  • In this paper, we introduce the concept of split and non-split tree (D, C)- set of a connected graph G and its associated color variable, namely split tree (D, C) number and non-split tree (D, C) number of G. A subset S ⊆ V of vertices in G is said to be a split tree (D, C) set of G if S is a tree (D, C) set and ⟨V - S⟩ is disconnected. The minimum size of the split tree (D, C) set of G is the split tree (D, C) number of G, γχST (G) = min{|S| : S is a split tree (D, C) set}. A subset S ⊆ V of vertices of G is said to be a non-split tree (D, C) set of G if S is a tree (D, C) set and ⟨V - S⟩ is connected and non-split tree (D, C) number of G is γχST (G) = min{|S| : S is a non-split tree (D, C) set of G}. The split and non-split tree (D, C) number of some standard graphs and its compliments are identified.

  • Let S and R be rings and $_SC_R$ a (faithfully) semidualizing bimodule. We introduce and study C-weak flat and C-weak injective modules as a generalization of C-flat and C-injective modules ([21]) respectively, and use them to provide additional information concerning the important Foxby equivalence between the subclasses of the Auslander class ${\mathcal{A}}_C$ (R) and that of the Bass class ${\mathcal{B}}_C$ (S). Then we study the stability of Auslander and Bass classes, which enables us to give some alternative characterizations of the modules in ${\mathcal{A}}_C$ (R) and ${\mathcal{B}}_C$ (S). Finally we consider an open question which is closely relative to the main results ([11]), and discuss the relationship between the Bass class ${\mathcal{B}}_C$(S) and the class of Gorenstein injective modules.

  • The queens of Korean native bumblebee species, Bombus ignitus were collected from the field in the spring of 1997 and reared under the various temperatures as 15$^{\circ}C$$\pm$1$^{\circ}C$, 2$0^{\circ}C$$\pm$1$^{\circ}C$, $25^{\circ}C$ $\pm$1$^{\circ}C$, 3$0^{\circ}C$$\pm$1$^{\circ}C$, 60%$\pm$5% of relative humidity and 14L : 10D, to investigate their ecological characteristics, as comparing with control(29$^{\circ}C$$\pm$1$^{\circ}C$, 60%$\pm$5% of relative humidity and red light). As a result, eggs were laid by foundation queen at 15$^{\circ}C$, but they didn't hatched out while at 2$0^{\circ}C$ eggs were laid by them and they hatched out. When a foundation queen laid eggs at $25^{\circ}C$ and they all were hatched out and normally grown. Finally they were developed to the normal colony. B. ignitus worker survived for 77days at 2$0^{\circ}C$, about 69days at $25^{\circ}C$, about 68days at 3$0^{\circ}C$ and about 63days at 29$^{\circ}C$(control). The first brood workers emerged in 25-27days from the egg which a foundation queen laid. At the various temperatures, the captive queens stand to lay eggs in about 18days at 15$^{\circ}C$, 15days at 2$0^{\circ}C$, 11days at $25^{\circ}C$, 11days at 3$0^{\circ}C$ and 4days in control. The first worker and the first drone from the egg cell of the collected queens appeared in about 27days and 72days at 2$0^{\circ}C$, 26days and 88days in $25^{\circ}C$, 24days and 65days at 3$0^{\circ}C$, 25days and 71days in control, respectively. In colony foundation, 33% of the collected queen at 2$0^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$, 100% of the disposed queen at 3$0^{\circ}C$ and in control, and 67% of them at 3$0^{\circ}C$ and in control both produced new queens in 66days and 88days, respectively. The life span of the colony founded covered fro about 3 months at $25^{\circ}C$, 3$0^{\circ}C$ and in control. At lower temperatures, the life span of queen is shorter; 2 months at 15$^{\circ}C$ and 3 months at 2$0^{\circ}C$, respectively. A colony which normally developed, varied in size with rearing temperatures; about 20heads at 2$0^{\circ}C$, 482heads at $25^{\circ}C$, 330heads at 3$0^{\circ}C$ and 452heads in control. A foundation queen monthly oviposited 1.5egg cells at 15$^{\circ}C$, 3.0egg cells at 2 $0^{\circ}C$, 21.7egg cells at $25^{\circ}C$, 42.3egg cells at 3$0^{\circ}C$ and 47.0egg cells in control. As a colony developed in June and July, egg cells as well as daily average cells increased in number, as compared to those in May and August. Also, in June and July, interval(days) of egg laying is shorter than in May and August. Number of nectar pots during the colony development varied with rearing temperatures; 31pots at $25^{\circ}C$, 39pots at 3$0^{\circ}C$, 23pots in control. The emergence of new queen showed a distinctively different two patterns; early emerging type and late emerging type. Workers are rapidly increased from early in July to early in August at $25^{\circ}C$, but at 3$0^{\circ}C$ and in control, emergence of workers are remarkably increased from the middle of June and last until July. No new queen emerged at 15$^{\circ}C$, 2$0^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$. New queens at 3$0^{\circ}C$ and in control emerged between late in June and early in July. Thus emergence of new queen was temperature dependent.

  • B4C-SiC composites were fabricated using hot press sintering method without sintering additives at 1,900~2,000℃ under a pressure of 40 MPa. The crystal phase, relative density, microstructure, and mechanical properties of B4C-SiC composites were evaluated. When B4C and SiC were uniformly dispersed in the composite, grain growth was inhibited, and a sintered body with a fine and uniform microstructure, with improved mechanical properties, was fabricated. The relative density of B4C-SiC composites sintered under 2,000℃ of temperature and 40 MPa of pressure was over 99.8 %, and the bending strength and Vicker's hardness at 50 wt% of B4C were 645 MPa and 30.6 GPa, respectively.

