TiO2 광촉매와 UV LED를 이용한 접촉연소식 수소센서 (Catalytic combustion type hydrogen gas sensor using TiO2 and UV LED)

  • A thick film catalytic gas sensors which can be operated at $142^{\circ}C$ in presence of ultra violet-light emitting diode has been developed to measure hydrogen concentration in 0-5 % range. The sensing material as a combustion catalyst consists of $TiO_{2}$ (5 wt%) and Pd/Pt (20 wt%) supported on $Al_{2}O_{3}$ powder and the reference material to compensate the heat capacity of it in a bridge circuit was an catalyst free $Al_{2}O_{3}$ powder. Platinum heater and sensor materials were formed on the alumina plate by screen printing method and heat treatment. The effect of UV radiation in the presence of photo catalyst $TiO_{2}$ on the sensor sensitivity, response and recovery time has been investigated. The reduction of operating temperature from $192^{\circ}C$ to $142^{\circ}C$ for hydrogen gas sensing property in presence of UV radiation is attributed to the hydroxy radical and superoxide which was formed at the surface of $TiO_{2}$ under UV radiation.

  • 본 연구에서는 초임계 mixing을 이용하여 $SrTiO_3:\;Pr^{3+}$ 형광체 분말을 제조하였으며, 일반적 제조 방법인 고상법으로 제조된 분말과 발광특성을 비교하였다. 초임계 mixing에 의해 제조된 $SrTiO_3:\;Pr^{3+}$ 형광체 분말은 단상의 perovskite 구조를 갖으며, 형상은 구형인 좁은 입도분포를 보인다. 발광특성의 증대를 sensitizer인 $Al^{3+}$$Ga^{3+}$을 첨가하여 형광체의 발광특성을 관찰하였다.

  • Dielectric ceramics with nominal composition of $(Ba_{0.93}Sr_{0.07}O)-0.5Sm_2O_3-4.5TiO_2$ was prepared using the conventional mixed oxide process-derived powder. Effect of $SiO_2$, $MnO_2$ and $Al_2O_3$ impurity addition on the microwave properties was examined in some detail. Measured relative permittivity $(\varepsilon_r)$ values were in the range of 53 to 59 and showed little dependence on impurity addition. In contrast, quality factor $(Q{\cdot}f)$ and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency $(\tau_f)$ values were greatly influenced by the type and the amount of impurities. It was found that 0.1~0.2wt% addition of $Al_2O_3$ was most effective for improving the properties, where ${\varepsilon}_r$, $Q{\cdot}f$ and $\tau_f$ values were 57.7, 10000, and +7ppm/$^{\circ}C$, respectively.

다공성 $ZrTiO_4$ 재료의 제조 및 특성 (Fabrication and characteristics of porous ceramics from $ZrTiO_4$ based ceramic material)

  • 코디어라이트는 낮은 열팽창계수를 가지나, 디젤 배기가스 담체로써 사용하기에는 기계적 강도가 낮고, 황에 대한 내산성이 취약한 문제를 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 $SiO_2,\;Al_2O_3$, MoOx, $Cr_2O_3$$Nb_2O_5$가 첨가된 $ZrTiO_4$의 물성을 XRD, SEM, UTM 및 열팽창계수 측정 장치를 사용하여 측정하고 분석하였다. $ZrTiO_4$$TiO_2$$ZrO_2$를 출발원료로 볼빌에서 혼합한 후 $1240^{\circ}C$ 이상의 온도에서 3시간 하소함으로써 monoclinic 구조로 합성되었다. 꺽임강도 및 열팽창계수 측정용 시편은 $ZrTiO_4$와 첨가제를 혼합 성형하고, $1300^{\circ}C$에서 3 시간 소성함으로써 얻어졌다. 소결된 시편의 기공율은 첨가제의 함량이 5%로 증가함에 따라 첨가제의 종류에 관계없이 감소하였으나, 첨가제의 함량이 10% 로 증가하면 기공율은 포화되었다. 꺾임강도는 $Al_2O_3$를 5, 10 wt% 첨가 시 큰 폭으로 증가하였으나, 나머지 첨가제에 대해서는 꺾임강도가 감소하였다. $ZrTiO_4$의 열팽창계수 $(1000^{\circ}C)$$Nb_2O_5$를 제외하고는 첨가제가 증가할수록 계속적으로 감소하였으며, 특히, $SiO_2$가 첨가된 경우 가장 낮은 열팽창계수를 나타내었다.

