Since Jiuzhang Suanshu, the main tools in the theory of right triangles, known as Gougushu in East Asia were algebraic identities about three sides of a right triangle derived from the Pythagorean theorem. Using tianyuanshu up to siyuanshu, Song-Yuan mathematicians could skip over those identities in the theory. Chinese Mathematics in the 17-18th centuries were mainly concerned with the identities along with the western geometrical proofs. Jeong Yag-yong (1762-1836), a well known Joseon scholar and writer of the school of Silhak, noticed that those identities can be derived through algebra and then wrote Gugo Wonlyu (勾股源流) in the early 19th century. We show that Jeong reveals the algebraic structure of polynomials with the three indeterminates in the book along with their order structure. Although the title refers to right triangles, it is the first pure algebra book in Joseon mathematics, if not in East Asia.

In 1613 the official-scholar LI Zhi-zao (李之藻) of the Ming Dynasty, in collaboration with the Italian Jesuit Matteo RICCI (利瑪竇), compiled the treatise Tongwen Suanzhi (同文算指). This is the first book which transmitted into China in a systematic and comprehensive way the art of written calculation that had been in common practice in Europe since the sixteenth century. This paper tries to see what pedagogical lessons can be gleaned from the book, in particular on the basic operations in arithmetic and related applications in various types of problems which form the content of modern day mathematics in elementary school education.

This paper is concerned with the convergence of double trigonometric series and Fourier series. Since the beginning of the 20th century, many authors have studied on those series. Also, Ferenc $M{\acute{o}}ricz$ has studied the convergence of double trigonometric series and double Fourier series so far. We consider $L^p(T^2)$-convergence results focused on the Ferenc $M{\acute{o}}ricz^{\prime}s$ studies from the second half of the 20th century up to now. In section 2, we reintroduce some of Ferenc $M{\acute{o}}ricz^{\prime}s$ remarkable theorems. Also we investigate his several important results. In conclusion, we investigate his research trends and the simple minor genealogy from J. B. Joseph Fourier to Ferenc $M{\acute{o}}ricz$. In addition, we present the research minor lineage of his study on $L^p(T^2)$-convergence.

Problem sovling skill is one of the core skills in mathematics education. To improve students' problem solving skill, the project approach or project based learning has been developed and applied. A teaching and learning strategy utilizing 'project' encourages students to understand the problem embedded in the project, find and reflect the solution, which might be effective in improving students' problem solving skill. The present study systematically reviews literature regarding project based learning and analyzes the characteristics of project. The findings from the systematic review illuminate an appropriate approach to apply project based learning in mathematics classrooms.

In this paper, we explore about Korean early childhood mathematics education history. Actually, mathematics education history is mathematics education curriculum's history. Korean education curriculum has been influenced by the US and European prominent educators: Montessori, Piaget, Bruno, and Dewey, etc. We investigate how those philosophy and thoughts were adopted in Korean early childhood mathematics education curriculums from 1st to 2015 amended curriculum. Also, we can see that NCTM's content standards and Korean Nuri curriculum are the same in the basic concepts: number and operations, space and shapes, measurement, understanding of patterns and data collection.
