  • Assume $H_i : R_+ \times R_+ \to R_+ (i = 1, 2)$ are monotonically increasing (in both variables), homogeneous mapping for which $H_1(tu, tv) = t^p(H_1(u, v) (p > 0)$ and $H_2(u, v)^{t^q} (q \leq 1)$ hold for $t, u, v \geq 0$. Using an idea from the paper of Baker, Lawrence and Zorzitto [2], the superstability problems of the functional inequalities $\Vert f(x+y) - f(x)f(y) \Vert \leq H_i (\Vert x \Vert, \Vert y \Vert)$ shall be investigated.

  • This paper proves the following results: Let $f$ be a transcendental entire function, and let $k({\geq})2$ be a positive integer. If $T(r,\;f){\neq}N_{1)}(r,1/f)+S(r,\;f)$, then $ff^{(k)}$ assumes every finite nonzero value infinitely often. Also the case when f is a transcendental meromorphic function has been considered and some results are obtained.

Characteristics of TiO2 Thin Films Fabricated by R.E, Magnetron Sputtering (R.F Magnetron Sputtering법으로 제조한 TiO2 박막의 특성)

  • Titanium oxide thin films were prepared on Si(100) substrates by R.F. magnetron reactive sputtering at $30\sim200watt$ R.F power range, and annealed at $600^{\circ}C\sim800^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. The properties of $TiO_2$ thin films were analyzed using x-ray, ${\alpha}-step$, ellipsometer, scanning electron microscopy, and FT-IR spectrometer. Upon in-situ depositions, the initial phase of $TiO_2$ thin film showed non-crystalline phase at R.F. power $30\sim100$ watt. The crosssection of $TiO_2$ thin films were sbserved to be the columnar structure. With the increasing R.F power and annealing temperature, the grain size, crystallinity, refractive index, and void size of titanium oxides showed a tended to increase. The FT-IR transmittance spectra of titanium oxide thin films have the obsorption band of Ti-O bond, Si-O bond, Si-O-Ti bond and O-H bond. With the increase of R.F. power and annealing temperature, these films have the stronger bond structures. It is considered that such a phenomena is due to phase transition and good crystallinity

Structure and Properties of Sputtered Indium Tin Oxide Thin Film (R.F Sputtering 법으로 증착한 ITO 박막의 미세구조와 전기$\cdot$광학적 특성)

  • Highly conductive and transparent in the visible region tin-doped indium oxide(ITO) thin films were deposited on Corning glass by r.f sputtering. To achieve high transmittance and low resistivity, we examined various parameters such as r.f power and deposition time. The films crystallinity shifted from (222) to (400) and (440) orientation as deposition time and r.f power increased. Surface roughness RMS value increased proportionally with deposition time. The lowest resistivity was $5.36{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ at 750 nm thickness, $200^{\circ}C$ substrate temperature and 125 w r.f power. All of the films showed over $85\%$ transmittance in the visible wavelength range.

  • Let R be a ring with identity 1, $I(R){\neq}\{0\}$ be the set of all nonunit idempotents in R, and M(R) be the set of all primitive idempotents and 0 of R. We say that I(R) is additive if for all e, $f{\in}I(R)$ ($e{\neq}f$), $e+f{\in}I(R)$. In this paper, the following are shown: (1) I(R) is a finite additive set if and only if $M(R){\backslash}\{0\}$ is a complete set of primitive central idempotents, char(R) = 2 and every nonzero idempotent of R can be expressed as a sum of orthogonal primitive idempotents of R; (2) for a regular ring R such that I(R) is a finite additive set, if the multiplicative group of all units of R is abelian (resp. cyclic), then R is a commutative ring (resp. R is a finite direct product of finite field).

