  • In this paper, a new structure of realizing switching control logic for Data Weighted Average Technique is suggested. It uses memory and adder for summing past binary input and this summed data is used to select one switch in control logic. This control logic acts in parallel regardless of resolution so increasing resolution don't affect on converting speed. In this reason, high speed and high resolution D/A converter based on Data Weighted Average Technique could be made. In this paper, 4 bits current mode thermometer code D/A converter is degined and simulated by using HSPICE. Simulated results show that new structure of D/A converter has more than 250MHz converting speed and less than 0.0003[LSB] INL error. It is very useful in low power circuit because of using 3.3 V supply voltage.

Virtual View Generation by a New Hole Filling Algorithm

  • In this paper, performance improved hole-filling algorithm which includes the boundary noise removing pre-process that can be used for an arbitrary virtual view synthesis has been proposed. Boundary noise occurs due to the boundary mismatch between depth and texture images during the 3D warping process and it usually causes unusual defects in a generated virtual view. Common-hole is impossible to recover by using only a given original view as a reference and most of the conventional algorithms generate unnatural views that include constrained parts of the texture. To remove the boundary noise, we first find occlusion regions and expand these regions to the common-hole region in the synthesized view. Then, we fill the common-hole using the spiral weighted average algorithm and the gradient searching algorithm. The spiral weighted average algorithm keeps the boundary of each object well by using depth information and the gradient searching algorithm preserves the details. We tried to combine strong points of both the spiral weighted average algorithm and the gradient searching algorithm. We also tried to reduce the flickering defect that exists around the filled common-hole region by using a probability mask. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm performs much better than the conventional algorithms.

중앙버스전용차로가 설치된 간선도로의 서비스수준 분석방법에 관한 연구 (A Study of Level of Service Analysis Method of Arterials including Exclusive Median Bus Lanes)

  • PURPOSES : The purpose of this paper is to develop a methodology to estimate level of service of arterial including Exclusive Median Bus Lanes. METHODS : On 6 Exclusive Median Bus Lanes routes in Seoul, bus travel time and number of bus-stop per km were investigated. Also whether or not passing lane exists at bus-stop was checked. Based on the data from sites, bus travel time was estimated according to length of segment, number of bus-stop per km and whether or not passing lane exists at bus-stop. RESULTS : A bus travel time table was developed according to length of segment, number of bus-stop per km and whether or not passing lane exists at bus-stop. After bus travel speed and passenger car travel speed is estimated based on each travel time table and length of segment, two speeds are combined with weighted average speed using traffic volume of each lane group. Then weighted average speed is a measure of effectiveness of arterial including Exclusive Median Bus Lanes. CONCLUSIONS : It can be concluded that the proposed methodology can estimate level of service of arterial including Exclusive Median Bus Lanes considering the operation characteristics of Exclusive Median Bus Lanes.

IEEE 802.15.3a 기반의 무선 위치인식을 위한 평균가중 신호 도착방향 매개변수 추정 기법 (An Average-Weighted Angle of Arrival Parameter Estimation Technique for Wireless Positioning based on IEEE 802.15.3a)

  • UWB 표준인 IEEE 802.15.3a 채널의 무선 통신 시스템 환경에서 채널에 적합하고 추정 정확도가 우수한 신호 도착 방향(AOA) 매개변수 추정 기반의 실내 무선 위치인식 알고리즘을 위한 평균가중 AOA 추정기법을 제안한다. AOA 매개 변수 추정을 위한 IEEE 802.15.3a 기반의 초광대역 신호 모형을 설정하고, 종래 추정 기법보다 추정 정확도가 우수한 평균가중 기반의 다중신호 분류 기법들을 제안한다. 컴퓨터 모의실험을 통해, IEEE 802.15.3a 채널이 포함한 실내 무선 위치인식 시스템 환경을 구축하고, 제안한 AOA 추정 방식을 통해 종래 방식 보다 우수한 추정 결과를 보인다.

수방능력 및 재해위험을 고려한 침수위험도 결정 (Determination of Flood Risk Considering Flood Control Ability and Urban Environment Risk)

  • 최근 기후변화는 짧은 시간의 지역적인 집중호우와 예상치 못한 폭우에 영향을 미치고 이는 생명과 재산의 손실에 영향을 준다. 본 연구에서는 침수위험도를 결정하기 위한 방법으로 산술평균방법, 가중평균방법, 주성분 분석방법을 이용하여 침수위험도에 따른 순위를 결정하였다. 재해연보 및 도시계획 현황에서 선택한 인자들에 대한 표준화를 통해 단위를 통일시켰으며 표준화를 통한 산술평균방법, 상관관계분석을 통한 가중평균방법, 상관도가 높은 인자들을 묶어 분석한 주성분 분석방법을 통해 침수위험도를 결정하고 그 순위를 나타내었다. 본 연구에서 사용된 산술평균방법의 경우 간단하기는 하지만 각각의 인자들이 동일한 가중치를 가지는 문제점이 있고 가중평균 방법의 경우 각각의 인자들이 다른 가중치를 갖기는 하지만 많은 변수들 때문에 변수들 간의 상관관계가 복잡해지는 문제점이 있다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위해 주성분 분석방법을 사용하였으며 각 지역의 수방능력 및 재해위험을 고려한 침수위험도를 결정하였다.

