In China and Joseon, the measurement of the areas of various plane figures is a very important subject for mathematical officials because it is connected directly with tax problems. Most of mathematical texts in China and Joseon contained Chinese character '田', which means a field for farming, in title name for parts that dealt with problems of areas and treated as areas of plane figures. The form of mathematical texts in Joseon is identical with those in China because mathematicians in Joseon referred to texts in China. Gyeong SeonJing and Hong JeongHa also referred to Chinese texts. But they added their interpretations or investigated new methods for the measurement of areas. In this paper, we investigate the history of the measurement of areas in Joseon, which described in two books MukSaJibSanBeob and GuIlJib, with comparing some mathematical texts in China.

This study takes a look at Polya's analysis on Archimedes' "The Method" from a math-historical perspective. We, based on the elaboration of Polya's analysis, investigate the analytic geometric characteristics of Archimedes' "The Method" and discuss the way of using the characteristics in education of school calculus. So this study brings up the educational need of approach of teaching the definite integral by clearly disclosing the transition from length, area, volume etc into the length as an area function under a curve. And this study suggests the approach of teaching both merit and deficiency of the indivisibles method, and the educational necessity of making students realizing that the strength of analytic geometry lies in overcoming deficiency of the indivisibles method by dealing with the relation of variation and rate of change by means of algebraic expression and graph.

G. H. Hardy laid the foundation of classical studies on double Fourier series at the beginning of the 20th century. In this paper we are concerned not only with Fourier series but more generally with trigonometric series. We consider Norlund means and Cesaro summation method for double Fourier Series. In section 2, we investigate the classical results on the summability and the convergence of double Fourier series from G. H. Hardy to P. Sjolin in the mid-20th century. This study concerns with the $L^1(T^2)$-convergence of double Fourier series fundamentally. In conclusion, there are the features of the classical results by comparing and reinterpreting the theorems about double Fourier series mutually.

Computer is a modern day invention integrated with mathematics, engineering, and logics. The purpose of this study is to examine mathematicians' roles and influences on the invention, establishment, and developments of computers, particularly in the areas of hardware and software, and to emphasize the importance of mathematics on the computer sciences. To implement these purposes, this study firstly examines the mathematicians based on the period. Secondly from the mathematicians' roles in the development of programming, the correlation between mathematics and computers has been investigated. Finally, mathematicians who gave influence on establishing the current development of computer science are highlighted.
