Spinel형 $Fe_3O_4$의 합성시 구조변화에 미치는 Ni 및 Rh의 영향 (Effects of Ni and Rh on the Structural Changes in Synthesis of the Spinel Type $Fe_3O_4$)

  • 이산화탄소를 분해할 목적으로 황산철과 수산화나트륨을 이용하여 $Fe_3O_4$를 합성하였다. 합성조건은 황산철과 수산화나트륨의 혼합당량비를 0.50${\~}$l.50까지로 반응온도는 $40^{\circ}C$, 반응시간은 20시간으로 하였다. 또한 혼합당량비를 1.00으로 고정하고, 여기에 $NiCl_2,\;RhCl_3$를 mole$\%$로 첨가하여 합성하였다. 이 합성된 $Fe_3O_4$의 구조변화에 미치는 Ni과 Rh의 영향을 XRD, SEM으로 비교 검토하였다.

  • Nickel ferrite ($NiFe_2O_4$) powder was prepared through the ceramic route by calcination of a stoichiometric mixture of nickel oxide (NiO) and iron oxide ($Fe_2O_3$). The pressed pellets of $NiFe_2O_4$ were isothermally reduced in pure hydrogen at 800, 900, 1000 and $1100^{\circ}C$. Based on thermogravimetric analysis, the reduction behavior and the kinetic reaction mechanisms of the synthesized ferrite were studied. The initial ferrite powder and various reduction products were characterized by XRD, SEM, reflected light microscope and VSM to reveal the effect of hydrogen reduction on the composition, microstructure, magnetic properties and reaction kinetics of the produced Fe-Ni alloy. Complete reduction of the $NiFe_2O_4$ was achieved with synthesis of homogeneous nanocrystalline Fe-Ni alloys. Arrhenius equation with the approved mathematical formulations for a gas-solid reaction was applied for calculating the activation energy ($E_a$) values and detecting the controlling reaction mechanism.

The Electronic Structures and Magnetism of Monolayer Fe on CuGaSe2(001)

  • Ferromagnet/Semiconductor heterostructures have attracted much attention because of their potential applications in spintronic devices. We investigated the electronic structures and magnetism of monolayer Fe on $CuGaSe_2(001)$ by using the all-electron full-potential linearized augmented plane-wave method within a generalized gradient approximation. We considered the monolayer Fe deposited on both the CuGa atoms terminated (CuGa-Term) and the Se atom terminated (Se-Term) surfaces of $CuGaSe_2(001)$. The calculated magnetic moment of the Fe atom on the CuGa-Term was about $2.90\;{{\mu}_B}$. Those of the Fe atoms on the Se-Term were in the range of $2.85-2.98\;{{\mu}_B}$. The different magnetic behaviors of the Fe atoms on two different surfaces were discussed using the calculated layer-projected density of states.

  • Ni를 Cd로 대치시켜 세라믹 소결법으로 합성한 Ni0.8Cd0.2Fe2O4 의 X-ray 회절선을 측정하여 구조를 확인하고, 형성된 결정체의 격자 상수를 조사하였다. 이 시료의 Mossbauer 스펙트럼을 80K-900K의 온도 영역에서 측정 분석하여 Mossbauer parameter의 온도 의존성과 Fe 이온에 대한 자료를 얻고, 이 자료를 토대로 Ni0.8Cd0.2Fe2O4 의 자기 전이 현상과 Curied 온도 Tc와 격자 비열 및 Debye 온도와 같은 물성을 조사하였다.

슬러리 코팅 공정으로 제조된 Fe 폼의 기공 특성에 미치는 Fe 및 Fe2O3 분말의 혼합 비율의 영향 (The Effect of Fe and Fe2O3 Powder Mixing Ratios on the Pore Properties of Fe Foam Fabricated by a Slurry Coating Process)

  • Metal foams have a cellular structure consisting of a solid metal containing a large volume fraction of pores. In particular, open, penetrating pores are necessary for industrial applications such as in high temperature filters and as a support for catalysts. In this study, Fe foam with above 90% porosity and 2 millimeter pore size was successfully fabricated by a slurry coating process and the pore properties were characterized. The Fe and $Fe_2O_3$ powder mixing ratios were controlled to produce Fe foams with different pore size and porosity. First, the slurry was prepared by uniform mixing with powders, distilled water and polyvinyl alcohol(PVA). After slurry coating on the polyurethane(PU) foam, the sample was dried at $80^{\circ}C$. The PVA and PU foams were then removed by heating at $700^{\circ}C$ for 3 hours. The debinded samples were subsequently sintered at $1250^{\circ}C$ with a holding time of 3 hours under hydrogen atmosphere. The three dimensional geometries of the obtained Fe foams with an open cell structure were investigated using X-ray micro CT(computed tomography) as well as the pore morphology, size and phase. The coated amount of slurry on the PU foam were increased with $Fe_2O_3$ mixing powder ratio but the shrinkage and porosity of Fe foams were decreased with $Fe_2O_3$ mixing powder ratio.

$FeAl/SiC_p$ 복합재료의 공정변수에 따른 플라즈마 질화 특성 (Effect of Process Parameters on Plasma Nitriding Properties of $FeAl/SiC_p$ Composites)

  • This study was to analyse the relationship between process parameters of the sintered composite and plasma nitriding properties with pulsed DC plasma. Fe-40at%$SiC_p$ composites of full density were fabricated by hot pressing at 1100~$1150^{\circ}C$. Sintered Fe-40at%Al and Fe-40at%$Al/SiC_p$ alloys were nitrided under pulsed DC plasma. Excellent surface hardness in the FeAl alloys could be obtained by plasma nitriding. ($H_v$ :100gf, diffusion layer : 1100~$1450kg/mm^2$, matrix : 330~$360kg/mm^2$) The wear resistance of $FeAl/SiC_p$ composites were improved about by 4~6times than FeAl and nitrided $FeAl/SiC_p$ were improved about 2 times than $FeAl/SiC_p$ matrix.

