  • Localization trends in Korea and trade liberalization in the world are the important challenges to agricultural extension services in Korea, and strategic directions in terms of system, organization, programs and conciousness would be necessary for adapting to the new circunstances. Some of the measures to improve and activate agricultural extension services in Korea should include the following: 1) Modification of extension personnel appointment regulations to secure specialized extension agents by the provincial administrators and county directors at the provincial and county level rural extension services. 2) Flexible organization and operation of county level rural guidance offices to meet the specific needs of local areas. 3) Strenghening the central government's financial support for effective local extension services in terms of facility and manpower. 4) Expansion of agricultural extension programs for women and urban people and quality inservice training for extension personnel.

Firm Size and Different Behaviors in IT Investment Decisions

  • The influencing factors of large-scale IT investment decisions are rarely investigated in an empirical perspective. We find out different behaviors in IT investment decisions according to the size of organization. Large scale IT-investment decisions (e.g. system downsizing) can be the outcome of decision-makers' motivation to adopt and control new IT systems- However, this phenomenon is salient in the large-sized organization rather than small-sized ones. Based on our investigation, we predict general IT decision-making behaviors in organizations when making IT investment decisions.

건강가정지원센터의 조직과 운영방안 (A Study on the Organizational System and Management Strategies of Healthy Families Center)

  • This study was conducted to develop and propose a model for an organizational system and management strategies for Healthy Families Centers. As baseline research, the organization of comparable institutions such as the Social Welfare Center, Women's Development Center, Elderly Welfare Center, Child Welfare Center, and Childcare Information Center was analyzed. Based on the results of baseline research and the draft version of Healthy Families Act, this study proposed a management model for Healthy Families Centers. This proposed model suggests the city, county, and district level centers to be organized with three divisions: 1. family counseling team, 2. family education team, and 3. family life team. Concrete assignments for the teams are also proposed. Finally, a networking system for more effective management of the healthy families centers was also proposed.

사회교육으로서의 소비자교육프로그램 개발 II: 프로그램내용 및 운용방법에 대한 요구도 분석 (Development of Consumer Education Program As Social Education Program II: Needs Analysis on Program Contents and Program Management)

  • The study was the second part of the research on development of consumer education program as social education program. The purpose of this study was to analyze needs fur program contents. Program contents had two parts: educational program contents and program managements. The data used contained 617 married women living in Seoul, Korea. Using SAS-PC program, Chi-square and Anova Analyses were executed. The results showed that married women had higher educational needs on housing purchase, tax avoidance, cancellation of contracts after purchase, consumer redress, etc. The differences in age, education, householder's occupation, and household income level resulted in the differences in educational needs for some specific educational items. They were likely to be educated at the highly accessible place such as women's center, community center, University extension service center, and consumer organization, etc. Also they preferred to be educated once a week fur a short time period like one to three months, and to have the lectures with discussion in the class. Some implications were mentioned for developing consumer education program as social education.

Local Silencing of Connective Tissue Growth Factor by siRNA/Peptide Improves Dermal Collagen Arrangements

  • BACKGROUND: Collagen organization within tissues has a critical role in wound regeneration. Collagen fibril diameter, arrangements and maturity between connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) small interfering RNA (siRNA) and mismatch scrambled siRNA-treated wound were compared to evaluate the efficacy of CTGF siRNA as a future implement for scar preventive medicine. METHODS: Nanocomplexes of CTGF small interfering RNA (CTGF siRNA) with cell penetrating peptides (KALA and $MPG^{{\Delta}NLS}$) were formulated and their effects on CTGF downregulation, collagen fibril diameter and arrangement were investigated. Various ratios of CTGF siRNA and peptide complexes were prepared and down-regulation were evaluated by immunoblot analysis. Control and CTGF siRNA modified cells-populated collagen lattices were prepared and rates of contraction measured. Collagen organization in rabbit ear 8 mm biopsy punch wound at 1 day to 8 wks post injury time were investigated by transmission electron microscopy and histology was investigated with Olympus System and TS-Auto software. CONCLUSION: CTGF expression was down-regulated to 40% of control by CTGF siRNA/KALA (1:24) complexes (p<0.01) and collagen lattice contraction was inhibited. However, down-regulated of CTGF by CTGF $siRNA/MPG^{{\Delta}NLS}$ complexes was not statistically significant. CTGF KALA-treated wound appeared with well formed-basket weave pattern of collagen fibrils with mean diameter of $128{\pm}22nm$ (n = 821). Mismatch siRNA/KALA-treated wound showed a high frequency of parallel small diameter fibrils (mean $90{\pm}20nm$, n = 563). CONCLUSION: Controlling over-expression of CTGF by peptide-mediated siRNA delivery could improve the collagen orientation and tissue remodeling in full thickness rabbit ear wound.

  • 본 연구는 조직의 특징과 기업의 성과에 대한 실증 분석을 실시한 내용이다. 기업의 조직의 문화를 이룬 특징은 바로 기업의 성패를 좌우하게 된다. 기업의 폐쇄적인 문화적 특징을 극복하고 기업가적 지향성, 권한위임, 조직문화의 개방성 및 R&D역량은 기업의 성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다. 이러한 기업의 특성은 개방형 혁신을 수용하여 혁신적인 성과를 창출하는데도 긍정적인 역할을 한다. 기업의 특성은 외부자원에 대한 수용과 활용을 긍정적으로 생각하게 된다. 이러한 변인들은 결국 기업의 조직의 특성이 기업의 성과를 창출하는 요인이 된다는 것을 검증하였다. 이러한 과정 속에서 개방형 혁신과 외부자원의 수용도 기업의 성과를 창출하는데 긍정적인 요인으로 작용하고 있음을 검증하였다. 본 연구의 내용은 기업의 조직문화를 구축하는 변인에 대한 학술적 기반을 제공하였으며, 기업의 조직문화를 운영하는 리더의 역할에 대한 실무적 태도를 제공하고 있다. 본 연구는 여성 기업을 중심으로 검증을 실시하였다. 추후 연구에서는 기업의 전반적인 특성을 고려하여 연구를 진행할 예정이다. 또한, 지역적 한계에 대한 극복을 반영하여 국내 중소기업의 성과 창출을 위한 다양한 변인들을 적용하여 검증하려고 한다.

