  • We put the pseudo-random number generator into catagories like MiCG, MuCG, URG, ICG, EICG, and test uniformity and independency by 10,000 times through n empirical trial after selecting this random number generator. Here, from a fraction of data(20, 40, 60, 80, 100) with a significance level of 0.1, 0.05 and 0.01, we drive cumulative frequency with K-S, $X^{2}$, poker, run, autocorrelation test. As a result from the uniformity and independency among five random number generators based on all these data, all random number generator except EICG passed uniformity and independency test, and the URG turn out to be excellent in periodicity.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of surface treatment of FRC-Post on bonding strength to resin cements. Materials and Methods: Pre-surface treated LuxaPost (DMG), Rely-X Fiber Post (3M ESPE) and self adhesive resin cement Rely-X Unicem (3M ESPE), conventional resin cement Rely-X ARC (3M ESPE), and Rely-X Ceramic Primer (3M ESPE) were used. After completing the surface treatments of the posts, posts and resin cement were placed in clear molds and photo-activation was performed. The specimens were sectioned perpendicular to the FRC-Post into 2 mm-thick segments, and push-out strength were measured. The results of bond strength value were statistically analyzed using independent samples t-test and oneway ANOVA with multiple comparisons using Scheffe's test. Results: Silanization of posts affect to the bond strength in LuxaPost, and did not affect in Rely-X Fiber Post. Rely-X ARC showed higher value than Rely-X Unicem. Conclusions: Silanization is needed to enhance the bond strength between LuxaPost and resin cements.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the linkage relationship of the resistance genes Wbph1 and Wbph2 which are known to be present in the rice cultivar N22 and ARC 10239 respectively, with the genetic markers which are identified as the specific linkage tester. Crosses were made between the resistant parents and the genetic marker stocks and their F$_2$ populations were grown out in the field. The genetic segregations of the marker character were studied and the seeds were harvested individual plant base. These F$_3$ seeds were grown into plant-line base in the greenhouse and their responses to the whitebacked planthopper were tested. Then the linkage relationship between the F$_2$ plant marker character and the F$_3$ resistance responses to the whitebacked planthopper were examined. In the F$_2$ generation of the crosses between the resistant parent N22 and the genetic marker stocks, the genetic markers, such as lg, d-t, g, la, bl and gl, showed the segregation of 3 dominance to 1 recessiveness, and the Bh marker segregated into 9:7 ratio. Another 4 marker genes, such as Cl, gh, Lh and bc, did not show the good fittness to the expected value. In the F$_2$ generation of the crosses between the resistant parent ARC 10239 and the genetic marker stocks, the genetic markers, such as Cl, lg, Pn, g, la, bl and gl, showed the segregation of 3 dominance to 1 recessiveness, and the Bh gene segregation fitted well to the 9:7. The rest 4 genetic markers, such as gh, Lh, nl and be, did not show the good fitness to the expected ratio. The resistance genes Wbphl of N22 and the Wbph2 of ARC 10239 appeared to be single dominant gene each. The Wbphl gene was linked with the marker gene, liguleless (lg) of linkage group II with the recombination value of 36.8%, and with the black hull (Bh) with the value of 35.9%. The Wbph2 gene appeared to be independent of all the markers tested here, such as Cl, lg, Pn, g, Lh, la, nl, bl, bc, gl, Bh, of linkage gtoup I, II, III, IV, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII respectively. That the Wbph2 linkage relations were not investigated was regarded as the causes that the tested marker genes on the chromosome were located with the resistance gene at the distant loci, and of the phenctypic properties of the marker characters. The Wbph2 linkage relations should be reexamined in the cross combinations of linkage group Ⅶ, Ⅷ, Ⅹ and XII including linkage group V which was not tested in this experiment.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the push-out bond strength of glass-fiber post cemented with different adhesive systems and surface treatments. Materials and methods: 160 tooth samples made from 48 human maxillary single-rooted teeth with similar root length were divided into 4 groups according to the adhesive system (no adhesive, Adper Single Bond 2, Clearfil SE Bond, Clearfil S3). Each group had 4 subgroups according to the post surface treatment methods (no treatment, sandblast, silane, sandblast and silane). Posts (Parapost Fiber White) were cemented with Rely X Unicem. The teeth were sectioned perpendicular to their long axis into 1-mm thick sections. The push-out tests was performed at a speed of 0.5 mm/min. The results were evaluated by 2-way ANOVA, 1-way ANOVA and multiple comparison procedures (Tukey test) (${\alpha}=0.05$). Results: Tukey test showed that the adhesive system significantly influenced the push-out strength. The Clearfil SE Bond group showed the highest value. Post surface treatments showed no significant effect. Conclusion: Bond strength of glass-fiber post cemented with self-adhesive resin cement using Clearfil SE Bond showed significantly higher values compared to other adhesive systems.