  • Aluminum alloys are being employed in automobile parts as strive to reduce overall vehicle weight to meet demands for improved fuel economy and reduction in vehicle emissions. Al-based composites reinforced with ceramic ($Al_2O_3,\;SiC,\;TiC\;and\;B_4C$) applications in a variety of components in automotive engines, such as liners, where the tribological properties of the material are important. In this study, Al-base composites reinforced with TiC particle powders has been developed for producing plasma spray coatings. The composite plasma spray powders were prepared Al-13Si-3Mg(wt%) alloy with TiC(40, 60 and 80wt%) particles ($0.2~5{\mu}textrm{m}$) by drum type ball milling. The composite powders ($36~76{\mu}textrm{m}$) were sprayed with plasma torch. Plasma sprayed coatings were heat-treated at $500^{\circ}C$ for 3 hours. The wear resistances of the plasma sprayed coatings were found to decrease with increasing TiC content and improved with heat treatment. AlSiMg-40% TiC heat-treated coatings were showed the best wear resistance in this study.

균일침전시 여러 가지 금속염화물들을 첨가하여 제조된 TiO2 나노 분말들의 광산화 능력 평가 (Characterizations of Photo-Oxidative Abilities of Nanostructured TiO2 Powders Prepared with Additions of Various Metal-Chlorides during Homogeneous Precipitation)

  • Transition metal ions doped $TiO_2$ nanostructured powders were prepared with simply heating aqueous $TiOCl_2$ solutions, contained various metal ions (Ni, Al, Fe, Zr, and Nb) of 1.47 mol% added as metal-chlorides, at $100^{\circ}C$ for 4 hrs by homogeneous precipitation process under suppressing conditions of water vaporization. The characterizations for prepared $TiO_2$ powders were carried out to observe doping of metal ions, their concentrations and microstructures using XRD, UV-VIS (DRS), XPS, SEM, TEM and ICP. Also, photo-oxidative abilities were evaluated by decomposition of 4-chlorophenol (4CP) under ultraviolet light irradiations. No secondary oxide phases were formed in all the $VTiO_2$ powders, showing doping with various transition metal ions. When adding ions ($Ni^{2+}$ or$ Al^{3+ }$ and $Zr^{4+}$ ) having valance states or ionic radii greatly different from those of $Ti^{4+}$ , the $TiO_2$ powders of mixed anatase and rutile phases were formed, whereas in the case of additions of $^Fe{3+ }$ and $Nb^{ 5+}$ as well as no addition of metal ion the powders with pure rutile phase alone were formed. Among the prepared $TiO_2$ powders, Ni$^{2+}$ doped $TiO_2$ powders, containing a small amount of anatase phase, showed excellent photo-oxidative ability in 4CP decomposition because of relative decreases in electron-hole recombination and poisoning of $TiO_2$ surface during the photoreaction.n.

  • By means of magnetic pulsed compaction and sintering of weakly aggregated alumina based nanopowders the jet forming nozzle samples for the hydroabrasive cutting were fabricated. The ceramics was obtained from pure alumina, as well as from alumina, doped by $TiO_2$, MgO and AlMg. It was shown that the samples sintered from AlMg doped $Al_2O_3$ powder have the best mechanical properties and structural characteristics: relative density ${\sim}0.97$, channel microhardness. - 18-20 GPa, channel surface roughness ${\sim}0.7\;{\mu}m$, average crystallite size ${\sim}1\;{\mu}m$.

Calcium annealing approach to control of surface groups and formation of oxide in Ti3C2Tx MXene

  • Ti3C2Tx MXene, a 2D material, is known to exhibit unique characteristics that are strongly dependent on surface termination groups. Here, we developed a novel annealing approach with Ca as a reducing agent to simultaneously remove F and O groups from the surface of multilayered MXene powder. Unlike H2 annealing that removes F effectively but has difficulty in removing O, annealing with Ca effectively removed both O and F. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy revealed that the proposed approach effectively removed F and O from the MXene powder. The results of O/N analyses showed that the O concentration decreased by 57.5% (from 2.66 to 1.13 wt%). In addition, XPS fitting showed that the volume fraction of metal oxides (TiO2 and Al2O3) decreased, while surface termination groups (-O and -OH) were enhanced, which could increase the hydrophilic and adsorption properties of the MXene. These findings suggest that when F and O are removed from the MXene powder, the interlayer spacing of its lattice structure increases. The proposed treatment also resulted in an increase in the specific surface area (from 5.17 to 10.98 m2/g), with an increase in oxidation resistance temperature in air from ~436 to ~667 ℃. The benefits of this novel technology were verified by demonstrating the significantly improved cyclic charge-discharge characteristics of a lithium-ion battery with a Ca-treated MXene electrode.

