It is importent to have the switching frequency of power supplies increase in order to reduce their size and weight. But according to increasing the switching frequency, there are several defacts - that is switching losses, high voltage/current stresses and conduction losses and so on. That's why soft switching method was proposed. This paper presents the simulation and analysis of the new proposed Full bridge Zero-Voltage-Transition PWM DC-DC converter for developing that unit. This circuit doesen't increase the voltage and current stresses of main MOSFET switches. Voltage type quasi-resorent method is applied and expected high effenciency. Switching frequency is 100KHz and main switches are MOSFET.
A sensorless motor control scheme with conventional back-Electro Motive Force (EMF) sensing based on zero crossing point (ZCP) detection has been widely used in various applications. However, there are several problems with the conventional method for effectively driving sensorless brushless motors. For example, a phase mismatch of 30 degrees occurs between the ZCP and commutation time. Additionally, most of the motor speed/current controls are achieved based on a pulse width modulation (PWM) method, which generates significant noise that distracts the back-EMF sensing. Due to the PWM switching, the ZCP is not deterministic, and thus the efficiency of the motor is reduced because the phase transition points become uncertain. Moreover, the motor driving performance is degraded at a low speed range due to the effect of PWM noise. To solve these problems, an improved back-EMF detection method based on a differential line method is proposed in this paper. In addition, the proposed sensorless BLDC driver addresses the problems by using a variable voltage driver generated from a buck converter. The variable voltage driver does not generate the PWM switching noise. Consequently, the proposed sensorless motor driver improves 1) the signal-to-noise ratio of back-EMF, 2) the operation range of a BLDC motor, and 3) the torque characteristics. The proposed sensorless motor driver is verified through simulations and experiments.
This paper studies a soft switching DC/DC converter to achieve zero voltage switching (ZVS) for all switches under a wide range of load condition and input voltage. Two three-level PWM circuits with the same power switches are adopted to reduce the voltage stress of MOSFETs at $V_{in}/2$ and achieve load current sharing. Thus, the current stress and power rating of power semiconductors at the secondary side are reduced. The series-connected transformers are adopted in each three-level circuit. Each transformer can be operated as an inductor to smooth the output current or a transformer to achieve the electric isolation and power transfer from the input side to the output side. Therefore, no output inductor is needed at the secondary side. Two center-tapped rectifiers connected in parallel are used at the secondary side to achieve load current sharing. Due to the resonant behavior by the resonant inductance and resonant capacitance at the transition interval, all switches are turned on at ZVS. Experiments based on a 1kW prototype are provided to verify the performance of proposed converter.
A zero-voltage-transition(ZVT) full bridge (FB) boost converter for single stage power factor correction (PFC) in distributed power system is proposed. A simple auxiliary circuit provides zero-voltage-switching(ZVS) condition to all semiconductor devices without imposing additional voltage and current stresses and loss of PWM capability. The proposed boost converter provides both input power factor correction and direct conversion from $110{\sim}220VAC$ line to 300VDC bus with single power stage. Operational principle, analysis of the proposed converter are described and verified by computer simulation and experimental results from a 1.5 kW, 80 kHz laboratory prototype.
In this paper, an isolated ZVS-PWM boost converter is proposed for single stage line conversion. For power factor correction, we used the half bridge topology at the primary side of isolation transformer permitting switching devices to operate under ZVS by using circuit parastics and operating at a fixed duty ratio near 50%. Thus the relatively continuous input current distortion and small size input filter are also achievable. The ZVS-PWM boost operation of the proposed converter can be achieved by using the boost inductor $L_f$, main switch $Q_3$, and simple auxiliary circuit at the secondary side of isolation transformer. The secondary side circuit differ from a conventional PWM boost converter by introduction a simple auxiliary circuit. The auxiliary circuit is actived only during a short switching transition time to create the ZVS condition for the main switch as that of the ZVT-PWM boost converter. With a single stage, it is possible to achieve a sinusoidal line current at unity power factor as well as the isolated 48V DC output. Comparing to the two stage schemes, overall effiency of the proposed converter is highly improved due to the effective ZVS of all devices as well as single stage power conversion. Thus, it can be operated at high switching frequency allowing use of small size input filter. Minimum voltage and current stress make it high power application possible.
A zero-voltage transition (ZVT) PWM boost PFC converter using a transformer to recover the resonant energy into the input voltage is proposed. The proposed converter reduces turn-off switching loss of the auxiliary switch. The resonant current of the auxiliary circuit is optimally reduced by the feed-forwarded input voltage. Moreover, the resonant energy of the auxiliary circuit is recovered into the load and input voltages. In this paper, the modes of converter operation are explained and analyzed, design guidelines are given, and experimental results of 1.2kW, 200kHz prototype system are presented.

This paper presents a high-frequency boost type ZVS-PWM chopper-fed DC-DC power converter with a single active auxiliary edge-resonant snubber at the load stage which can be designed for power conditioners such as solar photovoltaic generation, fuel cell generation, battery and super capacitor energy storages. Its principle operation in steady-state is described in addition to a prototype setup. The experimental results of boost type ZVS-PWM chopper proposed here, are evaluated and verified with a practical design model in terms of its switching voltage and current waveforms, the switching v-i trajectory and the temperature performance of IGBT module, the actual power conversion efficiency, and the EMI of radiated and conducted emissions, and then discussed and compared with the hard switching scheme from an experimental point of view. Finally, this paper proposes a practical method to suppress parasitic oscillation due to the active auxiliary resonant switch at ZCS turn-off mode transition with the aid of an additional lossless clamping diode loop, and can be reduced the EMI conducted emission.
This paper proposes a unity power factor ZVT PWM single-phase rectifier. The ZVT soft switching are achieved by using a simple ZVT circuit, and the reduced conduction losses are achieved by employing a single-stage converter, instead of a typical double-stage converter composed of front end diode rectifier and cascaded boost rectifier. Furthermore, thanks to good features such as simple PWM control at constant frequency, low switch stress and low VAR rating of commutation circuits, it is suitable for high power applications. The principle of operation is explained in detail, and simulation results of the new converter are also included.
An interleaved PWM converter is proposed to implement the features of zero voltage switching (ZVS), load current sharing and ripple current reduction. The proposed converter includes two ZVS converters with a common clamp capacitor. With the shared capacitor, the charge balance of the two interleaved parts is automatically regulated under input voltage and load variations. The active-clamping circuit is used to realize the ZVS turn-on so that the switching losses on the power switches are reduced. The ZVS turn-on of all of the switching devices is achieved during the transition interval. The interleaved pulse-width modulation (PWM) operation will reduce the ripple current and the size of the input and output capacitors. The current double rectifier (CDR) is adopted in the secondary side to reduce output ripple current so that the sizes of the output chokes and capacitor are reduced. The circuit configuration, operation principles and design considerations are presented. Finally experimental results based on a 408W (24V/17A) prototype are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed converter.