Quantitative Determination of the Triterpenoids and Total Tannin in Korean Rubus species by HPLC

  • The triterpenoids contained in four Rubus species (Rosaceae) were quantitatively analyzed using HPLC to select plants with large quantities of niga-ichigoside $F_1$. Unripe fruits, ripe fruits, and leaves were extracted to estimate the quantity of niga-ichigoside $F_1$, together with Rubus-specific $19{\alpha}$-hydroxyursane-type triterpenoids, euscaphic acid, tormentic acid, and kaji-ichigoside $F_1$, and a dimeric triterpenoid coreanoside $F_1$. Niga-ichigoside $F_1$ was most abundant in the leaves of R. crataegifolius (23.4 mg/g dry weight). The amount of triterpenoid in the black, ripe fruits of R. coreanus was lower than the unripe fruits of the same plant. On the other hand, the ripe fruits of three plants, R. crataegifolius, R. parvifolius and R. pungens var. oldhami, which are reddish, contained higher or similar level of triterpenoids than their unripe fruits. In addition, the concentration of niga-ichigoside $F_1$ in the ripe fruit of R. crataegifolius was 20.5 mg/g, suggesting that the fruits could be used as a functional food. Methyl gallate and ellagic acid were used as quantitative indices of total tannin. Methyl gallate levels were higher in ripe fruits than unripe fruits in R. crataegifolius, R. pungens var. oldhami, and R. parvifolius. In R. crataegifolius, the quantity of methyl gallate was 30.5 mg/g in ripe fruit, but 1.19 mg/g in unripe fruit.

A Study on Occupational Diseases of Fire Officials (소방공무원의 직무질환에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the occupational diseases(the number of medical treatment) of fire officials by using time-series analysis. The results of the study are as follows. First, the average rates of the occupational diseases of fire officials were as follows: ① internal diseases were the highest at 9.24% in December, the lowest at 7.76% in February, ② otolaryngologic diseases were the highest at 9.29% in December, the lowest at 6.74% in August, ③ dermatological diseases were the highest at 10.03% in July, the lowest at 7.35% in January and February, ④ surgical diseases were the highest at 10.38% in November, the lowest at 5.62% in February, ⑤ orthopedic diseases were the highest at 9.69% in March, the lowest at 7.52% in November, ⑥ neurosurgical diseases were the highest at 9.33% in April, the lowest at 6.82% in February, ⑦ neurological diseases were the highest at 9.47% in December, the lowest at 7.06% in October, and ⑧ mental health diseases were the highest at 9.93% in December, the lowest at 6.51% in May. Second, the seasonal decomposition of the disease occurrence of fire officials were described by assigning seasonal factor(S), trend factor(T), circulation factor(C) and irregular factor(R): ① internal diseases were 1.075(S) × 189.355(T·C) × 1.174(R) = 238.975(F), ② otolaryngologic diseases were 1.023(S) × 69.605(T·C) × 1.040(R) = 74.000(F), ③ dermatological diseases were 1.002(S) × 73.088(T·C) × 0.874(R) = 64.000(F), ④ surgical diseases were 1.099(S) × 27.229(T·C) × 0.669(R) = 20.000(F), ⑤ orthopedic diseases were 1.115(S) × 73.182(T·C) × 1.213(R) = 99.000(F), ⑥ neurosurgical diseases were 0.993(S) × 27.836(T·C) × 1.303(R) = 36.000(F), ⑦ neurological diseases were 1.029(S) × 62.417(T·C) × 1.152(R) = 74.000(F), and ⑧ mental health diseases were 1.210(S) × 8.781(T·C) × 1.035(R) = 11.000(F).

Die Feststellung des Todes im Strafrecht (사망의 판정)

