In industries, shipping is an important issue in improving the forecasting accuracy of sales. This paper introduces a hybrid method and plural methods are compared. Focusing the equation of exponential smoothing method (ESM) that is equivalent to (1, 1) order autoregressive-moving-average (ARMA) model equation, a new method of estimating the smoothing constant in ESM had been proposed previously by us which satisfies minimum variance of forecasting error. Generally, the smoothing constant is selected arbitrarily. However, this paper utilizes the above stated theoretical solution. Firstly, we make estimation of ARMA model parameter and then estimate the smoothing constant. Thus, theoretical solution is derived in a simple way and it may be utilized in various fields. Furthermore, combining the trend removing method with this method, we aim to improve forecasting accuracy. This method is executed in the following method. Trend removing by the combination of linear and 2nd order nonlinear function and 3rd order nonlinear function is executed to the original production data of two kinds of bread. Genetic algorithm is utilized to search the optimal weight for the weighting parameters of linear and nonlinear function. For comparison, the monthly trend is removed after that. Theoretical solution of smoothing constant of ESM is calculated for both of the monthly trend removing data and the non-monthly trend removing data. Then forecasting is executed on these data. The new method shows that it is useful for the time series that has various trend characteristics and has rather strong seasonal trend. The effectiveness of this method should be examined in various cases.

Domestic railway station calculates average number of passenger per day by considering future regional society and development of industrial economy etc, is carrying out designs on railway station scale. However, problems are being suggested situationally because selected average passenger data does not consider passengers having been diversified for a year. For representative example, confusion of Gwangju-Songjeong Railway Station got worse due to passengers whose number is more than original plan since the opening. Therefore, this study quotes the concept of design hourly factor using in designing roads to consider passengers having been diversified for a year in railway field. In order to calculate factor, collecting railway passenger data and also estimate, reliability verification were executed by using exponential model and 3rd equation model. As a result of deducing design hourly factor through inflection point calculation, utilizing exponen tial model is analyzed to well reflect the value of design hourly factor on railway passengers.
The use of smart dampers to optimally control the response of structures is on the increase. To maximize the potential use of such damper systems, their accurate modeling and assessment of their performance is of vital interest. In this study, the performance of a controllable fluid dashpot damper, in terms of damper forces, damper dynamic range and damping force hysteretic loops, respectively, is studied mathematically. The study employs a damper Bingham-Maxwell (BingMax) model whose mathematical formulation is developed using a Fourier series technique. The technique treats this one-dimensional Navier-Stokes's momentum equation as a linear superposition of initial-boundary value problems (IBVPs): boundary conditions, viscous term, constant Direct Current (DC) induced fluid plug and fluid inertial term. To hold the formulation applicable, the DC current level to the damper is supplied as discrete constants. The formulation and subsequent simulation are validated with experimental results of a commercially available magneto rheological (MR) dashpot damper (Lord model No's RD-1005-3) subjected to a sinusoidal stroke motion using a 'SCHENK' material testing machine in the Materials Laboratory at the University of Technology, Sydney.
This paper presents an implementation of selective harmonic elimination (SHE) modulation for a single-phase 13-level transistor-clamped H-bridge (TCHB) based cascaded multilevel inverter. To determine the optimum switching angle of the SHE equations, the Newton-Raphson method is used in solving the transcendental equation describing the fundamental and harmonic components. The proposed SHE scheme used the relationship between the angles and a sinusoidal reference waveform based on voltage-angle equal criteria. The proposed SHE scheme is evaluated through simulation and experimental results. The digital modulator based-SHE scheme using a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) is described and has been implemented on an Altera DE2 board. The proposed SHE is efficient in eliminating the $3^{rd}$, $5^{th}$, $7^{th}$, $9^{th}$ and $11^{th}$ order harmonics, which validates the analytical results. From the results, it can be seen that the adopted 13-level inverter produces a higher quality with a better harmonic profile and sinusoidal shape of the stepped output waveform.