여성의 리더십역량이 직무 및 조직생활 만족, 경력경로 개발의지에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Career Women's Leadership Competences on the Job and Organization Life Satisfaction and the Willing to the Career Path Development)

  • 본 연구에서는 취업여성의 리더십역량과 조직생활만족, 경력경로개발의 관계를 살펴보고자 하였다. 선행 연구를 토대로 가설 및 연구모형을 설정하고 이를 검증하기 위하여 취업중인 여성 250명을 표본으로 추출하여 그들의 리더십역량이 직무 및 조직생활만족과 경력경로 개발의지 및 그 활동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대한 실증조사를 수행하였다. 더불어 빈도분석, 기술통계 분석, 구조방정식모형구축 및 검증 등의 통계적 처리를 위하여 Spss15.0과 Amos7.0을 이용하였다. 연구의 주요 결과로서 여성의 리더십역량은 직무 및 조직생활만족과 경력경로 개발에 모두 긍정적인 영향을 주고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 특히, 여성의 경력경로개발의지를 촉진하는 데에는 직무 및 조직생활만족이 매개효과를 발휘하는 것으로 나타났다.

청년세대의 일-삶 균형 수준과 행복 요인: OECD '더 나은 삶의 지수(Better Life Index)'와 '세계가치관조사(World Value Survey)'를 활용한 다국가 비교 (Factors of the Happiness of Youth Generations by Work-Life Balance: A Cross-National Comparison Utilizing the Better Life Index and World Value Survey)

  • This study aimed for in-depth observation of the status quo of the youth generation's happiness utilizing the Better Life Index and the World Value Survey. To serve this purpose, the study selected 11 of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development(OECD) member countries (Australia, Estonia, Germany, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Poland, Sweden, Turkey, United States) that overlapped with the subject countries of the World Value Survey. The results of the observation first revealed that among the work-life balance levels of youth generations from across the 11 studied countries, the level for Korean youth was in a very poor state. Second, the happiness level of Korean youth also sat among the bottom ranks, with the aspects of politics, friendship, and career casting a heavy influence on importance to life; specifically, the youth generations of Turkey and Germany showed high levels of life purpose, while Korean youth displayed outstanding results in the challenge aspect. The third finding of this study reported that family, religion, power, benevolence, and challenge were commonly related to the happiness level of youth generations in countries with a higher work-life balance. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the much needed attention and support for improving the happiness level of the Korean youth generation, who will eventually play the leading role in our future society.

푸드뱅크 기탁식품의 안전성 확보를 위한 HACCP 제도 적용 (Implementation of HACCP System for Safety of Donated Food in Foodbank Organization)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the problems arising from the actual conditions of the Foodbank, and to implement the HACCP system as a solution in terms of increasing the safety of donated food within the Foodbank. In order to apply HACCP system, the entire Foodbank working process such as preparation, collection, transportation, division, and distribution was considered and analyzed to decide the application point for CCPs. Donated foods mainly consisted of processed foods, raw materials, lunch boxes, and cooked foods from mass catering establishments, which dominated over the others in terms of quantity. Cooked foods were divided into three groups based on menu-types and processing methods. Temperature, pH, and aw were measured on cooked foods, and Total Plate Count, Coliforms, E. coli, Salmonella spp., Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes, and E. coli O157:H7 were conducted in order to apply a HACCP plan. From these experiments, temperature, pH, and $a_w$ of donated food were likely contributed to microbial growth. Donated foods before HACCP implementation showed high numbers in terms of total plate count and Coliforms, both well over the acceptable standard levels. By setting the CCPs on maintenance of donated food below $10^{\circ}C$ and using a $75^{\circ}C$ reheating method, microbiological hazard levels were able to be controlled and lowered. From these results, it is concluded that in order to guarantee food safety, foods donated to the Foodbank must not only maintain a reasonable level of initial microbiological growth, but also must be handled properly through time and temperature controls within the Foodbank system. Furthermore, in terms of implementing the HACCP plan within the Foodbank management structure, basic food safety and sanitation measures, such as reheating facilities and various cold chain systems such as refrigerated vehicle for food transportation are importantly needed. The training and education of Foodbank personnel and management in areas such as awareness of hygiene and safe food handling and practice are also required and necessary.

병원 조직 및 구성원들 간 신뢰수준에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Antecedents of Trust among Hospital Employees)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study is to understand the antecedents of trust with regard to organization and interpersonal trust among the employees of a hospital organization. Methods : Data were collected from 942 employees who work at ten hospitals of Seoul in other cities in Korea. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS Ver. 18.0 and AMOS Ver. 18.0 and by a frequency analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and regression analysis. Results : The main finding here was that the trust of hospital employees is significantly affected by fairness, consideration, morality, competence, and social responsibility. Conclusions : This result implies that hospital administrators should endeavor to improve the level of trust of among the employees of their organization and in therir coworkers through a fair reward system, an ethical management philosophy, by instilling a high competency level compared to other hospitals, and by ensuring high levels of social responsibility.
