인터넷과 소셜미디어를 통해 본 간호사 이미지에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Image of Nurse through Analysing Linking Words of Nurse in the Internet and Social Media)

  • Purpose: This study investigated the linking words of nurse which were presented together with nurse on phrase, clauses or sentence of documents or conversations in the Internet portals and social media. Methods: The linking words with nurse were calculated by the number of presentation on conversations or documents, in Google, Daum, Naver, Twitter and Facebook. The changes of characteristics and the trend of yearly changes of major linking words of nurse were investigated by the type of media. In order to identify the meaning of the words, clustering of the collected linking words by categories was analysed and the characteristics of each cluster were classified. Results: A total number of reviewed linking words was 17,399,711 and the most frequently presenting words were hospital, work and person. The words related to people were the most highly presented and the next were those of emotion, professional and place respectively. Conclusion: With analysing the trends of changes and characteristics of words by yearly base and clusters, we attempted to investigate the image of nurse that the public think and feel about nurse.

대학생의 영어 리듬과 억양구조 인식에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Perception of English Rhythm and Intonation Structure by Korea University Students)

  • This study is aimed to grasp the actual problems of the perception of English rhythm and intonation structure by Korean University students who have studied English in the secondary schools for the past six years, and to establish the systems of English rhythm and intonation structure for the Korean students of English. For this study, the listening test is provided, and 100 students are chosen as the subjects of the study. The noticeable findings are summarized as follows: (1) Koreans perceive the words stress comparatively well in nonsense words, unfamiliar place names, and familiar word. (2) Koreans do not perceive the isochrony of English rhythm well enough. The perception of the sentence stress is very unstable, especially in the sentence involved in polysyllabic words, compound words, and 'emphatic stress' pr 'contrastive stress'(or in the different rhythmic patterns). (3) Koreans do not perceive the nucleus well enough. The perception of the nucleus is more stable in content words than in function words, at the end of a sentence than in the middle of a sentence, and in monosyllabic words than in the polysyllabic words. (4) Koreans do not perceive the boundary(or pause) of intonation group well enough. The perception of the pause is unstable in the long or complex sentence. (5) Koreans discriminate the meaning of English word stress comparatively well, especially in disyllabic words. But the discrimination is somewhat unstable in polysyllabic words and between 'adjective' and 'verb' (6) Koreans' discrimination of the intonation meaning is below the level. Koreans do not perceive the differences of intonation meaning according to the pitch accent or the focus. 서양복 제작용어에 관한 연구 -교육용어와 현장용어의 현황분석- (A Study on the Professonal Terminologies Concerning Manufacture of Western Costumes -An Analysis of the Status of Educational Terminologies and the Terminologies Used in Practice-)

  • This study is aimed at providing guidelines to settle unified terminologies that can be used in education, industry and factories by identifying the problems in the use of complicated terminologies concerning manufacture of western costumes. The results of the study reveal that educational terminologies tend to be more Korean languages whereas the terminologies used in practice consist of main streams of Japanese words which were transmitted erroneously, thus causing barriers of communication between the two fields, being same points to be called differently and being the terminologies pertinent to Korean costumes mistakenly used for western costumes. The confusion of use of professional terminologies is significant problem to be sotted in view point not only of the economic aspects of low productivity but also of the settlement and transmission of Korean culture. Therefore, the administrative measures are badly in need to solve all these problems. The following points are recommended to solve these problems on the basis of the findings of this study. 1) In principle the mistakenly transmitted Japanese words and the mixed up terminologies should be Koreanized, but those words for which there are no proper Korean words and complicated words difficult to commumicate can be replaced by the standardized pronunciation of the original words. 2) The words for Korean costumes which are mistakenly used for western costumes should be expressed by the standard of western costumes. 3) The readily localized foreign terminologies had better be used as they are. 4) The variety of terminologies indicating same points should be Koreanized in unification to best express the true meaning of the original words. 5) The misspelled Korean words and the dialect of Korean words should be standardized.

의미 투명성이 단어 학습에 미치는 영향: 사건관련전위 연구 (Semantic transparency effects in the learning of new words: An ERP study)

  • 새로운 한자합성어의 학습에서 의미 투명성의 효과를 행동 실험과 ERP 실험을 통해 조사하였다. 참가자들은 구성형태소와 단어 의미의 관계가 투명한 조건(=투명 신단어)과 불투명한 조건(=불투명 신단어)에서 3회기에 걸쳐 새로운 단어-의미쌍을 학습하였다. 학습 단계에서는 자기 조절 의미 학습 시간과 ERP를 측정하고, 검사 단계에서는 학습한 단어에 대한 어휘판단시간과 의미 회상 점수를 측정하였다. 의미 학습 시간, 어휘판단, 의미 회상 검사 모두에서 의미 투명성의 효과가 유의하게 나타났다. 투명 신단어의 경우, 불투명 신단어에 비해 의미 학습 시간이 더 짧았음에도 불구하고, 어휘판단이 더 정확하고 빨랐으며, 의미 회상 검사 수행이 더 좋았다. 의미 투명성 효과는 ERP의 N400 성분의 진폭에서도 나타났다. 단어 의미가 투명한 조건에 비해 불투명한 조건에서의 N400 진폭이 더 컸다. 본 연구의 결과는 단어 재인 연구에서 발견된 의미 투명성 효과가 단어 학습에서도 나타남을 보여주며, 이는 단어 학습에서 형태소 정보가 중요한 역할을 한다는 것을 시사한다.

