This paper is concerned with a reaction-diffusion logistic model. In [17], Lou observed that a heterogeneous environment with diffusion makes the total biomass greater than the total carrying capacity. Regarding the ratio of biomass to carrying capacity, Ni [10] raised a conjecture that the ratio has a upper bound depending only on the spatial dimension. For the one-dimensional case, Bai, He, and Li [1] proved that the optimal upper bound is 3. Recently, Inoue and Kuto [13] showed that the supremum of the ratio is infinity when the domain is a multi-dimensional ball. In this paper, we generalized the result of [13] to an arbitrary smooth bounded domain in ℝn, n ≥ 2. We use the sub-solution and super-solution method. The idea of the proof is essentially the same as the proof of [13] but we have improved the construction of sub-solutions. This is the complete answer to the conjecture of Ni.

In the present work, an electrowinning process in the LiCl-KCl/Cd system is considered to model and analyze the electrotransport of the actinide and rare-earth elements. A simple dynamic modeling of this process was performed by taking into account the material balances and diffusion-controlled electrochemical reactions in a diffusion boundary layer at an electrode interface between the molten salt electrolyte and liquid cadmium cathode. The proposed modeling approach was based on the half-cell reduction reactions of metal chloride occurring on the cathode. This model demonstrated a capability for the prediction of the concentration behaviors, a faradic current of each element and an electrochemical potential as function of the time up to the corresponding electrotransport satisfying a given applied current based on a galvanostatic electrolysis. The results of selected case studies including five elements (U, Pu, Am, La, Nd) system are shown, and a preliminary simulation is carried out to show how the model can be used to understand the electrochemical characteristics and provide better information for developing an advanced electrowinner.
Si/Mo multilayer anode consisting of active/inactive material was prepared using rf/dc magnetron sputtering. Molybdenum acts as a buffer against the volume change of the Silicon. Multilayer deposited on RT (reversible treatment) copper foil current collector to enhance adhesion between Silicon and copper foil. Deposited Silicon was identified as an amorphous. Amorphous has a relatively open structure than crystal structure, thus prevents the lattice expansion and has many diffusion paths of Li ion. When deposited time of Silicon and Molybdenum is 30 second and 2 second respectably, electrode has more capacity and good cycle stability. A 3000 nm thick multilayer was maintained 99% of the initial capacity (1624 $mAhg^{-1}$) after 100 cycles. As the increase of the multilayer thickness (4500 nm, 6000 nm), Si/Mo mutilayer anodes show aggravation cycle stability.
Coupling optical modulator which on the $LiTaO_3$ substrate is fabricated by using proton exchange method and self-aligned method. Proton exchange of proton diffusion method was applied to pattern a waveguide on $LiTaO_3$ substrate. The annealing at >$400^{\circ}C$ was carded out to control waveguide width and depth. The depths of the two annealed optical waveguides, which were measured by using .alpha.-step, were 1.435 K.angs. and 1.380 K.angs. Using .alpha.-step facility, we examined that the width of waveguides is increased from 5.mu.m to 6.45 .mu.m and 6.3.mu.m due to the annealing effects. The process of proton exchange was done at 150.deg. C for 120 min, >$200^{\circ}C$ for 60 min and annealing process was done at >$400^{\circ}C$ for 90 min, >$400^{\circ}C$ for 60 min. The high speed coupling optical modulator has very good figures of merits; the measured high frequency power were achieved.

Directional coupling optical switch which on the LiNbO$_3$ substrate is fabricated by using proton exchange method and self-aligned method. Proton exchange of proton diffusion method was applied to pattern a waveguide on LiNbO$_3$ substrate. The annealing at 400[$^{\circ}C$] was caroled out to control waveguide width and depth. The process of proton exchange was done at 150[$^{\circ}C$] for 120[min], 200[$^{\circ}C$] for 60[min] and annealing process was done at 400[$^{\circ}C$] for 90[min], 400[$^{\circ}C$] for 60[min]. The high speed directional coupling optical switch has very good figures of merits:the measured high frequency power were achieved.
Aluminum source in an Al-Fe coating reacts with molten carbonate and develops a protective $LiAlO_2$ layer on the coating surface during operation of molten carbonate fuel cells (MCFC). However, if aluminum content in an Al-Fe coating decreases to a critical level for some reasons during MCFC operation, a stable and continuous $LiAlO_2$ protective layer can no longer be maintained. The aluminum content in an Al-Fe coating can be depleted by two different processes; one is by corrosion reaction at the surface between the aluminum source in the coating and molten carbonate, and the other is inward-diffusion of aluminum atoms within the coating into a substrate. In these two respects, therefore, the decreasing rate of aluminum concentration in an Al-Fe coating was measured, and then the influences of these two aspects on the lifetime of Al-Fe coating were investigated, respectively.

Langasite(La3Ga5SiO14) is a new piezoelectric material which is similar to quartz, LN(LiNbO3) and LT(LiTaO3) in its acoustic behavior. In this study, pure Langasite and Langasite family groups were synthesized by the solid state reactions in air. For the synthesis process, diffusion species were investigated and sintered body of synthesized powders were studied on dielectric property according to surface microstructures.
Lithium ion batteries have been widely adopted as energy storage and the LIB global market has grown fastest. However, LIB players have struggled against maximizing energy density since commercial monolithic electrodes are limited by electrolyte depletion caused by long and tortuous Li-ion diffusion pathways. Recently, new strategies designing the structure of battery electrodes strive for creating fast Li-ion path and alleviating electrolyte depletion problem in monolithic electrodes. In this paper, given the fundamental and experimental approaches, we compare the monolithic to structured electrodes and demonstrate the ways to fabricate high energy, fast chargeable Lithium ion battery.

This study, electrolytic behavior of Thulium and Tm-Bi ion system was studied. The electrochemical behavior of Tm was studied in $LiCl-KCl-TmCl_3$ molten salts using electrochemical techniques Cyclic Voltammetry on tungsten electrodes at 773K. During the process of CV and SWV, intermetallic compound were observed Bi-Tm. Further study, in order to determine clarity of diffusion coefficient in this experiment, we will compare result of electrochemistry method and we also need to quantitative research.
The electrochemical behavior of dissolved hydrogen (H2) was investigated at a Pt electrode in a high temperature LiOH-H3BO3 solution. The diffusion current of the H2 oxidation was proportional to the concentration of the dissolved H2 as well as the reciprocal of the temperature. In the polarization curve, a potential region in which the oxidation current decreases despite an increase in the applied potential between the H2 oxidation and the water oxidation regions was observed. This potential region was interpreted as being caused by the formation of a Pt oxide layer. Using the properties of the Cl- ion that reduces the growth rate of the Pt oxide layer, it was confirmed that there is a correlation between the Cl- ion concentration and the transient current of the H2 oxidation.