한국산 천연 광물 부석 파우더 코팅 및 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study of Properties and Coating Natural Mineral Pumice Powder of in Korea)

  • 이 연구는 경상북도 봉화지역에서 매장된 천연 광물을 이용하여 화장료용의 분체로써 활용가치를 부여한 코팅 방법에 관한 것이다. 이 광물의 이름은 부석이라고 칭하며, 미립자 파우더를 개발하여 이 파우더의 성능을 평가하고 화장품의 효능적 가치가 있는 가에 대하여 연구한 결과를 보고한다. 이 파우더의 표면에 오일을 코팅하기 위하여 미립자 표면에 알루미늄하이드록사이드를 1차 코팅한 후에 여기에 알킬실란으로 코팅하였다. 또한, 식물성 오일로 코팅하여 파우더의 응집을 막고, 오일상에서의 분산성을 높일 수 있도록 하였다. 첫째; 부석파우더의 입자는 $10{\sim}50{\mu}m$의 입자를 가지고 있었으며, 입자의 표면에 다공성의 구멍이 있었다. 둘째; 이 파우더의 구성성분은 $SiO_2$, $Al_2O_3$, $Fe_2O_3$, MgO, CaO, $K_2O_2$, $Na_2O$, $TiO_2$, $TiO_2$, MnO, $Cr_2O_3$, $V_2O_5$ 등을 함유하였다. 셋째: 이 파우더의 입자는 판상형 구조를 가지며, 다공성으로 적갈색을 가지고 있음을 SEM과 TEM 분석을 통하여 알 수 있었다. 넷째; 이부석 파우더의 원적외선 방사율은 $0.924{\mu}m$이었으며, 방사에너지는 $3.72{\times}10^W/m^2{\cdot}{\mu}m$ 이었다. 또한 음이온 방출량은 128 ION/cc를 방출하는 것으로써, 코팅을 하더라도 변하지 않고 그대로 그 성능이 유지되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 화장품의 응용분야로써 비비크림, 쿠션파운데이션, 파우더펙트 등의 색조화장품, 선블록크림, 워시오프 마사지팩 등의 기초 화장료에 폭넓게 응용이 가능할 것으로 기대한다.

LaCrxCo1-xO3/Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3의 적층구조를 가지는 가스센서 제조와 그의 NOx 검지특성 (Fabrication of Stack-Structured Gas Sensor of LaCrxCo1-xO3/Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3 and Its NOx Sensing Properties)

  • Impedancemetric $NO_x$ (NO and $NO_2$) gas sensors were designed with a stacked-layer structure and fabricated using $LaCr_xCo_{1-x}O_3$ (x = 0, 0.2, 0.5, 0.8 and 1) as the receptor material and $Li_{1.3}Al_{0.3}Ti_{1.7}(PO_4)_3$ plates as the solid-electrolyte transducer material. The $LaCr_xCo_{1-x}O_3$ layers were prepared with a polymeric precursor method that used ethylene glycol as the solvent, acetyl acetone as the chelating agent, and polyvinylpyrrolidone as the polymer additive. The effects of the Co concentration on the structural, morphological, and $NO_x$ sensing properties of the $LaCr_xCo_{1-x}O_3$ powders were investigated with powder X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, and its response to 20~250 ppm of $NO_x$ at $400^{\circ}C$ (for 1 kHz and 0.5 V), respectively. When the as-prepared precursors were calcined at $700^{\circ}C$, only a single phase was detected, which corresponded to a perovskite-type structure. The XRD results showed that as the Co concentration of the $LaCr_xCo_{1-x}O_3$powders increased, the crystal structure was transformed from an orthorhombic phase to a rhombohedral phase. Moreover, the $LaCr_xCo_{1-x}O_3$ powders with $0{\leq}x<0.8$ had a rhombohedral symmetry. The size of the particles in the $LaCr_xCo_{1-x}O_3$powders increased from 0.1 to $0.5{\mu}m$ as the Co concentration increased. The sensing performance of the stack-structured $LaCr_xCo_{1-x}O_3/Li_{1.3}Al_{0.3}Ti_{1.7}(PO_4)_3$ sensors was found to divide the impedance component between the resistance and capacitance. The response of these sensors to NO gas was more sensitive than that to $NO_2$ gas. Compared to other impedancemetric sensors, the $LaCr_{0.8}Co_{0.2}O_3/Li_{1.3}Al_{0.3}Ti_{1.7}(PO_4)_3$ sensor exhibited good reversibility and reliable sensingresponse properties for $NO_x$ gases.
