The ion-induced secondary electron emission coefficient ${\gamma}$ for MgO thin film with $O_{2}$ plasma treatment has been investigated by ${\gamma}$-FIB (focused ion beam) system. The MgO thin film deposited from sintered material with $O_2$ plasma treatment is found to have higher ${\gamma}$ than that without $O_{2}$ plasma treatment. The energy of $Ne^{+}$ ions used has been ranged from 100eV to 200eV throughout this experiment. It is found that the highest secondary electron emission coefficient ${\gamma}$ has been achieved for 10 minutes of $O_{2}$ plasma treatment.

We investigated the effects of a high density $O_2$ plasma treatment on the structural and electrical properties of Ga-, B- codoped ZnO (GZOB) films. The GZOB films were deposited on polymer substrate without substrate heating by DC magnetron sputtering. Prior to the GZOB film growth, we treated a polymer substrate with highly dense inductively coupled oxygen plasma. The optical transmittance of the GZOB film, about 80 %, was maintained regardless of the plasma pre-treatment. The resistivity of the GZOB film on PC substrate decreased from 9.08 ${\times}$ $10^{-3}$ ${\Omega}-cm$ without an $O_2$ plasma pre-treatment to 2.12 ${\times}$ $10^{-3}$ ${\Omega}-cm$ with an $O_2$ plasma pre-treatment. And PES substrate decreased from 1.14 ${\times}$ $10^{-2}$ ${\Omega}-cm$ without an $O_2$ plasma pre-treatment to 6.13 ${\times}$ $10^{-3}$ ${\Omega}-cm$ with an $O_2$ plasma pre-treatment.

In this study, the photocurrent characteristics of plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings have been investigated according to additive transition metal (Fe, Mn, Nb powder) and heat treatment conditions. The plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings by heat treatment at $400^{\circ}C$ and 90 min had the higher photocurrent at ultraviolet light, no photocurrent at visible light. The photocurrent of plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings added by Fe, Mn, Nb (named by plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ composite coatings) was lower than that of plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings at ultraviolet light, as was low in intensity ratio of XRD(101)/(110). and the atomic percentage of oxygen by plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ composite coatings was higher than that by plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings. The photocurrent of plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ composite coatings in heat treatment at $400^{\circ}C$ and 90 min was higher than that of plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings in same heat treatment conditions at ultraviolet and visible light, as was high in oxygen affinity by heat treatment.

A simple bi-layer structure of organic light emitting diode (OLED) was used to study the characteristics of anode preparation. Indium tin oxide (ITO) anode surface treatment of OLEDs was performed to get the optimum condition for the ITO anode. The ITO surface was treated by $O_2$ or $O_2$ / Ar mixed gas plasma with different processing time. The electrical characteristics of OLED were improved by plasma treatment. The operating voltage of OLED with $O_2$ or $O_2$/Ar mixed gas plasma treated anodes decreases from 8.2 to 3.4 V and 3.2V, respectively. The $O_2$ /Ar mixed gas plasma treatment results in better electrical property.

The changes in the work $function({\Phi}_w)$ in the MgO protective layers after $plasma(Ar,\;H_2)$ treatment have been studied using ${\Upsilon}-focused$ ion beam $({\Upsilon}-FIB)$ system. The ${\Phi}_w$ was determined as follows: Ar-plasma $treatment({\Phi}_w=4.52eV)$, $H_2-plasma$ $treatment({\Phi}_w=5.65eV)$, and non-plasma $treatment({\Phi}_w=4.64eV)$. The results indicated that the H-plasma could not make any effective physical etching due to the small masses of hydrogen atoms and molecules while the hydration of H-plasma could grow some contaminating materials on the surface of MgO.

Titanium oxide ($TiO_2$) thin films were fabricated by unbalanced magnetron (UBM) sputtering. The fabricated $TiO_2$ films were treated by oxygen plasma under various RF powers. We investigated the characteristics of oxygen plasma treatment on the surface, structural, and physical properties of $TiO_2$ films prepared at various plasma treatment RF powers. UBM sputtered $TiO_2$ films exhibited higher contact angle value, smooth surface, and amorphous structure. However, the rms surface roughness $TiO_2$ films were rough, and the contact angle value was decreased with the increase of the plasma treatment RF power Also, the hardness value of $TiO_2$ film as physical properties was slightly increased with the increase of the plasma treatment RF power. In the results, the performance of $TiO_2$ films for self cleaning critically depended on the with the plasma treatment RF power.

In this study, the polycarbonate surface was treated by $O_2$/ Ar gases plasma for the enhancement of adhesion with Cu electrode. From the point of view of hydrophilicity and the functionality, the micro-roughness, new functional groups and oxygen content of the polycarbonate surface were increased by the $O_2$/ Ar gases plasma treatment. The Cu films deposited on the as-received polycarbonate were easily detached while, after the$ O_2$/ Ar gases plasma treatment the adhesive Cu films on polycarbonate could be obtained. These results can be explained that the polycarbonate had a hydrophilic surface with uniform micro-roughness and new functional groups by $O_2$/ Ar gases plasma treatment. Therefore,$O_2$/ Ar gases plasma treatment is a promising method for improvement of adhesion between polycarbonate and Cu electrode.

In order to achieve a high efficient a-Si solar cell, the TCO (transparent conductive oxide) substrates are required to be a low sheet resistivity, a high transparency, and a textured surface with light trapping effect. Recently, a zinc oxide (ZnO) thin film attracts our attention as new coating material having a good transparent and conductive for TCO of solar cells. In this paper the optical properties of $H_2$ post-treated BZO (boron doped ZnO, ZnO:B) thin film are investigated with $O_2$-plasma treatment. The BZO thin films by MOCVD (Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition) are investigated and the samples of $H_2$ post-treated BZO thin film are tested with $O_2$-plasma treatment by plasma treatment system with 13.56 MHz as RIE (Reactive Ion Etching) type. We measured the optical properties and surface morphology of BZO thin film with and without $O_2$-plasma treatment. The optical properties such as transmittance, reflectance and haze are measured with integrating sphere and ellipsometer. This result of the BZO thin film with and without $O_2$-plasma treatment is application to the TCO for solar cells.

We have investigated the effects of hydrogen injection via in-situ gas addition ($O_2$, $H_2$, or $O_2$ + $H_2$ gas) and plasma post-treatment (Ar or Ar + H plasma) on material properties of ZnO that is considered to be as a channel layer in transparent thin film transistors. The variations in the electrical resistivity, optical transmittance and bandgap energy, and crystal quality of ZnO thin films were characterized in terms of the methods and conditions used in hydrogen injection. The resistivity was significantly decreased by injection of hydrogen; approximately $10^6\;{\Omega}cm$ for as-grown, $1.2\;{\times}\;10^2\;{\Omega}cm$ for in-situ with $O_2/H_2\;=\;2/3$ addition, and $0.1\;{\Omega}cm$ after Ar + H plasma treatment of 90 min. The average transmittance of ZnO films measured at a wavelength of 400-700 nm was gradually increased by increasing the post-treatment time in Ar + H plasma. The optical bandgap energy of ZnO films was almost monotonically increased by decreasing the $O_2/H_2$ ratio in in-situ gas addition or by increasing the post-treatment time in Ar + H plasma, while the post-treatment using Ar plasma hardly affected the bandgap energy. The role of hydrogen in ZnO was discussed by considering the creation and annihilation of oxygen vacancies as well as the formation of shallow donors by hydrogen.
