SOME PROPERTIES OF $D^n$-GROUPS

  • In 1980 and 1983, it was proved that P $D^{2}$-groups are surface groups ([2], [3]). Since then, topologists have been positively studying about P $D^{n}$ -groups (or $D^{n}$ -groups). For example, let a topological space X have a right .pi.-action, where .pi. is a multiplicative group. If each x.memX has an open neighborhood U such that for each u.mem..pi., u.neq.1, U.cap. $U_{u}$ =.phi., this right .pi.-action is said to be proper. In this case, if X/.pi. is compact then (1) .pi.$_{1}$(X/.pi).iden..pi.(X:connected, .pi.$_{1}$: fundamental group) ([4]), (2) if X is a differentiable orientable manifold with demension n and .rho.X (the boundary of X)=.phi. then $H^{k}$ (X;Z).iden. $H_{n-k}$(X;Z), ([6]), where Z is the set of all integers.s.

  • P2X receptors are ligand gated cation channels activated by the binding of extracellular adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP) and classified into 7 subtype families. $P2X_1$ receptors are abundantly expressed in smooth muscle mediates blood vessel and mediate constriction upon binding of neuronal ATP. The activation of $P2X_3$ receptor by ATP has been known to initiate the pain signaling in the peripheral nervous system, which is involved in chronic inflammatory nociception and neuropathic pain by nerve injury.   • For a nondegenerate projective irreducible variety $X{\subset}{\mathbb{P}}^r$, it is a natural problem to find an upper bound for the value of $${\ell}_{\beta}(X)=max\{length(X{\cap}L){\mid}L={\mathbb{P}}^{\beta}{\subset}{\mathbb{P}}^r,\;{\dim}(X{\cap}L)=0\}$$ for each $1{\leq}{\beta}{\leq}e$. When X is locally Cohen-Macaulay, A. Noma in [10] proves that ${\ell}_{\beta}(X)$ is at most $d-e+{\beta}$ where d and e are respectively the degree and the codimension of X. In this paper, we construct some surfaces $S{\subset}{\mathbb{P}}^5$ of degree $d{\in}\{7,{\ldots},12\}$ which satisfies the inequality $${\ell}_2(S){\geq}d-3+{\lfloor}{\frac{d}{2}}{\rfloor}$$. This shows that Noma's bound is no more valid for locally non-Cohen-Macaulay varieties.

제올라이트 AW500,13X 이용 Cs 고 Sr의 분리특성과 가열변화

  • Cs는 AW500 에서 높은 분배계수 값(K$_{Cs}$>$10^3$$m\ell$/g)을 얻었으며 , Sr은 13X, 평형 용액의 pH=10의 조건에서 최대의 분배계수값(K$_{Sr}$~$10^4$$m\ell$/g)을 보였고, 평형용액의 pH 증가에 따라서 급격히 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 또한 AW500-Cs와 13X-Sr계는 고액비, 즉 V/m=40, 및 초기용액의 pH가 3 이상에서 최대의 분배계수 값을 얻었으며, 혼합제올라이트의 비(AW500/13X)가 1.5인 조건에서 Cs과 Sr을 효과적으로 동시에 분리할 수 있음 보았다. 그리고 1,10$0^{\circ}C$에서 배소한 AW500-Cs는 CsAlSi$_2$O$_{6}$로 재결정되며 , 13X-Sr은 SrAI$_2$Si$_2$O$_{8}$ 및 SiO$_2$상(phase)으로 재결정한다.

Limit of the Ratio of Incomplete Beta Functions

  • This paper considers the limit of the ratio of two incomplete beta functions $I_{x}(p+s,q+r)\;to\;I_{x}(p,q)\;as\;p+q{\rightarrow}{\infty}$. The results show that the limits depend on r,s,x and the limit of p/(p+q).

A Study on Obesity Index, Body Shape Satisfaction and Body Shape Esteem according to Weight Perception in Elementary Students (초등학생의 체형지각에 따른 비만도와 체형만족도 및 체형존중감에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the obesity index, body shape satisfaction and body shape esteem according to weight perception in elementary school students. Method: The data were collected by using a questionnaire and physical examination records. The subjects were comprised of 669 children, all 12-years old, obtained from five (5) different elementary schools located in Jechoen. Data were analyzed with frequency, percentages, Chi-square test, ANOVA using the SPSS program. Results: 12.5% of male students, 11.1% of female students perceived themselves obese. There were significant differences in obesity index according to weight perception in male students ($x^2$=140.47, p= .000), in female students ($x^2$=130.99, p= .000). The percentages corresponding to normal body weight were highest with students who thought themselves thin in male students and self-perceived normal in female students. But in female students, 23.3% of self-perceived thin students, 37.8% of students who thought themselves obese corresponded to normal body weight actually. There were significant differences in body shape satisfaction according to weight perception in male students($x^2$=140.47, p= .000), and in female students($x^2$=130.99, p= .000). The percentages of body shape satisfaction were highest with students who thought themselves normal in male students while and in female students, the students who thought themselves thin were highest. There were significant differences in body shape esteem according to weight perception for male students (F=17.67, p= .000), and in female students (F=13.95, p= .000). The mean scores of body shape esteem were highest with students who thought themselves normal in male students and thin in female students. The students who thought themselves obese were lowest. There were significant differences in weight perception according to father's body shape ($x^2$=13.72, p= .008) in male students and father's educational level ($x^2$=14.90, p= .021), mother's educational level ($x^2$=17.73, p= .007), mother's body shape ($x^2$=13.07, p= .011) in female students.