To save energy consumption, it is proposed to operate a discharge lamp with high frequency power. When designing a high frequency operating circuit containing a discharge lamp, the character of a lamp may be needed. And there are various methods to get and models for this. In this study, to present the volt-ampere character of a fluorescent lamp which gives a good saving effect, the nonlinear resistance model is suggested. And the validity of the model is verified by applying the model for the circuits with inductor ballast and capacifor ballast. This model, in contrast with the others, can be easily obtainable. And for comparison, the model using a modified Francis equation is examined. The method used in this study can be basically applied to the other discharge lamps. As a result, 1) Approximated 3rd order polynomial of nonlinear resistance model gives a good simulation result. 2) When operating in high frequency, the model using a modified Francis equation with constant coefficients can't be applied.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating role of school adjustment in the relationship between adolescents' mastery goal orientation and life satisfaction, and the differences according to gender in the relationship. Methods: The participants were 1,947 students from the 3rd, 4th, and 5th waves of the Korean Child Youth Panel Study(KCYPS). The data were analyzed with structural equation modeling(SEM) and multiple group analysis. Results: First, school adjustment of 1st graders in middle school mediated the relation between mastery goal orientation of 6th graders in elementary school and life satisfaction of 2nd graders in middle school. Second, the differences in gender were confirmed. The effect of mastery goal orientation of 6th graders in elementary school on school adjustment of 1st graders in middle school is higher for boys. In contrast, the effect of school adjustment of 1st graders in middle school on life satisfaction of 2nd graders in middle school is higher for girls. Conclusion/Implications: The results of this study suggested that mastery goal orientation before entering middle school and school adjustment after entering middle school could be important variables to increase adolescents' life satisfaction. Also, it is necessary to consider gender difference for long-term intervention for improving adolescent life satisfaction.

In direct contact power transmission from primary driver to a secondary follower system, one of the important problems is the vibration transmission. In some applications the reduction of vibration level at the follower as low as possible is utmost important. The magnetically coupled power transmission system is often used for this purpose. In this paper, we report the results of a study on the nonlinear torsional vibration transmission characteristics of the rotating system with face-type magnet coupling. The equation of motion is solved analytically up to 3rd harmonics. The frictional force of the sliding bearing which is used to support the follower shaft is considered as the damping term. Numerical calculations are carried out by the Newton-Raphson method, and the calculated results are compared with the experiment for face-type magnet coupling. The experimental result shows that the reasonant frequency of the magnet coupling is very low and is in good agreement with the theoretical result when the average damping constant per unit area of the sliding bearing is 0.5kg*f*sec/cm$^{3}$.

The operational characteristics of flux-lock type high-Tc superconducting fault currentlimiters(HTSC-FCLs) was described and currents equation at each coil was derived from equivalent circuit. $YBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_{7-x}$(YBCO) thin film was used as the current limiting elements of the flux-lock type HTSC-FCL, which were fabricated by etching the YBCO thin film into 2 mm wide and 420 mm long meander line consisting of foureen stripes with different length. The 2nd peak on the current of coil 2 after a fault disappeared by current of the 3rd winding, which was installed in the flux-lock type HTSC-FCL.
This empirical study takes the activation approach for the competitive power of Korean shipping companies in the Korea-China liner routes. Data for this study were collected from Korea/ China/ 3rd flag shipping companies through the 500 questionnaires. The data of 250 respondents were analyzed statistically to verify the hypotheses and to induce Regression Equation which could predicts the influencing level of the determinants to competitive advantage for Korean shipping companies on Korea-China Liner Shipping Routes. The purpose of this study was to examine the longitudinal relationships between Korean adolescents'mobile phone dependency, trajectories of depression, and self-regulated learning abilities. To achieve these goals, structural equation modeling analysis was conducted, using the 3rd, 5th and 7th wave of the data on 4th graders taken from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey. The results can be summarized as follows. First, growth-curve longitudinal analysis indicates that depression in 6th through 10th grade has increased. Second, mobile phone dependency among adolescents at 6th grade has a significant effect on both the initial value and the rate of change in depression. Also, the initial value and the rate of change in depression have significant relationships with mobile phone dependency at 10th grade. Moreover, both increased levels of mobile phone dependency and the rate of change in depression significantly influence adolescents'self-regulated learning abilities at 10th grade. Based on a longitudinal data set, these findings demonstrate the causal relationships between Korean adolescents'trajectories of depression and their mobile phone dependency. The findings also provide a comprehensive framework with implications for adolescents'development through an understanding of the relationships between adolescents'depression and mobile phone dependency, which impact their self-regulated learning abilities.
