The Effect of Random Point Excitation on the Vibration Level of Plates

  • When a mechanical structure is driven by stationary wide band random point forces, the resulting vibration depends upon the number, location, and joint statistical properties of the exciting forces. In this study, under the assumption of light damping, an approximate procedure for analyzing plates is briefly outlined. The effects of number, location and correlation of the force field on the vibration level are then investigated for various cases in which random point forces with band limited white noise are applied, and the optimal spacing between input forces that produces a relative minimum in the vibration response is predicted.

  • 본 논문에서는, 병렬 혹은 직렬적으로 연접된 트렐리스 부호화 변조 기법 (Trellis coded modulation: TCM)을 위한 간단한 구조를 가진 향상된 반복적 복호 기법들이 제안되며, 동시에 제안된 기법들의 성능을 기존 기법들과 비교 제시한다. 제안된 복호 알고리즘은 기존 알고리즘의 단순 변형을 통해서 구현될 수 있음에도 불구하고, 모의실험 결과는 제안된 기법들이 부가 백색 가우스 잡음 채널 (Additive white Gaussian noise channel: AWGN channel) 및 레일리 (Rayleigh) 페이딩 채널 상에서 상당한 부호 이득을 제공함을 보여 준다.

  • Of concern in the paper is a Holling-Tanner predator-prey model with modified version of the Leslie-Gower functional response. Dynamical behaviours such as stability, permanence and Hopf bifurcation have been carried out deterministically. Using the normal form theory and center manifold theorem, the explicit formulae determining the stability and direction of Hopf bifurcation have been derived. The deterministic model is extended to a stochastic one by perturbing the growth equation of prey and predator by white and colored noises and finally the mean square stability of the stochastic model systems is investigated analytically. An extensive quantitative analysis has been performed based on numerical computation so as to validate the applicability of the proposed mathematical model.

  • 디지털 영상 처리 기술이 발전함에 따라 에지는 여러 응용 분야에서 활용되고 있다. 기존의 에지검출 방법에는 마스크를 이용한 Sobel, Prewitt, Roberts, Laplacian 연산자 등이 있다. 이러한 기존의 방법은 구현이 간단하나, AWGN(additive white Gaussian noise)이 첨가된 영상에서 에지 검출의 오류가 발생한다. 따라서 이와 같은 기존의 방법의 단점을 보완하기 위하여, 본 논문에서는 변형된 마스크를 이용한 에지 검출 알고리즘을 제안하였으며, 제안한 알고리즘은 AWGN 환경에서 우수한 에지검출 특성을 나타내었다.

  • Full scale durability test in the laboratory is an essential of any fatigue life evaluation of components or structures of the automotive vehicle. Component testing is particularly important in today's highly competitive industries where the design to reduce weight and production costs must be balanced with the necessity to avoid expensive service failure. Generally, Hydraulic road simulator is used to carry out the fatigue test and the vibration test. In this paper, the algorithm and software to realize the real road profile are developed. The operation software for simultaneously controlled multi-axial simulator is developed and the input and output data are displayed window based PC controller in real time. The software to generate the real road profile are developed. This paper developed a road profile reappearance software and simultaneously apply 3-axial actuator to white noise, so we verified the propriety of reappearance software through accomplishes an real test.

A stochastic optimal time-delay control for nonlinear structural systems

  • The time delay in active and semi-active controls is an important research subject. Many researches on the time-delay control for deterministic systems have been made (Hu and Wang 2002, Yang et al. 1990, Abdel-Mooty and Roorda 1991, Pu 1998, Cai and Huang 2002), while the study on that for stochastic systems is very limited. The effects of the time delay on the control of nonlinear systems under Gaussian white noise excitations have been studied by Bilello et al. (2002). The controlled linear systems with deterministic and random time delay subjected to Gaussian white noise excitations have been treated by Grigoriu (1997). Recently, a stochastic averaging method for quasi-integrable Hamiltonian systems with time delay has been proposed (Liu and Zhu 2007). In the present paper, a stochastic optimal time-delay control method for stochastically excited nonlinear structural systems is proposed based on the stochastic averaging method for quasi Hamiltonian systems with time delay and the stochastic dynamical programming principle. An example of stochastically excited and controlled hysteretic column is given to illustrate the proposed control method.

  • 불규칙 해상에서 선박의 큰 횡요각의 예측이 중요한 과제로 대두 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 추계적 해석에 의한 이의 예측 방법을 제시한다. 즉, 주어진 비선형 횡요 운동 방정식으로 부터 배의 횡요각과 각속도의 확률 밀도 함수를 구하는 방법으로 평균화 법과 등가 비선형화 법을 적용하였고 각종 계수들의 값의 변화에 따른 예측 결과를 다른 논문에서 제시한 simulation 결과와 비교하였다.

Error Probability Evaluation of a Novel Cooperative Communications Signaling Strategy in CDMA Systems

  • The powerful benefits of multi-antenna systems can be obtained by cooperative communications among users in multiple access environments without the need for physical arrays. This paper studies a novel cooperative signaling strategy that achieves high performance and low implementation complexity for synchronous code division multiple access (CDMA) wireless mobile networks. The validity of the proposed strategy under slow flat Rayleigh fading channel plus additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) is verified through closed-form error probability expressions and MonteCarlo simulations. A variety of analytical results reveal that the new cooperative strategy significantly outperforms direct transmission subject to the same spectral efficiency and transmit power constraint.

Performance Analysis of Space-Time Block Coded Cooperative Wireless Transmission in Rayleigh Fading Channels

  • This paper studies theoretically the bit error rate (BER) performance of cooperative transmission using space-time block code (STBC) in a fully distributed manner. Specifically, we first propose a STBC-based cooperative signaling structure to make the cooperation of three single-antenna terminals possible. Then, we derive the closed-form BER expressions for both cooperation and noncooperation schemes under flat Rayleigh fading channel plus additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). The validity of these expressions is verified by Monte-Carlo simulations. A variety of numerical and simulation results reveal that the cooperative transmission achieves higher diversity gain and better performance than the direct transmission for the same total transmit power.

  • The LQG regulator presented in this dissertation is designed to improve system stability with the structure in which Kalman Filters and LQ regulator are inter-connected to avoid disturbances on the system. For the sake of performance evaluation of the LQG regulator in this dissertation, the regulator is put in use for the speed control of DC Servo Motors without speed sensors on them to realize speed control without sensors by estimating uncertain speed with its state signals and to construct an optimal controller using the LQG regulator. Furthermore, state estimation process with white noise entered onto the systems is been experimented through a series of simulation. As a consequence, the process of estimating speed signals out of the signals with white noise inputs is confirmed using Kalman Filter.
