The purpose of this study was to collect baseline data for women's needs for social education, in order to eventually contribute to improving the quality of women's social education. In the needs survey, information on the motive to participate in social education programs, obstacles to participation, and program preferences was collected. The data were then analyzed by women's socio-demographic characteristics. Survey participants were married women between the ages of twenty to fifty, who were sampled from Seoul, six metropolitan areas, and nine provinces. For the final analysis, 1,026 survey forms were used. The motive for participating in women's social education programs was examined by each category. Overall, the participants showed the highest level in educational achievement motif. The motivations for lifestyle change, self-realization, and social accomplishment were also high and at a similar level. As for obstacles to participation, social obstacle received the highest rate, followed by family obstacle and personal reasons. As for the type of social education programs, home management programs were the most preferred, followed by psychological education, family education, leisure activity programs, physical education, and social education programs.

Recently, women's social activities in our society have been greatly increased and legal system and mechanism of social structure to pursue a society where gender equality shall be realized has been discussed lively in a detail manner. Nevertheless, the rate of social advancement of Korean women shows much lower than that of the western industrialized countries. The aim of this study is to examine such problem and to look for a solution thereof. As the subject for this survey, such social welfare facility as women's hall was selected, and then its state of facilities was investigated. The results from this survey revealed that women's hall, which had been started constructing since 1950s, began to spread out nationwide reaching the 1990s, and that women's hall was greatly used as a major public facility that supports women's social activities in each region, and that women's hall, which had been started as a social welfare facility, was a multifunctional facility performing functions such as welfare, education, culture and community, and that educational function among these had been changed a little by little in the aspect of contents and purpose according to the changes of times, however, education for women was treated as a major important function in the women's hall and operated accordingly.
The purpose of this study was to investigate Cheju Women\`s Social Education to improve social education. The data were collected by means of Questionnaire distributed to a stratified sample of 1,447 women in Cheju. Frequency, percentile, mean, x$^2$, t-test, one-way ANOVA were used to analyze the data. The study resulted in five major findings. The majority of respondents had a experience of social education. The motive of participation was to adapt oneself to new social circumstances. The respondents satisfied with social education. But, the discontented person pointed out level of lecturer. The respondents required foci educational institutions to teach social education for licences. They preferred teaching practice to theory. This study will be a primary material for development of programs which are aimed at enhancing women's abilities and roles in accordance with the changes in social structure and the circumstances of the times.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of experience of entrepreneuship education and social awareness of entrepreneurship on entrepreneurial intention through entrepreneurship, focusing on women who were relatively alienated from entrepreneurial activities. This study will provide suggestions for women's entrepreneurship in the future. Conclusions - Although women's economic activity is increasing, women's activities in the field of business start-up are still passive. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of entrepreneurship on entrepreneuship education and the social perception of entrepreneurship. As a result, we found that social awareness, entrepreneurship education, and entrepreneurship all had a significant influence on the intention of entrepreneurship. Positive social atmosphere for entrepreneurship induces interest in entrepreneurship education and forms a virtuous cycle structure that fosters entrepreneurship through entrepreneuship education. In addition, the introduction of diverse programs that encourage entrepreneurship should enhance the attractiveness of promising talent to enter the entrepreneurial market.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relational between elderly women's sex-role attitude and their marital satisfaction. For this purpose, a questionnaire was surveyed 186 elderly women living in Kwangiu and Chonnam. The collected data were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, ANOVA and stepwise regression analysis. The results of this research were as follows ; First The total points of the elderly women's sex-role attitude score was 16.4, which was represented mixed trends of traditional and modem. And the total points of the elderly women's marital satisfaction score was 31.6, which was higher than the median 30. Second, Elderly women's sex-role attitude score was meaningfully different according to education level, health state, economic state. And elderly women's marital satisfaction score was meaningfully different according to social activity, economic state, health state, education level, age. Third, As the results of regression analysis, it was shown that the highest influencing variable on their marital satisfaction was the social activity, economic state, education level. The education chance and job opportunity of women have increased in the 19th century. Also, women tried to get the right and chance equal to men in this period. Therefore, the population of women participating in the sports have increased. And comfortable and practical pantaloons which men have been wearing were suggested to women. This study investigated the characteristics and change of women's sports wear relating to social change in the 19th century. The results of this study were as follows: 1. According to the social change, women participated in the sports activities with the opportunity equal to men, and the appropriate women's sports wear was needed. 2. Pantaloons which were suggested as the clothing reform movement became popular with the development of sports wear. 3. Simple, effective, comfortable and easy style sports wear was preferred. 4. Women accepted men's sports wear positively. 5. The women's sports wear varied according to the various kinds of sports. 6. The healthful design was preferred and harmful design was excluded. 7. Underwear was improved functionally and simplified. 8. The main materials were flannel, wool, tweed, homespun and serge, and the mail colors were brown, dark blue, gray and black.

