HVPE 방법으로 성장한 Alpha-Ga2O3의 특성 분석 (Characterization of Alpha-Ga2O3 Template Grown by Halide Vapor Phase Epitaxy)

  • We demonstrated a crack-free ${\alpha}-Ga_2O_3$ on sapphire substrate by horizontal halide vapor phase epitaxy (HVPE). Oxygen-and gallium chloride-synthesized Ga metal and HCl were used as the precursors, and $N_2$ was used as the carrier gas. The HCl flow and growth temperature were controlled in the ranges of 10~30 sccm and $450{\sim}490^{\circ}C$, respectively. The surface of ${\alpha}-Ga_2O_3$ template grown at $470^{\circ}C$ was flat and the root-mean-square (RMS) roughness was ~2 nm. The full width at half maximum (FWHM) values for the symmetric-plane diffractions, were as small as 50 arcsec and those for the asymmetric-plane diffractions were as high as 1,800 arcsec. The crystal quality of ${\alpha}-Ga_2O_3$ on sapphire can be controlled by varying the HCl flow rate and growth temperature.

  • The flow around a rotating circular cylinder near a plane wall is investigated by the measurement of the lift acting on the cylinder and by the flow visualization using the hydrogen bubble technique in the circulating water tank. The experimental parameters are the rotating direction of the cylinder, the space ratios H/D($H/D=0.05{\sim}0.5$) between cylinder and plane wall and the velocity ratios ${\alpha}({\alpha}=0{\sim}{\pm}2.0)$. In the case of clockwise, the lift on the rotating circular cylinder was increased with the reduction of the space ratios and with the velocity ratios, the upper separation point was more shifted in the rotating direction with them. In the case of anticlockwise, the absolute value of the lift on the rotating circular cylinder was increased with the space ratios and with the velocity ratios, the lower separation point was more shifted in the rotating direction with them.

액상소결한 탄화규소의 집합조직 발달에 관한 연구 (A Study on Texture Development in Liquid-Phase Sintered Silicon Carbide)

  • Development of texture in SiC materials by hot-pressing and subsequent annealing was studied. Crystallographic texture type was characterized by measuring X-ray pole figures on the perpendicular plane to the hot-pressing direction. Observed all pole figures were nearly axially symmetric (fiber texture). In case of ${\beta}$-SiC materials, the pole density of basal plane (0004) increased as annealing time increased, in contrast, other planes (hkil) of ${\beta}$-SiC materials and all planes of ${\alpha}$-SiC materials nearly remained unchanged. In the case of ${\beta}$-SiC materials, therefore, a weak texture of (0001) plane at the normal direction took place in the 8h annealed samples, resulting from grian growth. The fracture toughness values of ${\alpha}$-SiC materials measured in both planes parallel and perpendicular to the hot-pressing direction were very similar. However, the fracture toughness of ${\beta}$-SiC materials measured parallel to the hot-pressing direction were higher than that measured perpendicular to the hot-pressing derection, relatively, because of the texture and the microstructure anisotropy.

  • Far-zone electric fields radiated by a coaxial cable through an aperture in a perfectly conducting ground plane are calculated utilizing the dyadic Green's function and vector wave functions. In this paper the outer radius $\alpha$ is assumed to be less than 0.02 so that the aperture fields is well approximated by the dominant TEM mode in the coaxial cable. The result of present approach is compared with the readily obtained solution. The present solution is valid outside of the spherical regions with radius `$\alpha$' from the center of coaxial cable.

텅스텐 결정면의 질소 흡착에 관한 연구 : I. (210)면 (Nitrogen Adsorption on the Stepped Planes of Tungsten: I.(210) Plane)

  • W(210)면의 질소 흡착에 의한 일함수의 변화, heat of desorption 및 흡착 site에 대하여 조사하였다. 텅스텐(210)면에 질소가 흡착될 때 흡착율에 따라 일함수는 증가하다가 최대 변화량 0.29eV에서 포화되었다. TDS결과로부터 이 면은 진소에 대하여 적어도 3개의 흡착 site가 있음을 알았고 high dose에서 흡착되는 $\beta$1 state까지 포함하면 모두 4개의 흡착 site 가 있으며 이 흡착 site들 중 $\alpha$1 state를 제외하고는 모두 일함수를 증가시키는 site임을 알았다. 질소는 W(210)면의 step((100)면)과 terrace((110)면)의 중 step에 흡착되고 독립된, 즉 무한히 큰 W(100)면의 $\alpha$1, $\alpha$2, 그리고 $\beta$2 state에 대응되는 흡착 site에 흡착된 질소의 dipole moment의 방향은 W(210)면의 step((100)면의 일부)의 $\alpha$1, $\alpha$2, 그리고 $\beta$2 state에 대응되는 흡착 site에 흡착된 질소의 dipole moment의 방향과 반대방향임을 알았다.