유형별로 본 아동 어휘 발달 특성: 원어정보를 중심으로 (A Study on the Development of Vocabulary of Korean Children: Based on the Analysis of the Type of Words)

  • The aim of this study is to show developmental characteristics of vocabulary of Korean children. In this study, words were classified according to the origin of words: pure Korean, sino-Korean and foreign words. The results of the present study are as follows: In common nouns, the rate of sino-Korean was 33.6% in 3 year-old children but 50.7% in 8 year-old children. Adverb and prenouns showed the similar rate. The rate of words with foreign origin was 10 ~ 11 % in all age groups.

  • Fast and high-quality document clustering algorithms play an important role in providing data exploration by organizing large amounts of information into a small number of meaningful clusters. Hierarchical clustering improves the performance of retrieval and makes that users can understand easily. For outperforming of clustering, we implemented hierarchical structure with variety and readability, by careful selection of cluster topic words and deciding the number of clusters dynamically. It is important to select topic words because hierarchical clustering structure is summarizes result of searching. We made choice of noun word as a cluster topic word. The quality of topic words is increased $33\%$ as follows. As the topic word of each cluster, the only noun word is extracted for the top-level cluster and the used topic words for the children clusters were not reused.

광학 문자 인식을 통한 단어 정리 방법 (Vocabulary Generation Method by Optical Character Recognition)

  • A reader usually spends a lot of time browsing and searching word meaning in a dictionary, internet or smart applications in order to find the unknown words. In this paper, we propose a method to compensate this drawback. The proposed method introduces a vocabulary upon recognizing a word or group of words that was captured by a smart phone camera. Through this proposed method, organizing and editing words that were captured by smart phone, searching the dictionary data using bisection method, listening pronunciation with the use of speech synthesizer, building and editing of vocabulary stored in database are given as the features. A smart phone application for organizing English words was established. The proposed method significantly reduces the organizing time for unknown English words and increases the English learning efficiency.

유아의 시지각 발달과 읽기 : 수.방향.형태항상성 지각이 한글 단어 읽기에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Preschoolers' Visual Perception on Reading Words in Hangul : Application of the Test of Visual Perception for Reading)

  • In this study of the relationship between preschoolers' visual perception and reading Hangul words, the 287 participants showed significant developmental change in visual perception between three to five years of age. The researcher developed the computer-based screening Test of Visual Perception for Reading (TVPR). Factor analysis confirmed three factors of TVPR : perception of number, direction, and form constancy. These factors correlated highly with four factors of motor-reduced visual perception of the Korean Developmental Test of Visual Perception (Moon et al. 2003). All factors of TVPR explained reading real words and pseudo words; direction and form constancy perception predicted reading low frequency letters. These findings confirm that preschoolers' skills in visual perception contribute to the reading of words in Hangul.

음운론적 인식과 처리능력이 4-6세 유아의 한글 단어 읽기에 미치는 영향 (Kindergartners' Reading of Words in Hangul : Effects of Phonological Awareness and Processing)

  • Causal relationships of kindergarteners' phonological awareness and processing to their ability to read words was investigated with the participation of 289 4- to 6-year-old children attending three kindergartens in Busan. Results showed gradual growth in reading ability with age. Children performed best in reading words and poorest in reading low frequency letters. They showed continuous development in skills of syllable deletion, phoneme substitution, phoneme insertion, phonological memory and naming. Discontinuous development was found in counting syllables. Longer syllables were difficult to count, and middle syllables of 3 syllable words were hard to delete. Children had poor perception of final consonants of Consonant-Vowel-Consonant syllables. Children's phonological awareness and processing were latent variables strongly related to ability to read words written in Hangul.

Ternary Decomposition and Dictionary Extension for Khmer Word Segmentation

  • In this paper, we proposed a dictionary extension and a ternary decomposition technique to improve the effectiveness of Khmer word segmentation. Most word segmentation approaches depend on a dictionary. However, the dictionary being used is not fully reliable and cannot cover all the words of the Khmer language. This causes an issue of unknown words or out-of-vocabulary words. Our approach is to extend the original dictionary to be more reliable with new words. In addition, we use ternary decomposition for the segmentation process. In this research, we also introduced the invisible space of the Khmer Unicode (char\u200B) in order to segment our training corpus. With our segmentation algorithm, based on ternary decomposition and invisible space, we can extract new words from our training text and then input the new words into the dictionary. We used an extended wordlist and a segmentation algorithm regardless of the invisible space to test an unannotated text. Our results remarkably outperformed other approaches. We have achieved 88.8%, 91.8% and 90.6% rates of precision, recall and F-measurement.