  • The results of performing first survey after learning linear equation and second survey after 5 months to find out whether there is change in solving process while seventh grade students solve linear equations are as follows. First, as a result of performing McNemar Test in order to find out the correct answer ratio between first survey and second survey, it was shown as $p=.035^a$ in problem x+4=9 and $p=.012^a$ in problem $x+\frac{1}{4}=\frac{2}{3}$ of problem type A while being shown as $p=.012^a$ in problem x+3=8 and $p=.035^a$ in problem 5(x+2)=20 of problem type B. Second, while there were students not making errors in the second survey among students who made errors in the solving process of problem type A and B, students making errors in the second survey among the students who expressed the solving process correctly in the first survey were shown. Third, while there were students expressing the solving process of linear equation correctly for all problems (type A, type B and type C), there were students expressing several problems correctly and unable to do so for several problems. In conclusion, even if a student has expressed the solving process correctly on all problems, it would be difficult to foresee that the student is able to express properly in the solving process when another problem is given. According to the result of analyzing the reaction of students toward three problem types (type A, type B and type C), it is possible to determine whether a certain student is 'able' or 'unable' to express the solving process of linear equation by analyzing the problem solving process.

  • To investigate a possibility of screening for the drought resistance of rice varieties in the slope-ridges, this experiment was conducted in Youngnam Crop Experiment Station in 1982. Seeds were vertically seeded on the slope-ridges which has 30 degree slopes from water level at the front to 1 meter height at the back side. A significant positive correlation was observed between the height of slope-ridges and the PF values (Y=2.25 +0.007 X, r =0.990${\ast}\;{\ast}$).The heading date delayed, the culm length was shortened and the yield was decreased in accordance with the height of slope-ridges. Based upon the above results, it was possible to read the drought resistance of the rice varieties tested. Samnambyeo, Milyang 26, Jinjubyeo and Nongrimna 1 were classified as the resistant ones, while Knob 361-1-8-6-149 was susceptible one.

  • This study was carried out to confirm the chromosome constitution and homoeologous recombination of progenies derived from various cross combination using tetraploid OA interspecific hybrid originated from mitotic chromosome doubling. Based on the chromosome analysis of progenies crossed reciprocally, there were only triploid progenies when crossed with diploid Asiatics as male or female parent. While only tetraploid progenies were produced when crossed tetraploid Asiatics or tetraploid OA hybrid with tetraploid OA hybrid, respectively. However, two types of progenies, that is, diploid and triploid plants, were produced from cross combinations between diploid Oriental hybrid and tetraploid OA hybrid. From the GISH analysis of OA hybrid, it was confirmed that diploid $F_1$ OA hybrid was consisted of 24 chromosomes (12 Oriental and 12 Asiatics) showing authentic OA hybrid. On the other hand, it was notified that triploid plants (3x=36) were consisted of 24 Asiatics lily chromosomes and 12 Oriental lily chromosomes by analysis of backcross progenies derived from either $A{\times}OA$ or $OA{\times}A$ crosses. In cross between tetraploid OA and OA, all the progenies were tetraploid with equal number of chromosomes without any homoeologous recombination, i.e. each 24 chromosomes of Oriental and Asiatics. In 2x-4x ($O{\times}OA$) cross combination, some progenies had 2x=24 chromosomes originated from only Oriental hybrid, and other progenies had 3x=36 chromosomes derived from 24 chromosomes of Oriental hybrid and 12 chromosomes of Asiatic hybrid. Only tetraploid Asiatics chromosomes without any Oriental one were produced in all the progenies from 4x-4x ($AA{\times}OA$) cross combination.
