  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to propose more accurate mathematical model which can represent result of government quality assurance activity, especially corrective action and flaw. Methods: The collected data during government quality assurance activity was represented through histogram. To find out which distributions (Poisson distribution, Zero-Inflated Poisson distribution) could represent the histogram better, this study applied Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results: The result of this study is as follows; Histogram of corrective action during past 3 years and Zero-Inflated Poisson distribution had strong relationship that their correlation coefficients was over 0.94. Flaw data could not re-parameterize to Zero-Inflated Poisson distribution because its frequency of flaw occurrence was too small. However, histogram of flaw data during past 3 years and Poisson distribution showed strong relationship that their correlation coefficients was 0.99. Conclusion: Zero-Inflated Poisson distribution represented better than Poisson distribution to demonstrate corrective action histogram. However, in the case of flaw data histogram, Poisson distribution was more accurate than Zero-Inflated Poisson distribution.

  • A zero vector selection method to reduce switching losses for model predictive control (MPC) of voltage source inverter is proposed. A conventional MPC of voltage source inverter has not been proposed, and a method to select the redundancy of the zero vector is required for this study. In this paper, the redundancy of the zero vectors is selected with generating a zero sequence voltage to reduce switching losses. The zero vector of 2-level inverter is determined by determining sign of the zero sequence voltage. In the proposed method, the quality of the current is retained and switching loss can be reduced compared with the conventional method. This result was verified by P-sim simulation and experiments.

  • In this study, a zero-cement brick is manufactured by replacing cement with recycled aggregates and blast furnace slag powder. Experimental tests were conducted with standard sized samples of $190{\times}57{\times}90mm$ (KS F 4004), and this manufacturing technique was simulated in practice. Results showed that the zero-cement brick with 0.35 W/B had the highest compressive strength, but the lowest absorption ratio. This absorption ratio of zero-cement brick with 0.35 W/B was lower than the required level determined by KS F 4004. Hence, to increase the absorption ratio, crushed fine aggregate (CA) and emulsified waste vegetable oil (EWO) were used in combination in the zero-cement brick. It was found that the zero-cement brick with CA of 20% and EWO of 1% had the optimum combination, in terms of having the optimum strength development (12 MPa) and the optimum absorption ratio (8.4%) that satisfies the level required by KS. In addition, it is demonstrated that for the manufacturing of zero-cement brick of 1000, this technique reduces the manufacturing cost by 5% compared with conventional cement brick.

  • This study uses text mining compares and contrasts consumers' social media discourses on dietary related zero-waste movement before and after COVID-19. The results indicate that the amount of buzz on social networks for the zero- waste movement has been increasing after COVID-19. Additionally, the results of frequency analysis and topic modeling revealed that subjects associated with zero-waste movement were more diversified after COVID-19. Although the results of a sentiment analysis and word cloud visualization confirmed that consumers' positive responses toward the zero-waste have been increasing, they also revealed a need to educate and encourage those who are still not aware of the need for zero-waste. Finally, consumers mentioned only a small number of companies participating in zero-waste movement on SNS, indicating that the level of active involvement by such companies is much lower than that of consumers. Theoretical and educational implications as well as those for government policy-making are considered.

  • Recently, the need to be wary of internal access such as internal access as well as external attackers' access to work has increased due to network expansion, cloud infrastructure expansion, and changes in working patterns due to COVID-19 situations. For this reason, a new network security model called Zero Trust is drawing attention. Zero Trust has a key principle that a trusted network does not exist, and in order to be allowed access, it must be authenticated first, and data resources can only be accessed by authenticated users and authenticated devices. In this paper, we will explain these zero trust and zero trust architectures and examine new security application strategies applicable to various companies using zero trust and the process of building a new security system based on the zero trust architecture model.

  • Korean income data obtained from Korea Labor Panel Survey shows excessive zeros, which may not be properly explained by the Tobit model. In this paper, we analyze the data using a zero-inflated Tobit model to incorporate excessive zeros. A zero-inflated Tobit model consists of two stages. In the first stage, individuals with 0 income are divided into two groups: genuine zero group and random zero group. Individuals in the genuine zero group did not participate labor market since they have no intention to do so. Individuals in the random zero group participated labor market but their incomes are very low and truncated at 0. In the second stage, the Tobit model is assumed to a subset of data combining random zeros and positive observations. Regression models are employed in both stages to obtain the effect of explanatory variables on the participation of labor market and the income amount. Markov chain Monte Carlo methods are applied for the Bayesian analysis of the data. The proposed zero-inflated Tobit model outperforms the Tobit model in model fit and prediction of zero frequency. The analysis results show strong evidence that the probability of participating in the labor market increases with age, decreases with education, and women tend to have stronger intentions on participating in the labor market than men. There also exists moderate evidence that the probability of participating in the labor market decreases with socio-economic status and reserved wage. However, the amount of monthly wage increases with age and education, and it is larger for married than unmarried and for men than women.
