\;t,\;where\;b=n_v$. We also show that $n_w\;=\;n_v$ when w is the prime divisor associated to a simple v-ideal $Q\;{\supset}\;P$ of order 2 and that w(R) = v(R) as well.

  • By means of a Riccati transform some oscillation or nonoscillation criteria are established for nonlinear differential equations of second order $$(E_1)\;[p(t)|x#(t)|^{\alpha}sgn\;x#(t)]#+q(t)|x(\tau(t)|^{\alpha}sgn\;x(\tau(t))=0$$. $$(E_2),\;(E_3)\;and\;(E_4)\;where\;0<{\alpha}$$ and $${\tau}(t){\leq}t,\;{\tau}#(t)>0,\;{\tau}(t){\rightarrow}{\infty}\;as\;t{\rightarrow}{\infty}$$. In this paper we improve some previous results.

  • The Cayley graph ${\Gamma}=Cay(G,S)$ is called normal edge-transitive if $N_A(R(G))$ acts transitively on the set of edges of ${\Gamma}$, where $A=Aut({\Gamma})$ and R(G) is the regular subgroup of A. In this paper, we determine all hexavalent normal edge-transitive Cayley graphs on groups of order pqr, where p > q > r > 2 are prime numbers.

  • In this paper the authors present sufficient conditions for all bounded solutions of the second order neutral difference equation ${\Delta}^2(y_n\;-\;py_{n-{\kappa}})\;-\;q_nf(y_{n-e})\;=\;0,\;n\;{\in}\;N$ to be oscillatory. Examples are provided to illustrate the results.

  • In this paper, we are concerned with a class of nonlinear second-order differential equations with a nonlinear damping term and forcing term: $$(r(t)k_1(x(t),x'(t)))'+p(t)k_2(x(t),x'(t))x'(t)+q(t)f(x(t))=0$$. Passage to more general class of equations allows us to remove a restrictive condition usually imposed on the nonlinearity. And, as a consequence, our results apply to wider classes of nonlinear differential equations. Some illustrative examples are considered.