회전축 정렬불량을 가지는 유연회전디스크의 유한요소법을 이용한 시간응답해석 (Finite Element Analysis for Time Response of a Flexible Spinning Disk with Translating Misalignment)

  • Using the finite element method, this study investigates the dynamic time responses of a flexible spinning disk of which axis of rotation is misaligned with the axis of symmetry. The misalignment between the axes of symmetry and rotation is one of the major vibration sources in optical disk drives such as CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW and DVD drives. Based upon the Kirchhoff plate theory and the von-Karman strain theory, three coupled equations of motion for the misaligned disk are obtained: two of the equations are for the in-plane motion while the other is for the out-of-plane motion. After transforming these equations into two weak forms for the in-plane and out-of-plane motions, the weak forms are discretized by using newly defined annular sector finite elements. Applying the generalized-$\alpha$ time integration method to the discretized equations, the time responses and the displacement distributions are computed and then the effects of the misalign ment on the responses and the distributions are analyzed. The computation results show that the misalignment has an influence on the magnitudes of the in-plane displacements and it results in the amplitude modulation or the beat phenomenon in the time responses of the out-of-plane displacement.

BTC 파라메타를 이용한 고압축 영상부호화 (High Compression Image Coding with BTC Parameters)

  • 본 논문에서는 4${\times}$4 블록 절단부호화를 근사화 파라메타 {($Y_{\alpha},\;Y_{\beta}),\;P_{{\beta}/{\beta}}$}에 의한 블록 근사화 및 그 파라메타 부호화의 두 과정으로 나누고, 각 과정에 대해 연구하였다. 제안된 방식은 일단 블록을 평탄 및 에지블록으로 분류하여 평탄 블록은 한개의 근사화 레벨 Y로만 근사화하도록 하였다. 에지블록의 라벨 평면 $P_{{\beta}/{\beta}}$는 준비된 32개의 표준 패턴을 이용하여 근사화하도록 노력하였고, 근사화가 어려운 것은 그대로 전송하였으며, 근사화 레벨 $Y_{\alpha},\;Y_{\beta}$는 이미 전송된 라벨 평면을 이용하여 예측 양자화한 후 Huffman 부호화하도록 하였다. 본 방식의 성능은 배경부분에서의 표현에는 약간의 문제가 있는 것으로 나타나지만 SNR 면에서는 복잡한 변환 부호화 방식보다도 좋은 결과를 보이며, 특히 에지가 잘 보존되었다.

X선 회절을 이용한 자동차 압연강의 잔류응력 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Measurement of Residual Stress in Rolled Steel for Automobile using X-ray Diffraction)

  • In textured material, diffraction angle $2{\theta}$ usually shows a nonlinear relation against $sin^2{\psi}$ due to elastic anisotropy of crystals. SPHD and SPCD steel is cold-rolled carbon steel for automobile. The characteristics X-ray for stress measurement is Cr $K_{\alpha}\;and\;Mo\;K_{\alpha}$ characteristic X-ray. The $2{\theta}-sin^2{\psi}$ diagram under elastic strain seems to have a linear behavior using regression line of data but has a nonlinear behavior in distribution of data by Cr $K_{\alpha}$ characteristic X-ray. As the plastic strain of specimen increases, the nonlinearity of $2{\theta}$ with respect to $sin^2{\psi}$ increases remarkably. On the other hand, the diffraction angle $2{\theta}$ by Mo $K_{\alpha}$ characteristic X-ray shows a good linearity on $2{\theta}-sin^2{\psi}$ diagram under plastic strain as well as elastic strain. Therefore, this paper presents the measurement of residual stress in cold-rolled carbon steel for automobile using penetration depth of Mo $K_{\alpha1}$ characteristic X-ray and multiplicity factor of crystal diffraction plane.

선형탄성해석과 mα-tangent방법을 이용한 배관 한계하중 평가 적용성 (Applicability of the mα-tangent Method to Estimate Plastic Limit Loads of Elbows and Branch Junctions)

  • 본 연구에서는 선형탄성 유한요소해석 방법과 $m_{\alpha}-tangent$ 방법으로 한계하중을 계산하고 이를 기존의 연구들에 의해 제시된 한계하중 식들과 비교하였다. 해석의 대상은 배관계의 대표 형상인 곡관과분기관을 선정하였다. 곡관과 분기관의 형상 변수를 다양하게 바꿔가면서 $m_{\alpha}-tangent$ 방법의 적용가능성을 살펴보았다. 하중은 내압하중과 면내굽힘하중을 각각 고려하였으며 곡관의 경우에는 기존의 한계하중식과 $m_{\alpha}-tangent$방법이 비교적 잘 일치함을 확인하였다. 하지만 분기관의 경우 형상의 특수성으로 인해 뚜렷한 경향 없이 기존의 한계하중 식과 $m_{\alpha}-tangent$ 방법이 일치하지 않는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 $m_{\alpha}-tangent$ 방법이 불연속부의 응력집중현상에 의해 왜곡된 결과를 갖기 때문으로 보인다.
