  • When constructing a component based system, It is understood that identifying reusable and independent business components is of utmost importance. However, according to conventional component based developing methodologies, most of developers depend on their experience and/or intuition for identification of business components. Furthermore, there are no criteria to evaluate whether the identified business components are more independently defined or not. Therefore, we propose a component identification metrics to apply to component properties In order to complement the difficulties of identifying business components through developers' experience and/or intuition. The metrics defined are the criteria for identifying the business Components and/or for evaluating the Identified components. We propose both a cohesion metric, and a coupling metric, to which component properties are applied, wherein those properties can be understood by high cohesion in, and low coupling between, components. Moreover, we propose an independence metric that can evaluate the degree of independence for a particular component by ratio of the cohesion and coupling of components. The metrics that we propose are applied to case study which demonstrates the identification of more independent business components and the validity of our metrics.

  • We shall study the following. Let 𝜙 be an expansive flow on a compact TVS-cone metric space (X, d). First, we give some equivalent ways of defining expansiveness. Second, we show that expansiveness is conjugate invariance. Finally, we prove that lim sup ${\frac{1}{t}}$ log v(t) ≤ h(𝜙), where v(t) denotes the number of closed orbits of 𝜙 with a period 𝜏 ∈ [0, t] and h(𝜙) denotes the topological entropy. Remark that in 1972, R. Bowen and P. Walters had proved this three statements for an expansive flow on a compact metric space [?].

  • This paper deals with a general contraction. Two fixed-point theorems for a limit weak-compatible pair of a multi-valued map and a self map on a D-metric space have been established. These results improve significantly, the main results of Dhage, Jennifer and Kang [5] by reducing its assumption and generalizing its contraction simultaneously. At the same time some results of Singh, Jain and Jain [12] are generalized from a self map to a pair of a set-valued and a self map. Theorems of Veerapandi and Rao [16] get generalized and improved by these results. All the results of this paper are new.

  • The purpose of this paper is to optimize the number of source places required for the unique representation of the destination using the tools of graph theory. A subset S of vertices of a graph G is called a rational resolving set of G if for each pair u, v ∈ V - S, there is a vertex s ∈ S such that d(u/s) ≠ d(v/s), where d(x/s) denotes the mean of the distances from the vertex s to all those y ∈ N[x]. A rational resolving set is called minimal rational resolving set if no proper subset of it is a rational resolving set. In this paper we study varieties of minimal rational resolving sets defined on the basis of its complements and compute the minimum and maximum cardinality of such sets, respectively called as lower and upper rational metric dimensions for power of a path Pn analysing various possibilities.

  • In this article, we shall prove a common fixed point theorem for two weakly compatible self-maps 𝒫 and 𝔔 on a dislocated metric space (M, d*) satisfying the following ξ-weakly expansive condition: d*(𝒫c, 𝒫d) ≥ d* (𝔔c, 𝔔d) + ξ(∧(𝔔c, 𝔔d)), ∀ c, d ∈ M, where $${\wedge}(Qc,\;Qd)=max\{d^*(Qc,\;Qd),\;d^*(Qc,\;\mathcal{P}c),\;d^*(Qd,\;\mathcal{P}d),\;\frac{d^*(Qc,\;\mathcal{P}c){\cdot}d^*(Qd,\;\mathcal{P}d)}{1+d^*(Qc,\;Qd)},\;\frac{d^*(Qc,\;\mathcal{P}c){\cdot}d^*(Qd,\;\mathcal{P}d)}{1+d^*(\mathcal{P}c,\;\mathcal{P}d)}\}$$. Also, we have proved common fixed point theorems for the above mentioned weakly compatible self-maps along with E.A. property and (CLR) property. An illustrative example is also provided to support our results.

  • The purpose of this paper, using the idea of intuitionistic fuzzy set due to Atanassov [2], we define the notion of intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces (see, [1]) due to Kramosil and Michalek [17] and Jungck's common fixed point theorem ([11]) is generalized to intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces. Further, we first formulate the definition of weakly commuting and R-weakly commuting mappings in intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces and prove the intuitionistic fuzzy version of Pant's theorem ([21]).

  • Using the concept of a g-monotone mapping we prove some common fixed point theorems for g-non-decreasing mappings which satisfy some generalized nonlinear contractions in partially ordered complete quasi b-metric spaces. The new theorems are generalizations of very recent fixed point theorems due to L. Ciric, N. Cakic, M. Rojovic, and J. S. Ume, [Monotone generalized nonlinear contractions in partailly ordered metric spaces, Fixed Point Theory Appl. (2008), article, ID-131294] and R. P. Agarwal, M. A. El-Gebeily, and D. • This paper proposes a repeat-back jamming signal detection scheme using a correlation ratio test metric of a combined pseudo-random noise signal for global navigation satellite systems. The correlation ratio test metric allows for the monitoring of possible distortions in the signal correlation. The proposed scheme is a modified version of the correlation ratio test metric to detect a repeat-back jamming signal in a multipath environment. Through a Monte-Carlo simulation, it is confirmed that the proposed scheme detects almost the whole case, which is received a repeat-back jamming signal under the 6 dB jamming to signal power ratio.