Exponentially Weighted Moving Average Chart for High-Yield Processes

  • Borror et al. discussed the EWMA(Exponentially Weighted Moving Average) chart to monitor the count of defects which follows the Poisson distribution, referred to the $EWMA_c$ chart, as an alternative Shewhart c chart. In the $EWMA_c$ chart, the Markov chain approach is used to calculate the ARL (Average Run Length). On the other hand, in order to monitor the process fraction defectives P in high-yield processes, Xie et al. presented the CCC(Cumulative Count of Conforming)-r chart of which quality characteristic is the cumulative count of conforming item inspected until observing $r({\geq}2)$ nonconforming items. Furthermore, Ohta and Kusukawa presented the $CS(Confirmation Sample)_{CCC-r}$ chart as an alternative of the CCC-r chart. As a more superior chart in high-yield processes, in this paper we present an $EWMA_{CCC-r}$ chart to detect more sensitively small or moderate shifts in P than the $CS_{CCC-r}$ chart. The proposed $EWMA_{CCC-r}$ chart can be constructed by applying the designing method of the $EWMA_C$ chart to the CCC-r chart. ANOS(Average Number of Observations to Signal) of the proposed chart is compared with that of the $CS_{CCC-r}$ chart through computer simulation. It is demonstrated from numerical examples that the performance of proposed chart is more superior to the $CS_{CCC-r}$ chart.

심근경색 모델에서 자기공명영상에 대한 비교 연구 (Comparative Study of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Myocardial Infarction model)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate time course of signal enhancement on Gadomer-17 enhance MRI, and to correlate the size of enhanced area with that of the infarct area on 2'3'5'-triphenyl tetrazolium chloride(TTC) histochemical examination for the assessment of myocardial viability in reperfused Myocardial Infarction in a cat model. Tan cats(average weight: 3.8 kg) which had undergone 90 minutes of occlusion of the LAD followed by 90 minutes of reperfusion underwent MR T2-weighted imaging, and T1-weighted imaging, enhanced T1-weighted imaging. We used 1.5T Magneton Vision MRI system(Siemens, Erlangen, Germany). Signal intensities were measured in the enhanced and non-enhanced areas of enhanced T1-weighted imaging. and TTC histochemical staining the size of the abnormal signal area on each image was compared with that of the infarct area. Maximum enhancement was detected during a $40{\sim}60$ minute period with an average enhancement of $168{\pm}9.9%$ of normal myocardium. TTC staining revealed that the size of the high signal area on T2-weighted images and of the enhanced area on enhanced T1-weighted images was greater than that of the infarct area($T2=48.1%{\pm}3.7$, enhanced $T1=47.2%{\pm}2.6$, TTC $staining=38.7%{\pm}3.1$ ; p<0.05). In reperfused Myocardial Infarction in a cat model, enhanced MR imaging delineates reversibly and irreversibly damaged myocardium, with a strong enhancement and a broad temporal window. We may therefore expect that enhanced MR image is useful for demonstrating myocardial injury.

A Study on the Multivariate Exponentially Weighted Moving Average Control Charts for Monitoring the Variance-Covariance Matrix

  • Multivariate exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) control charts for monitoring the variance-covariance matrix are investigated. Two basic approaches, "combine-accumulate" approach and "accumulate-combine" approach, for using past sample information in the developement of multivariate EWMA control charts are considered. Multivariate EWMA control charts for monitoring the variance-covariance matrix are compared on the basis of their average run length (ARL) performances. The numerical results show that multivariate EWMA control charts based on the accumulate-combine approach are more efficient than corresponding multivariate EWMA control charts based on the combine-accumulate approach.

Minimizing the Average Distance of Separated Points on the Plane in the L1-Distance

  • Given separated points divided by a line, called a wall, in a plane, we aim to make a gate in the wall to connect the separated points to each other. In this setting, the problem is to find a location for the gate that minimizes the average distance between the points. The problem is a variant of the well-known facility location problem, which is extensively studied in the fields of operations research, location theory, theoretical computer science, and so on. In this paper, we consider the $L^1$-distance of the points in the plane. The points are projected onto the wall and so the problem is transformed to a proximity problem of points on a line. Then it is shown that the transformed problem is related to the weighted median problem of points on the line. Therefore, we obtain an O(n log n)-time algorithm to solve our problem.
