  • Eclipse Scripting Application Programming Interface (ESAPI) was devised to enhance the efficiency in such treatment related workflows as contouring, treatment planning, plan quality measure, and data-mining by communicating with the treatment planning system (TPS). It is provided in the form of C# programming based toolbox, which could be modified to fit into the clinical applications. The Scripting program, however, does not offer all potential functionalities that the users intend to develop. The shortcomings can be overcome by combining the Scripting programming with user-executable program on Windows or Linux. The executed program has greater freedom in implementation, which could strengthen the ability and availability of the Scripting on the clinical applications. This work shows the use of the Scripting programming throughout the simple modification of the given toolbox. Besides, it presents the implementation of combining both Scripting and user-executed programming based on MATLAB, applied to automated dynamic MLC wedge and FIF treatment planning procedure for promoting the planning efficiency.

  • A multi-dimensional thermal-hydraulic system analysis code, MARS 1.3.1, has been developed in order to have the realistic analysis capability of two-phase thermal-hydraulic transients for pressurized water reactor (PWR) plants. As the backbones for the MARS code, the RELAP5/MOD3.2.1.2 and COBRA-TF codes were adopted in order to take advantages of the very general, versatile features of RELAP5 and the realistic three-dimensional hydrodynamic module of COBRA-TF. In the MARS code, all the functional modules of the two codes were unified into a single code first. Then, the source codes were converted into the standard Fortran 90, and then they were restructured using a modular data structure based on "derived type variables" and a new "dynamic memory allocation" scheme. In addition, the Windows features were implemented to improve user friendliness. This paper presents the developmental work of the MARS version 1.3.1 including the hydrodynamic model unification, the heat structure coupling, the code restructuring and modernization, and their verifications.their verifications.

  • Recently, due to the growing concern of the public in rural amenities and hobby farming works, much more urbanites, especially near-retirees, have been interested in rural life style than before. However, in spite of popular preference to ruralities, little has been known about their demand on retired rural life. Therefore, this study examined urbanites' attitude to preparatory works for out-migration, preferred residential site conditions and life style in the countryside. For this purpose, data were collected from a survey with the sample of 386 urban residents aged 40 to 65 rho hoped moving into the countryside after retirement, through structured questionnaires. Descriptive statistical works were performed using SPSS/PC windows program. The major findings of this study were as follows; (1) Host of urbanites, who answered in this study, planned to prepare ex-urban movement in their fifties and to put into practice in their sixties. (2) Key factors of location decision on movement were proximity/accessibility to centre city, medical service level, and distance to their family or friends. And about a half of respondents wanted second home in the countryside. (3) Most favoured rural life styles were nature-friendly well-being and hobby/healthy firming. Generally, the respondents of this survey had the positive attitude to do works in their later life, especially preferred to farming and volunteering in their communities.

  • Vanadium dioxide(VO2) has been reported to be the most attractive material for thermochromic windows due to its semiconductor-metal phase transition at around $68^{\circ}C$. However, our previous experiment showed it is difficult to grow VO2 thin films directly on glass substrate, whereas thermochromic VO2 thin films were successfully grown on R-cut sapphire substrate. Properties of VO2 thin films on different orientations of sapphire substrates were already reported. Furthermore, VO2 thin films were successfully grown heteroepitaxially on (001) preferred oriented ZnO coated glass. We deposited VO2 thin films using V2O5 targets on substrates with various lattice parameters with same orientation(SrTiO3, MgO, and Sapphire substrate of (001) orientation) by pulsed laser deposition. In this work, we will discuss the effects of lattice misfit, substrate-induced stress and grain size on the properties of VO2 thin films deposited on various substrate materials.