The study was the second part of the research on development of consumer education program as social education program. The purpose of this study was to analyze needs fur program contents. Program contents had two parts: educational program contents and program managements. The data used contained 617 married women living in Seoul, Korea. Using SAS-PC program, Chi-square and Anova Analyses were executed. The results showed that married women had higher educational needs on housing purchase, tax avoidance, cancellation of contracts after purchase, consumer redress, etc. The differences in age, education, householder's occupation, and household income level resulted in the differences in educational needs for some specific educational items. They were likely to be educated at the highly accessible place such as women's center, community center, University extension service center, and consumer organization, etc. Also they preferred to be educated once a week fur a short time period like one to three months, and to have the lectures with discussion in the class. Some implications were mentioned for developing consumer education program as social education.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to identify the associations with social support, stress coping strategy and depression among some urban middle-aged men and women. Methods: Considering the regional distribution 4 districts of Seoul were conveniently selected for this study and a total of 329 middle-aged men and women participated in the self-administered survey. The survey questionaries included social support, stress coping strategy, depression and general characteristics. Results: Avoidance and problem solving strategies were significant independent variables to the men's depression scores, but social support was not significant. However middle aged female's social support more explained the variance of the depression scores than the problem solving strategy. Conclusions: Significant sociopsychological factors that affected middle-aged depression were different by sex and according to the results, stress coping strategy for men and social support for woman were significant factors on depression control in urban middle-aged population.

Purpose: To exam image of nurses and factors on professional socialization of nursing students. Method: A descriptive study was performed and data was analysed with SPSS-PC Win(version 11.0). Image of nurses was measured by traditional-personal image and professional-social image(20 items, 5-Likert). Professional socialization was measured by revised Professional Socialization Scale(52 items, 5-Likert). A total of 135 students were participated. Result: Professional-social image showed stronger effect rather than traditional-personal image on Professional socialization. Commitment and Decision making were potent factors on traditional-personal image, and Commitment, Maturity, Independence and Decision making were statistically significant to explain professional-social image. Factors influenced positively professional socialization were job satisfaction and professional-social image. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that focus of nursing education have to shift in values and personality traits to professional-oriented value system. Results indicate the importance of encouraging professional socialization and cultivation of positive, personal self-esteem for nursing students through establishing nursing identity. Also, clinical role model was trained effectively.
The purpose of this study is to examine aspects of education, social activity, and sense of values in new women, categorizing the clothing habits into hair style, new modes and accessories on the basis of those. and to find out the influences of new women's attirement on clothing habit of general women, centering of 「Beol Geon Gon」 which made its first appearance in November 1926 and issued till June, 1934. First, new education became good opportunity to face and adopt new style of clothes. The school uniform of western style worn under the education system operated missionaries and clothes of returning students from studying abroad became a chance for general people to meet western clothes. Second, various style of western clothing was shown by enlargement of social activity area of new women. In the educational world and active careers such as doctor, journalist. women's libber, convenient clothing was required. The appearance of airwoman and driver showed trends that women's clothing was changing similar to men's clothing. Third, even general women started to adopt western clothes not to be old-fashioned as being threatened and weakened by the vision about marriage and love among new women, and participated in the trends.