  • Der Begriff des Todes $h{\ddot{a}}ngt$ die einzelne Wertvorstellung ab, so dass die Unanschaulichkeit des Todes besteht und noch zu $kl{\ddot{a}}ren$ ist. Im koreanischen Recht, findet sich keine Legaldefinition des Todes. In der juristischen Literatur herrscht der Herztod, nach dem $f{\ddot{u}}r$ den Todeszeitpunkt der irreversible und $vollst{\ddot{a}}ndige$ Stillstand der $Herzt\ddot{a}tigkeit$ gehalten wird, $herk{\ddot{o}}mmlicherweise$ bis jetzt als Todesdefinition vor. Der Herztod basiert darauf, dass Individualtod des Menschen durch den $endg{\ddot{u}}ltigen$, nicht behebbaren Stillstands von Herzschlag nach Ausfall von Atmung eingetreten sind. Auch der medizinische Laie kann den Herztod einfach wahrnehmen und sicher feststellen. Darauf folgt der Herztod als sicheres Todeszeichen angesehen wird. In der Regel trete der Herztod letzte Mal im $nat{\ddot{u}}rlichen$ Sterbeprozess ein. Die $j{\ddot{u}}ngste$ $k{\ddot{u}}nstlichen$ Reanimationsma ${\SS}nahmen$ $erm{\ddot{o}}glicht$ es, die Atmungs- und Kreislauffunktion $f{\ddot{u}}r$ eine begrenzte Zeit $k{\ddot{u}}nstlich$ aufrecht zu erhalten. Die Entwicklung der Medizin machte es zu erkennen, dass das "Zentralorgan Gehirn" $f{\ddot{u}}r$ die Aufrechterhaltung der biologischen Lebensfunktion des Gesamtorganismus unverzichtbar ist. Die Verbesserung von Transplantationstechniken gab $gro{\SS}en$ Anlass neben $f{\ddot{u}}r$ den verbesserten Reanimationstechniken auch $f{\ddot{u}}r$ den Fortschritt auf dem Gebiet der toten Transplantation. Je frischer die Organe sind, desto $gr\ddot{o}{\SS}er$ sind die Chancen $f{\ddot{u}}r$ eine erfolgreiche Verpflanzung und $f{\ddot{u}}r$ $T{\ddot{a}}tigkeit$ im $Empf{\ddot{a}}ngerorganismus$. Die Organentnahme als solche wird $unzul{\ddot{a}}ssig$ nur durch Feststellung des Herztod bei lebenswichtigen Organe, besonders wie Herz. Der Herzstillstand allein ist aber kein sicheres Kriterimn $f{\ddot{u}}r$ die $Zul{\ddot{a}}ssigkeit$ der Organentnahme. Im Korea wurde das Gesetz ${\ddot{u}}ber$ die Transplantation von Organen (Gesetz-Nummer 5858) am 8. Februar 1999 ${\ddot{o}}ffentlich$ bekannt gemacht l1nd trat am 9. Febrllar 2000 in Kraft(${\S}$ 1 Schussvorschriften kTPG). Aus der Sicht des Gesamthirntod definiert das Transplantationsgesetz derjenige, dass nach Kriterien und Nachweisverfahren $f{\ddot{u}}r$ Hirntodfeststellung dieses Gesetzes der irreversible Ausfall der Gesamthirnfunktion festgestellt wird, als Hirntoter (${\S}$ 3 Nr.4 kTPG). Mit dieser Regelung wird die Feststellung des Gesamthimtodes als gesetzliche Mindestvoraussetzung $f{\ddot{u}}r$ die Organentnahme festgelegt. Es handelt sich um Kriterien und Nachweisverfahren $f{\ddot{u}}r$ Hirntodfeststellung des koreanischen Transplantationsgesetzes.

A Role for Arabidopsis miR399f in Salt, Drought, and ABA Signaling

  • MiR399f plays a crucial role in maintaining phosphate homeostasis in Arabidopsis thaliana. Under phosphate starvation conditions, AtMYB2, which plays a role in plant salt and drought stress responses, directly regulates the expression of miR399f. In this study, we found that miR399f also participates in plant responses to abscisic acid (ABA), and to abiotic stresses including salt and drought. Salt and ABA treatment induced the expression of miR399f, as confirmed by histochemical analysis of promoter-GUS fusions. Transgenic Arabidopsis plants overexpressing miR399f (miR399f-OE) exhibited enhanced tolerance to salt stress and exogenous ABA, but hypersensitivity to drought. Our in silico analysis identified ABF3 and CSP41b as putative target genes of miR399f, and expression analysis revealed that mRNA levels of ABF3 and CSP41b decreased remarkably in miR399f-OE plants under salt stress and in response to treatment with ABA. Moreover, we showed that activation of stress-responsive gene expression in response to salt stress and ABA treatment was impaired in miR399f-OE plants. Thus, these results suggested that in addition to phosphate starvation signaling, miR399f might also modulates plant responses to salt, ABA, and drought, by regulating the expression of newly discovered target genes such as ABF3 and CSP41b.