AN ARTINIAN POINT-CONFIGURATION QUOTIENT AND THE STRONG LEFSCHETZ PROPERTY

  • In this paper, we study an Artinian point-configuration quotient having the SLP. We show that an Artinian quotient of points in $\mathbb{p}^n$ has the SLP when the union of two sets of points has a specific Hilbert function. As an application, we prove that an Artinian linear star configuration quotient $R/(I_{\mathbb{X}}+I_{\mathbb{Y}})$ has the SLP if $\mathbb{X}$ and $\mathbb{Y}$ are linear starconfigurations in $\mathbb{p}^2$ of type s and t for $s{\geq}(^t_2)-1$ and $t{\geq}3$. We also show that an Artinian $\mathbb{k}$-configuration quotient $R/(I_{\mathbb{X}}+I_{\mathbb{Y}})$ has the SLP if $\mathbb{X}$ is a $\mathbb{k}$-configuration of type (1, 2) or (1, 2, 3) in $\mathbb{p}^2$, and $\mathbb{X}{\cup}\mathbb{Y}$ is a basic configuration in $\mathbb{p}^2$.

  • Solid solution ceramics having various ratios between xPb( $Y_{1}$2/T $a_{1}$2/) $O_3$ and Pb(Z $r_{0.52}$ $Ti_{0.48}$) $O_3$were synthesized by a conventional solid state reaction for well sintered specimens, dielectric and piezoelectric prperties were studied as a function of composition. The dielectric constant of PYT-PZT ceramics of 4 mol% PYT was 1,424 at room temperature. The maximum value of electromechanical couping facotr $k_{p}$ of 51% $k_{t}$ of 30% were obtained at the composition of 4 mol% PYT, howerver mechanical quality factor( $Q_{m}$) had a minimum value of 69 at 4 mol% PYT. Also the maximum value of piezoelectric constant of $D_{33}$(310[pC/N]) and $d_{31}$(-131[pC/N]) were obtained at the composition of 4 mol% PYT content.ntent.t.t.t.

Chemical Characteristics of Fog at a Forested Area in Jinju (진주시 주변 산림에서 안개의 화학적 특성)

  • This study was carried out to analyze chemical compositions of the fog water of a forest area, Jinju and to provide basic information for establishing measures on the acid fog water of forest area. The results are as follows: The pH of fog water was 4.3 in 2010, whereas the pH in 2011 was 4.0. The electrical conductivity of the fog water was $477.2{\mu}s$ in 2010, and $562.7{\mu}s$ in 2011. Among the anions, the concentration of $NO^{3-}$ was the highest, which recorded 267.1 mg/L in spring season and 279.1 mg/L in summer season, followed by $SO{_4}^{2-}$ at the concentration of 177.2 mg/L in spring season and 198.6mg/L in summer season. In autumn and winter, the concentration of $NO^{3-}$ was highest as 217.7 mg/L and 237.9 mg/L, respectively and followed by $SO{_4}^{2-}$, which concentration was 164.2 mg/L in autumn season and 190.1 mg/L in winter season (p<0.05). Among the cations, the concentration of $Ca^{2+}$ was 221.3 mg/L in spring and 233.7mg/L in summer, followed by $Na^+$ at 125.1 mg/L in spring season and 131.7 mg/L in summer In autumn and winter, the concentration of $Ca^{2+}$ was highest at 196.8 mg/L and 198.8 mg/L, followed by $Na^+$ at the concentration of 97.1 mg/L in autumn and 117.2 mg/L in winter (p<0.05). The pH of the fog rain that causes acid mist showed the correlation with $Ca^{++}$ (1% of level), $EC(r=-0.9861^{**})$, $NO^{3-}$ ($r=-0.9677^{**}$), and $SO{_4}^{2-}$ ($r=-0.9510^{**}$). The regression equation on the factors affecting the generation of acidic fog rain was estimated to be a $Y(pH)=6.4627+0.9723X_2(EC)+0.9364X_4(NO_3{^-})+0.9044X_5(SO{_4}^{2-})+0.8049X_{10}(Ca^{2+})+0.6709X_8(K^+)\;(r^2=0.8787)$.

Changes in the Physicochemical Characteristics and Trans Acid of Cottonseed Oil during Selective Hydrogenation (선택적 수소첨가 면실유의 이화학적 특성변화 및 트란스산 생성)

  • Changes in the physicochemical characteristics and trans acid of cottonseed oil under the condition of selective hydrogenation, temperature$210^{\circ}C,\;H_2\;pressure\;0.3\;kg/cm^2$ Ni catalyst amount 0.12% (in oil), agitation speed 280 rpm, were investigated. The saturated fatty acid such as palmitic acid and stearic acid did not show any difference, while linoleic acid($50.03%{\rightarrow}9.38%$) were transformed to oleic acid ($20.65%{\rightarrow}60.35%$) during hydrogenation. In linoleic acid isomers, cc form were reduced significantly, but ct, tc, tt form showed little change, respectively. In oleic acid isomer, t form increased markedly, whereas there was no significant difference in c form. Meanwhile, melting point(MP) and solid fat content (SFC) were linearly increased, but iodine value(IV) linearly decreased as hydrogenation proceeded. From these results, linear regression equations were obtained as follows. MP & IV : Y= 1.59-2.36X(r=-0.96, p<0.05), SFC($at\;20^{\circ}C$) & MP : Y=2.81+2.01X(r=0.96, p<0.05), SFC($at\;20^{\circ}C$) & IV : Y=9.40-5.16X(r=-0.99, p<0.01), SFC($at\;20^{\circ}C$) & 18 : 1t : Y=6.25+8.48X(r=0.97, p<0.05)