  • Recently one of the present authors [2] asserted that a real hypersurface of a complex space form M$^{n}$ (c), c.neq.0, is of cyclic parallel if and only if AJ=JA and he showed also a complete and connected cyclic-parallel real hypersurface of M$^{n}$ (c), is congruent to type $A_{1}$, $A_{2}$ or A according as c>0 or c<0. A real hypersurface of a complex space form M$^{n}$ (c) is said to be covariantly cyclic constant if the cyclic sum of covariant derivative of the second fundamental form is constant. The purpose of the present paper is to extend theorem 3 and 4 in [2] when the hypersurfaces are of coveriantly cyclic constant, that is a real hypersurface of a complex space form M$^{n}$ (c), c.neq.0, is of covariantly cyclic constant if an only if AJ=JA, and a complete and connected covariantly cyclic constant real hypersurface of M$^{n}$ (c) is congruent to type $A_{1}$, $A_{2}$ or a according as c>0 or c<0.

  • Let $\mathcal{W}$ be an additive full subcategory of the category R-Mod of left R-modules. We provide a method to construct a proper ${\mathcal{W}}^H_C$-resolution (resp. coproper ${\mathcal{W}}^T_C$-coresolution) of one term in a short exact sequence in R-Mod from those of the other two terms. By using these constructions, we introduce and study the stability of the Gorenstein categories ${\mathcal{G}}_C({\mathcal{W}}{\mathcal{W}}^T_C)$ and ${\mathcal{G}}_C({\mathcal{W}}^H_C{\mathcal{W}})$ with respect to a semidualizing bimodule C, and investigate the 2-out-of-3 property of these categories of a short exact sequence by using these constructions. Also we prove how they are related to the Gorenstein categories ${\mathcal{G}}((R{\ltimes}C){\otimes}_R{\mathcal{W}})_C$ and ${\mathcal{G}}(Hom_R(R{\ltimes}C,{\mathcal{W}}))_C$ over $R{\ltimes}C$.

  • The relationship between the behaviors of c.c.lipase back-extraction and their percolation phenomena by using AOT reverse micellar systems (RVMS) has been studied by the addition of a small amount of additives to organic phase such as thiols and nonionic-surfactants focusing on micelle-micelle interactions. The values of ${\beta}_t$ defined by the variation of percolation processes and back-extraction behaviors of c.c.lipase have a good linear correlation. The hydrophobicity of additive molecules suppressing the cluster formation of reverse micelles (high values of ${\beta}_t$) improved the back-extraction behavior of c.c.lipase. The back-extraction fraction and its rate of c.c.clipase are increased with decreasing of the value of hydrophilic lipophilic balance (HLB) and increasing of the hydrophobicity per additive molecules added to reverse micellar systems (RVSM) in the same additives concentration.

  • $SiC_f/SiC$ composites were joined using a $60{\mu}m-thick$ $Ti_3AlC_2$ or $Ti_3SiC_2$ MAX phase tape. The filler tape was inserted between the $SiC_f/SiC$ composites containing a 12 wt.% $Al_2O_3-Y_2O_3$ sintering additive. The joining was performed to a butt-joint configuration at $1600^{\circ}C$ or $1750^{\circ}C$ in an Ar atmosphere by applying 3.5 MPa using a hot press. Microstructural and phase analyses at the joining interface confirmed the decomposition of $Ti_3AlC_2$ and $Ti_3SiC_2$, indicating the joining by solid-state diffusion. The results showed sound joining interface without the presence of cracks. Joining strengths higher than 150 MPa could be obtained for the joints using $Ti_3AlC_2$ or $Ti_3SiC_2$ at $1750^{\circ}C$, while those for joined at $1600^{\circ}C$ decreased to 100 MPa approximately without the deformation of the joining bodies. The thickness of initial filler tape was reduced significantly after joining because of the decomposition and migration of MAX phase owing to the plasticity at high temperatures.

  • The aim of this thesis is to develop a robot C programming curriculum with the subject of the students in the middle & High School and to prove the effect of the programming on creativity and programming ability. The content of the robot C programming curriculum consists of the introduction, basic knowledge and assembling of the robot (usage of kits and the theory of mechanism); the learning of the robot c programming; the assigned robot making; the original robot making, which is ultimately designed to improve the creative robot programming ability of students. The subjects are divided into two groups(38); one groups(11) taking the course of C++programming and the other(27) taking the robot C programming as well as C++programming. Then each group's improvement of creativity and programming ability is measured in both pretest and posttest. The students taking the robot C programming curriculum gain the product of the assigned robot and the original robot. Besides, it turns out that the curriculum have a meaningful effect in that students acquire the enhanced creativity according to the result of TTCT Creativity Test. Self evaluation also indicates the improvement of C++programming ability.

  • In connection with two electron binding energy of each bond of saturated hydrocarbons, C-C bond fission and hydrogen abstraction from C-H bond are discussed by means of two center Huckel method. A beautiful correlation could be noticed between the observed bond dissociation energy and the calculated bond energy except for n-butane. Bond dissociation energies between C-C bond were also related to C-C bond fission. We could also find a very close relation between the relative easiness of hydrogen abstraction and the calculated binding energy of C-H bond. In other words, C-H bonds of tertiary hydrogen have been noticed as most weakely bonded and hence the tertiary hydrogen would most easily from the paraffins. In addition, the C-H binding energy is discussed applying ionic character of C-H bond which is derived from its dipole moment (0.4D)