Fe_2O_3-CaO-SiO_2$계 결정화 유리의 제조 및 특성(I) (Characterization and Preparation of Glass-Ceramics in the System Fe_2O_3-CaO-SiO_2$ (I))

  • The ferrimagnetic glass-ceramics in the system Fe2O3-CaO-SiO2 for hyperthermia were investigated. Glasses could be prepared up to the content of 40 wt% of Fe2O3 and below the weight ratio of 1.0 of CaO/SiO2. The maximum saturation magnetization and the maximum coercive force were 29.85 emu/g and 340.1 Oe respectively, for a glass 40Fe2O3.20CaO.40SiO2 composition heat-treated at 95$0^{\circ}C$ for 8 hours. And for a glass 40Fe2O3.30CaO.30SiO2 composition the maximum saturation magnetization and the maximum coercive force were 18.47 emu/g and 374.4 Oe heat-treated at 1,00$0^{\circ}C$ and 90$0^{\circ}C$ for 8 hours respectively. The maximum hysteresis loss was 1,726.3 cal/g for a glass 40Fe2O3.20CaO.40SiO2 composition heat-treated at 95$0^{\circ}C$ for 8 hours. It was found that the ferrimagnetic Fe2O3.CaO.SiO2 glass-ceramics was little injurious to human body as results of biocompatibility test and biotoxicity test.

Co, Fe가 diopside 결정색 변화에 미치는 영향 (The influence of Co and Fe on the color change of diopside crystals)

  • 본 연구에서는 도예가들이 경험적으로 제조하여 사용하는 diopside 결정유약에 $Co_3O_4$$Fe_2O_3$를 첨가하였을 경우 Co와 Fe이 유약과 diopside 결정의 발색에 미치는 영향을 연구하고자 하였다. 그 결과 diopside 결정유약에 $Co_3O_4$를 넣을 경우 유약의 색상은 blue색을 띠며 결정의 색상은 diopside 결정에 Co가 고용되면서 pastel violet색을 띠었으며 diopside 결정유약에 $Fe_2O_3$를 넣을 경우 유약의 색상은 brown색을, 결정의 색상은 diopside 결정에 Fe가 고용되면서 goldenrod색을 띠었다. 그리고 diopside 결정유약 표면에 석출된 결정은 diopside 결정과 diopside precursor로 이루어져 있었다. 또한 유지시간이 길어짐에 따라 diopside precursor의 량은 줄고 diopside 결정량은 많아졌다. Diopside 결정에는 Fe보다는 Co가 더 잘 고용되었으며, Co가 고용될 경우 diopside 결정성은 더 좋아져 특성 peak의 강도가 높아졌다. 그리고 Fe이 고용되면 특성 peak의 강도는 낮아지면서 diopside 결정은 부분적으로 와해됨을 알 수 있었다.

CVD법을 이용한 $\alpha$-Fe$_2$O$_3$박막 가스센서의 제조 및 물성평가 (Fabrication and characterization of $\alpha$-Fe$_2$O$_3$ thin film gas sensor by CVD)

  • 화학기상증착법 (CVD) 으로 $\alpha$-Fe$_2$O$_3$ 박막가스센서를 제조하여 NO가스에 대한 검지감도 특성을 조사하였다. 150~$250^{\circ}C$로 증착온도를 변화시키면서 $\alpha$-Fe$_2$O$_3$ 박막을 증착하였을 때 $175^{\circ}C$와 20$0^{\circ}C$에서 증착한 박막은 $\alpha$-Fe$_2$O$_3$상이 나타났으나 $250^{\circ}C$에서 증착한 시편에서는 ${\gamma}$-Fe$_2$O$_3$상이 나타났다. X-선 회절분석으로 증착 및 열처리 조건에 따른 결정립의 크기변화를 조사한 결과 증착온도가 증가하거나 열처리시에 결정리이 성장함을 알 수 있었다. 가스검지감도 측정결과 175$^{\circ}C$에서 증착한 시편의 감도가 가장 좋은 것으로 나타났고, 이때 NO 가스 250ppm에 대한 검지감도는 3.2, 100ppm일때의 응답시간은 12초였다.

비정질 Nd-Fe-C 자석에 미치는 Al 첨가의 영향 (The effect on small Al addition of the melt-spun Nd-Fe-C magnent)

  • For melt-spun Fe-Nd-C alloy variation of phase development and magnetic properties with the variety of small Al addition was investigated. As the amount of Al addition increased the amorphization of Fe$_{14}$/Nd$_{2}$/C or $\alpha$-Fe was retarded and the residual Fe$_{14}$/Nd$_{2}$/C or $\alpha$-Fe did not eliminated after heat treatment resulting in poor coercivities of the ribbons. The grain size of Fe$_{14}$/Nd$_{2}$/C increased with the increase of Al addition and the abnormal grain was often found out in the ribbon heat treated for more then 10 min. The enhancement of coercivity was the highest with the addition of 0.5at%Al. As the amount of Al addition increase the coercivities dropped rapidly. The highest coercivity obtained so far is 13.9kOe which about 16% higher than that(11.2kOe) obtained from the Al-free specimen.