  • To visualize electrical activities in the cerebral cortex, we develop the 3D topographic mapping system based on PC. For this work, we utilize OpenGL tool and an optimized interpolation method known as 3D barycentric algotithm, which has a little computational complexity. OpenGL processes the 3D coordinates, and 3D barycentric algotithm interpolates to get overall EEGs with EEGs measured from finite electrodes on 3D. To prove validity of this algorithm on the PC-based system, we developped Windows-based 3D topographic mapping program using the Barycentric algorithm. The result showed that the performance of this system is comparable to that of workstation in terms of speed and precision. Also, the result of clinical test was the same as that of a EEG technician's analysis.

  • For the improvement of environmental comfort in the buildings with the blind control, the objective of this study is to prevent the direct glare caused by the daylight inlet. During the process of solar profile prediction, time are significant factors that may cause error and glare during the blind control. This research proposes and evaluates the correction and control method to minimize prediction error. For the local areas with different longitude and local standard meridian, error occurred in the process of the time conversion from local standard time to apparent solar time. In order to correct error in time conversion, apparent solar time should be recalculated after adjusting the day of year and the equation of time. To solve the problems by the potential time errors, control method is suggested to divide the control sections using the calibrated fitting-curve and this method is verified through simulations. The proposed correction and control method, which considered potential time errors by loop lop leap years, could solve the problems about direct glare caused by daylight inlet on the work-plane according to the prediction errors of solar profile. And also these methods could maximize daylight inlet and solar heat gain, because the blocked area on windows could be minimized.

  • The present research addresses the system design for building a geospatially-based web services application for mobile users. In recent years, geospatial information(GI) and Geographic Information Systems(GIS) are significant resources in decision-making analyses at various levels of society and activities. Recently, the integration of GIS and web services, called GIS web services, provides the wider implementation of GIS. At the present time, accessing, presenting, and manipulating updatedgeospatial information to locate geo-related facility services are real challenges related to application developers to implement for foot-travelers properly. The present paper investigates how the web services work in a GIS for discovering geo-related facility services such as a restaurant and post office in the user's vicinity. Thus, a prototype, with an architecture consisting of a windows application on the client side as well as facility services and geo-engineon the server side, were designed and implemented with the proposed GIS web services platform. On both the client and server sides, visual studio .Net technology was used. A geo-engine on the server side was also built with ESRI's MapObjects. Following successful implementation of the prototype presented in this study, the mobile user is able to invoke remote web services to assess the location of various facilities such as restaurants. Moreover, the present research demonstratesthat web services are not restricted only to web-based use, but can also be utilized by any web-connected application.

  • Purpose: This study was dont: to evaluate the factors that influence secondary traumatic stress, burnout, and physical symptoms experienced by firefighters. In addition, a hypothetical model was developed. Method: The data were collected using self-reported questionnaires from 410 field service firefighters. Data analysis was done with the SPSSWIN 10.0 program for descriptive statistics and Windows LISREL program to determine the causal relationship between the measurement variables. Results: The hypothetical model which was developed fits well with actual data(${\chi}^2$=3.16, p=0.99, GFI=1.00, AGFI=0.99, NFI=0.99, and NNFI=1.06). The variable, personality type, social support, and impact mobilization frequency had a significant effect and accounted for 7% of the secondary traumatic stress in firefighters. The variables, career, social support, and secondary traumatic stress had a significant effect and accounted for 24% of the burnout in firefighters. Social support, impact mobilization frequency, and secondary traumatic stress were important variables and accounted for 31% of the physical symptoms in firefighters. Conclusion: It is necessary for firefighters to manage themselves according to their personality types. Strategies that can increase the firefighters' social support and decrease their perceived secondary traumatic stress also need to be developed to minimize or prevent a negative effect on their health.

  • IPsec offers not odd Internet security service such as Internet secure communication and authentication but also the safe key exchange and anti-replay attack mechanism. Recently IPsec is implemented on the various operating systems. But there is no existing tool that checks the servers, which provide IPsec services, work properly and provide their network security services well. In this paper, we design and implement the rule based security evaluation system for IPsec engine. This system operated on Windows and UNX platform. We developed the system using Java and C language.
